Quick Take: sophisticated, complex, sexy
I received a sample of this and I was intrigued and then after I had it on for a few hours I couldn't get enough of it. I am not generally someone who wears a musky/woody scent but this one is complex and thoughtfully layered with the Plumeria and Violet (which are my favorites). Don't judge it just by smelling it the second you spray it, give it a chance to develop. I am shocked to see all the ageist comments here, very disappointing. It is definitely sophisticated and I love it for Winter. Clearly it's not for everyone but I'm happy I found it as it's opening me up to new woody/musky scents that I wouldn't have considered before!

Quick Take: mature smelling, sweet and delicate, grandma style
I was excited to get this perfume, I absolutely love DVF so in spite of the reviews I bought the smallest bottle hoping I would love the fragrance. I was disspointed, it smells sweet and delicate but it is definetely for mature women. The scent is not even elegant is just older smelling. I'm sure this cologne would make lots of traditional grandmas very happy.

Let me start off by saying there is a difference between "sophisticated" and down right OUT-DATED. Not only did I not like it, my mom (who is 60, btw) even turned her nose up when I let her smell this perfume. The musty old choice of ingredients have nothing to do with being mature. They're just bad.

tried this as a free sample. washed it off and threw out the rest of the sample. it is very musky and very..... not modern? i guess that's the politically correct way to say it. my grandmother might like this fragrance, though.

I received a sample of this fragrance to try. The product itself is very good quality; the fragrance is strong enough to emit itself without being overpowering, and it lasts for hours. However, it smells like old lady perfume. I would not recommend this scent to anyone under the age of 50 or 60.

Quick Take: long lasting, classy, attractive
I got this as a free sample when I ordered on Sephora, and I just dabbed a dot on each shoulder and my boyfriend loved it! All you need is a dab! It lasts for a few hours and softens as the day goes on, and no need to put any more on, trust me. Its makes me feel luxurious! <3

Got this as a sample, did not like at all. Too overpowering, strong, and unpleasantly sharp. Gave it a second chance several days later - the same reaction. The only good thing for those who might like the perfume is the decent staying power but it is also annoying for those who dislike it.

sophisticated mature fragrance

This is a very musky, incense -y floral that I like. It isn't your average teeny bopper scent and it has a level of sophistication that only mature tastes would like. I didn't say old or granny. It has an aura of 1970's glamour that is not shy. It is 70's glamour, not nursing home. It also has incredible staying power. You could easily overdo this one. Used with a little restraint, this warm, heady, musky scent is sophisticated and confident.

Quick Take: too strong!, scent was as bad in bottle as on skin., lotion just as bad.
This is for older women... I don't think my grandmoter would wear it! Too Strong! The notes "scents" clash abd about the only nice thing to say about this is...the bottle is OK that it comes in. (I saw people scrunching their noses, like who wearing this and why??!) Maybe since DVF is old herself is why we created this scent?! But if you're wanting a stronger scent, try Lolita's, they are very seductive.

I got this as a sample, and although I wouldn't purchase it, I think it's a decent scent for a mature women.
It smells clean, yet feminine. It's a "soapy" floral. Although, it's a bit strong so once spritz would be enough. I can see how it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea, but I think it's okay.

Quick Take: old gross and overpowering
This perfume is DISAPPOINTING! One spritz and I was gagging and coughing. It smelled like I just invaded an old lady's Canasta game! Ugh it's just horrible, I don't recommend for anyone under 80. Not only that, but the smell lingered FOREVER, I could not get rid of it. My husband turned up his nose and was like "what is that awful smell?" Just don't do it! No no no no!

Received this as a sample, applied liberally then had to take shower to rid myself of this horrific scent
As a child I remember having a dressing up box which included
a make up bag full of heavily scented make l and perfumes from the early 80s..this scent took me right back to the moment of dated, aged perfume that smelled like Grandma had held on to her perfume way too long.
Strong, and smells like old lady perfume that is way past its use date!! One of the worst scents I have ever smelld..and takes a lot of shower gel to get this scent off, so it you want something that sticks around at least this accomplishes that!!

Sophisticated scent for cooler weather

I have read the reviews and agree that this scent will appeal more to a 'woman of a certain age' or a more sophisticated person of any age - please, folks, let's stop the ageism 'old lady' references. Would not wear this is warmer weather because it is a strong oriental. It has some notes in it that remind me of incense. Personally, I enjoy it and have worn more woodsy/oriental scents for most of my life. That said, it also has some floral notes that may not appeal to ladies who enjoy fragrances in that are more within the woodsy category. Beauty is in the nose of the beholder and her audience - I really like this one and will continue to use it.
