The magnet is included in the cap of the nail polish.How to get the magnetic effect:-Remove any oil from your nails by cleaning your nails with nail polish remover.-Take off the over-cap that contains the magnet and set aside. -There is an inner cap that you can use to apply the magnetic polish.-Apply one coat of your selected nails inc. base coat.-Then, apply one coat of your chosen magnetic polish on all 10 nails and let dry for a few minutes.-To create the "magnetic effect," apply a generous coat of magnetic polish to one nail, and immediately hold the cap that contains the magnet over the nail. (Do this quickly while the polish is still wet. There is a small lip on the cap which should be placed just below your cuticle allowing the magnet to be positioned perfectly over your nail.) Quick Take: pretty colors but no effect
Pretty colors,but couldn't get the effect to work, sort of bummed that the magnet is only in one cap so you can't pass on other colors to someone else

I tried the green first - it was simple to do (except for keeping the magnet from touching the wet polish, and that's a depth perception issue) and looked GREAT. Even the waitress at the restaurant I had dinner at asked about my manicure. I do recommend a base coat, and a top coat. i didn't do either and my tips started to show wear within a few days.

I couldn't believe how well this product actually worked! And it was super easy to do. For some reason the magnetic effect worked better with the chrome than the purple but that may have just been user error :)

I was so excited to try this polish because I saw some good reviews. The only nail that the magnet worked on was my pinky. On the other nails either the magnet didn't work or the design came out really bad.

I don't know why people have been having problems with this nail polish. The effects are awesome and easy!! it comes with 3 different colors and one magnet. All you do is paint one coat on your nails and then hold the magnet over each nail after you paint the second coat. You can see the wave pattern develop as you are holding it over your nail. If you don't hold it long enough, the pattern won't appear. If you hold it too long, it turns your nail color too black. I also roll the magnet from side to side to make sure the pattern is across my hole nail instead of just in the middle (I have fairly curved nails). I think this polish dries pretty quick too! With most nail polishes, it only lasts a few days before it starts chipping...I recommend a top coat. But the look is awesome! I got so many compliments!

These nail polish are awesome. Don't need to worry whether or not they'll work, they definitely will ! Just make sure your second layer for the design is thick enough so the magnet can work it's magic !
The thicker the second layer, the darker the lines will be, too thin and it won't show up as much or might not even work! Make sure to put the magnet on top as soon as you finish applying the second layer.
Cons: I wished the magnet wasn't a "flat top" but rather have a small arc to it? Maybe its just me, some of my nails are really "archy" so the magnet always come in contact with the polish, happens most often with my thumb nails, it often doesn't happen much.
Complimentary items: Get the base and top coat !! It really helps :)

Quick Take: long wearing, fast-drying, chip resistent, rich deep color, sophisticated look
The three colors in this set are quite dark and thus have quite a sophisticated look. The swirls do not show up well on the purple polish, though it is a beautiful color anyway. The teal is my favorite and the pewter colored one is beautiful too. I will follow one reviewer's suggestion to want an hour before putting on the clear coat on top.Perhaps if I had done that, the swirls would have showed up better.

i am not a fan of this nail polish line...my hubby bought this for me as a surprise gift and i was so excited to try it out but i was so disappointed with the results! you can hardly see the magnetic designs and in my opinion, it took too long to complete. needless to say, i returned this product :(

I already bought the grey color (trafalgar square) separately when this set became available, but I loved the polish so much that I decided to buy the set any way (getting the two other polishes would still cost a bit more).
I've seen that it only cones with one magnet because of other reviews. I would have been rather disappointed if I didn't know this ahead of time, this product needs a better description. Since I already have a polish, it didn't bother me though. I'm still able to give the grey one as a gift.
Unfortunately, compared to how gorgeous the grey is, the color polishes just don't translate the same. There is some marbling, but it's a lot more subtle and not nearly as pretty. The green is okay, but the purple is really disappointing imo. It doesn't have the same level of shine and not nearly as much depth (not much contrast). Still keeping it, but not thrilled with the purchase.
To address some reviews below - I'm able to use a top coat on these after drying them for five minutes without any problems

I bought this as a gift to split up for more than one person and thought it was a great deal based on other reviews. The only bad thing is only one polish has the magnet in the cap...so now I cannot split up the set.

Quick Take: fun!, inventive
I got the silver color as a gift. Love Love Love it! If you can't figure out how to use it, lots of great videos out there. :) I actually did mine differently than the way they show you go to do it by a simple change of angle on the magnet. Results below! Like user prior, if you are going to put top coat on it, wait til the 2nd layer dries, otherwise you will move the paint around and lose the swirls!

I bought the purple and fell in love. The only negitive thing is, you need to wait an hour or two before applying a clear top coat. The black will smudge :( Unless I am doing something wrong. If so please share.

Like the previous reviewer, I bought this set with the intention of keeping one for myself and giving the other two away as gifts. I was VERY disappointed when I opened the box today and I saw that only one came with the magnetic cap. The polish is nice so I am going to stick to my original plan. Even if I were keeping all 3, I would still prefer a magetic cap for each bottle.

GREAT, but with one caveat

This nail polish is excellent in every way - easy to apply, looks fabulous and dries fast. HOWEVER, what you need to know is when you buy this trio set, it ONLY comes with ONE magnetic cap to use for all 3 colors. So, you can't break the set up and give them individually to anyone else (which is what I had planned to do, as I had already bought single bottles for myself and thought I could save a few bucks by purchasing this set and splitting it up as gifts for my sisters). The polish itself deserves 5 stars, but only giving 3 on the set because of this disappointing revelation.

Tried this in the store and was totally excited about how it looked on my nails. The store didn't have the green ; (, but my fav was the silver. The purple looked good, but I wasn't in aww of it like the silver. Didnt give it 5 stars because Idk how long it would be before it chipped.

These are the best nail polish(s) I've ever tried/owend! You will not be dissapointed! buy this set now before it's gone! I've bought 3 sets! Excellent value! The formula is thick but perfectly thick so you don't have to overly paint your nails. Nails Inc. are the greates for inventing these beautiful magnetic polishes! I'm hooked and you will be too!! Very easy to use, but if you get confused always youtube for a tutorial! LOVE LOVE LOVE!

This is such a great little set! You get 3 full size magnetic nail polishes for less than the price of 2! You get only one magnetic cap to share among the three, so you can't really break up the set to gift to three friends, for example.
The polish itself is great quality. I do 1 thin coat as a base, wait for it to dry, then do 1 thick coat that I'll use the magnet on. You really have to go finger by finger in order to get a consistent pattern because they set pretty quickly. Once I hold the magnet over the polish, the pattern starts forming immediately, and finishes within seconds. Every color has a metallic finish, with the stripes forming black shadows that shift in the light.
The colors you get are Houses of Parliament (deep purple), Trafalgar Square (grayish silver), and Whitehall Teal (very saturated teal). The teal one is the most opaque--I get a solid color with one stroke. The purple is in the middle, and the gray is sheerest. I recommend a glossy clear topcoat to really bring out the richness of the colors.
Overall I am amazed at how easy it is to get such a beautiful result with so little practice. I have included nail swatches; they look pretty good considering this is my first time using this stuff, and I'm usually pretty accident-prone!

If you were thinking, " What a great gift! I can split this up as three stocking stuffers." Think again. Only one of the caps has a magnet, which isn't mentioned in the description. If you are getting this for one person, it is a great gift for the girl who loves to do her nails. Otherwise, buy three of the single polishes.
