Love Clarins Products
-05.18.13
Quick Take: skin texture improvement
This is the second bottle I use. I have uneven skin tone, dark large spots on my face due to sun damage and aging. I had tried may products out there and this Vital Light Serum works. After a couple of months I notice the dark area faded and my skin seems to glow, radiant. Now I use all Clarins, cleanser, exfoliating, toner, night cream, eye cream, day cream.

Not what I had hoped for.

Quick Take: not worth the money
I'm on my second month of this and am returning it later this week.I gave it two stars because it did make my skin brighter in the first two weeks, however it didnt do anything to lighten the dark spots. the dark spots i have are post acne marks. used it every day and night, after the first two weeks, its stopped working. idk, i guess my skin just doesn't like it. I got some free samples of the murad active radiance serum and it's not a dark spot treatment, but it works better than this stuff to lighten the dark spots i have.

Not for Me!
-04.18.13
Quick Take: will dry skin
Yes indeed it started clearing up my sunspots and the tone was awesome, but it made my skin very dry and started breaking out like I had not in years! I used moisturizer after application and also gave it over two weeks for my skin to get used to it, but this only made it worse as my breakouts got worse. I have the type of skin that if it is too dry or too moisturized, it will break out. I'm sure that not everyone will have my experience but this was simply not for me. What a shame because it really does what it is supposed to do, with the exception of the breakouts. :(

Waste of money for me
-04.10.13
I splurged with Clarin's Vital Light Serum, and the only difference I saw in my face was disappointment. I am in my mid 30's with some sun spots along my cheek bones. The serum claims many benefits, and I have not seen any of them after using it consistently for about 3 months. Concerning y skin tone, the serum did not even it out, it did not make my skin more radiant, and it did not fade muy dark spots. I did not notice firmer skin either. Concerning wrinkles, I am lucky not to have them yet, so I cannot have an opinion on the serum's effect on them. The only positive thing I can say about this serum is that it did not make my skin any worse. Howeever, I have tried plenty of serums that work better for half the price. I can't wait to finish this bottle so I can move on to something better.

Didn't Work
-03.23.13
Quick Take: ineffective, poor
This one felt somewhat heavy on my skin, broke me out a little, did only a little brightening, but didn’t lighten my scars at all. Overall poor.

Still waiting for results after 3 weeks
-12.04.12
I have dark spots under my eyes. I use this product once in the am and pm. After 3 weeks of using this product I notice my skin is brighter. I do have tiny wrinkles in my forehead and this made it less noticeable. But the dark spots I can see no difference. It's pretty expensive if it doesnt work for my dark spots, that's what I brought this bottle for. Have to see end result before deciding to repurchase or not

I bought this a while ago used it and then placed it aside after not seeing immediate results. I started using it twice daily for the past month and it has such a difference, the lines on my cheeks and the sun discoloration a are fading and my skin is started to return to my porcelain twenties again

RAVE - a first review
-09.20.12
Quick Take: hydrating, exfoliating, moisturizing, scars obliterated wrinkles tightened spots faded
I felt compelled to review this on Sephora, to spread the word. This magic fluid is the bomb!! Firstly, I am over fifty, sun damaged skin - with a spot the size of a small coin slap bang on my cheek (in the shape of a map of Australia - funny that) and with lines on my forehead. To add to the charm I have fine scarring. HAD fine scarring. You see whilst I was waiting for the spots to fade (they did! they did!) the scarring flattened out. From the first day!! Used morning and night because I love the effects so much. Skin tight, soft, scarless. I'd wear a gas mask if I had to, but smell not a worry. Truly truly awesome, just buy it (yes take out a small loan) and keep the secret!

disappointed
-07.12.12
I have moderate skin discoloration above my upper lip from too much sun exposure after having a baby. I usually love clarins products, but I must say that I am extremely disappointed with this one. I have been using it liberally for almost 4 months with no noticible difference at all. Although it is very luxurious, and does not cause any break-outs on my sensitive skin- it has done nothing for my skin tone.

Seems to be working
-07.08.12
Quick Take: recommendable!
This product does seem to be helping with my age spots on my arms and hands. I've been using it for a couple of weeks and I think that they are lighter. I don't know that it will help the bigger, darker spots, but the smaller spots do seem to be lightening.

Since I'm oily, I alternate with Super Restorative Serum nightly. My dark spots (only have a few since I hate the sun and stay out of it as much as possible) have just faded away. A tip to save some $$$... use half a pump; a little goes a long way (ditto with Super Restorative Eye Cream).

Great for sun spots
-06.03.12
Quick Take: exfoliating
I get sun spots on my hands if I'm outside for a prolonged period of time. They usually take a long time to fad naturally. I got a small sample of this and decided to try it since it was in my bathroom drawer just sitting there. I used it on my hand and literally saw the sunspots fading away withing a week. After 2 weeks of nightly use the spots completely vanished. So this definitely works for sun spots. If it works on acne scars and age spots, that's another question because I didn't get a chance to try it on my face. I'm too hesitate to try it because I'm scared of breaking out on my face. Maybe I'll give this a try if my other serums I'm using don't work. It goes on smoothly and doesn't have any scent.

Slow Results, Be Patient, It's Worth the Wait!
-05.25.12
Quick Take: hydrating, effective, skin correcting
Been using this for 2 mos, didn't notice results right away, but maybe because I was focusing on the one age spot that I wanted gone. Spot is now fading, and my overall skin appearance has really changed for the better. My face looks younger, I'm wearing less make-up (no longer have to try to even out color & hide imperfections). Fragrance is not so bad, perfumey - yes, but doesn't linger. I tried this out on a whim based on what others were saying and I'm glad I did. My skin looks like it did 20 years ago. No kidding, I love this stuff. Yes, its expensive and takes time to work, but the bottle lasts a long time. I've never paid this much for a beauty product, but then again nothing i tried before worked like this either. Its every bit worth the price to me.

Effective!
-02.11.12
Quick Take: gentle formula, good as a spot treatment, effective, treats dark spots, moisturizes
I received two samples of this and it's really effective. I had several dark spots and I mean DARK! It's super soft, moisturizing and smells good to me. It felt really nice on the skin. I wish I can buy one, but too expensive for me.

Saw a difference immediately
-01.22.12
Quick Take: gentle formula, good as a spot treatment
I got this as a deluxe sample and recently tried it while on vacation. I've tried the Philosophy and Clinique dark spot correctors, but this one outshone them all (pun not intended)! I saw a difference in reducing pigmentation, but more importantly, it actually added a glow to my skin that the other dark spot correctors never did. It's way more expensive, but multi-tasks to make up for it. I never thought I'd pay this much for a spot corrector, but I will be purchasing a bottle as soon as I run out of my sample. Highly recommend.
Also -- I don't find the fragrance overwhelming at all. Not sure why so many people seem to have a problem with it, I barely noticed.

WONDERFUL
-01.20.12
Quick Take: gentle formula, good as a spot treatment
I have tried several of the products that claim to dimish dark spots and brighten skin, before this one, none were impressive. The sample sold me in just 1 week, 2 bottles later I am continuing to see improvement and I would not be without this. I do not think that there is any bad, odd, or migrain producing smell. (some reviewers are SO Dramatic)
Makes my skin look 10 years + younger.

-01.13.12
Quick Take: gentle formula, natural, good as a spot treatment, brightens my skin
This is my second bottle and I really love this Serum. I am over 60 and thank goodness I was blessed with great skin. I find using this product morning and night and patting it into my skin has done wonders. My skin is so smooth and looks brighter. I had some brown spots but they're practically all gone. I recommend this product to any age.

SAW A LITTLE BIT OF LUMINOSITY (SAMPLE)
-01.12.12
While I have no issues with spots, I thought I'd try my sample of Clarins Vital Light Serum for brightening effects. I can't tell you how this might have worked because I found the fragrance/smell a little bit heavy. My Mom complained about my "fragrance" so it must have some residual effect. I have noticed sometimes that samples smell differently than the actual product, so this might be something that interests you anyway. However, while I did see some luminosity almost immediately, I don't want to invest in anything that might conflict with my fragrances, nor do I want to invest in something that smells heavy to me.

Works.. but be patient
-01.11.12
I got 2 0.3 fl oz samples of this product a couple of months ago, and I'm almost done with the first bottle (using it every night). For the sample size, I use 3 pumps and that is enough for my face and jawline. After 2 months of continuous use, I noticed that my face is brighter and that my blackhead scars are fading. On a side note, I really like the smell.
I give it 4 stars because it takes a while to see results. Maybe if I use it twice a day, it would speed things up -- but I'm trying to make the product last for a while.
A tip for those using this -- I found that results sped up a bit when I used a face brush/scrubber. I've been using Sephora's Precision Pore Cleansing pad (pink) when washing my face for the past couple of weeks (using Philosophy Purity Made Simple). After washing and drying while the skin is damp, then I put on the serum.
