The only product I use!
-01.27.13
Quick Take: lightweight, non-sticky, easy to use, ultra fine mist
My hair stylist recommended I use this product when she was teaching me how to style my hair for my wedding. First advantage when using this product is to have layers or texture by use of texturizing shears. My stylist also taught me that the key to really making the texture or wave come out in my hair is to use a diffuser. I have never used a diffuser and have naturally straight hair. She taught me to twist my hair loosely and diffuse until it's bone dry (not damp) which, again, is key to a successful wavy look. When dried successfully, my hair will have nice soft waves in it. A few sprays of Ocean Mist and the tousled, naturally wavy look is set for the whole day. I LOVE this stuff.

Quick Take: lightweight, non-sticky, not long lasting, smells really good
Smells really good, gives my hair a good wave but it doesnt last long. I shower and spray my hair a few times where my hair is limp then let it air dry. I dont think I'll buy it again because the wave really doenst last longer than an hour or so.

Great product when used properly
-12.08.12
Quick Take: lightweight
I felt very strongly about writing a review after reading other people's reviews. Plus I recently tried almost every other wave spray that Sephora carries and doesn't carry for "beach waves" and thought they were god awful and then I learned to appreciate and use Ocean Mist properly. In order to get great waves, I have found to use this spray sparingly to damp (not soaking wet) hair and then to use a diffuser. You can let it dry natural as well, but I obtained better results with applying minimal heat. It adds just the right kick to my hair when it's not behaving properly. If you overuse the product, you will get crunchy hair. The next morning, I simply spray my hair down with water since I NEVER wash my hair more than 3 times a week. Water does the trick alone with giving it back some bounce. I also use this product in conjunction with Ojon's Revitalizing mist. I would be lost without that. It's a MUST for anyone who doesn't wash daily with wavy hair.

Crunchy
-11.13.12
I've used a lot of beachy sprays but this one did not meet my standards and I returned it to Sephora. It made my curls crunchy - not soft. There are much better products on the market that are less expensive and perform better.

Ocean Tangle...
-10.14.12
Quick Take: great-smelling and volumizing
The mist smells great and adds a lot of volume; however, if you're like me and not a fan of washing your hair daily, you'll be in for a tangly, crunchy surprise the next morning. Day one is cute, day two is straw hair. :-)

I had bumble and bumble sea spray and I really liked how it made my hair look but it also made my hair a little crunchy which I HATE. So I asked an employee if there was another brand that they could possibly recommend and he immediately grabbed this one and said it was amazing, then he called a girl over so that she could tell me about it since she actually used it. They both said that this made your hair feel much better than the bumble and bumble and it also had much better ingredients. The first time I used it I knew that this was significantly better than the bumble and bumble spray and it was a great choice. It does smell like a traditional salon product which I can understand why some people don't like it but its defiantly not bad. My hair feels great with it in and it looks actually looks better than the other one I used.It gives it a nice wave without the weird crunchy feeling. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a good sea salt spray.

volumizer
-08.19.12
Quick Take: lightweight, volumizing, texturizing
I'm usually wary of ocean mists becuase the salt tends to make your hair dryer. My hair dresser used this on me after my hair cut yesterday and the results have been great.
He strategically lifted my hair and sprayed it only on the roots, section by section. then he used a round brush to lift my hair away from my scalp and blow dry it. the results are that today my hair is voluminous and he said i should expect it to last longer without getting oily (the salt absorbs the oil).
i've tried the bumble and bumble version and didn't like it, and it turns out bumble's has more salt than this one. if your hair is try make sure you put a moisturizer in it to combat the drying effects which can be damaging.
i feel like if you use this properly you can get great results. i guess the packaging just doesn't explain that well!

Yuck.

I have received Sachajuan products before from a hair salon and they did nothing for me. Neither did this spray. It just made my hair sticky and crunchy.

Not that great
-03.09.12
My hair stylist used this in my hair once and I really liked it. It has that great Sacha Juan scent. So I ran out and bought it. When I tried it myself, it weighed my hair down and made it look flat and gross. I returned it. Not sure what I did wrong, so I'm going to say that this has great potential, but not easy to use.

Ocean Mist
-11.12.11
Quick Take: lightweight
I was a little disappointed with this product. I don't like the smell, it isn't "beachy" at all . It has a strange chemical smell. And it just doesn't seem to work as well as similar products that I've used in the past. I would not purchase this product again.

Not Bad..

Quick Take: non-sticky, lightweight, easy to use
So I have been using Bumble and Bumble Salt Spray and I have decided to give this a try. It does the work, it gives my hair a really nice wave, but I absolutely does not like the smell of this product and that's the reason I gave it a 3 stars.

Crunchy.
-11.11.11
I wanted a salt spray that enhanced my natural ways. I was hoping this product would be it.
The smell was a little too strong for me, however, I could have overlooked it had the product delivered the look I was wanting.
I tried the product on dry and wet hair. For both applications, I ended up with crunchy hair - as if I had put too much hairspray in it.
I then tried it with less product. I placed it in my hand and applied it in this way, rather than spraying it on. I still ended up with crunchy hair.
Oh, well. My search for the perfect salt spray continues....

Finally! I use this everyday! Shower at night-curl with a big iron in the morning and spray this on. Takes five minutes and my hair is perfect. This gives amazing volume and texture without being tacky. Much better than the Bumble and Bumble spray!

Best Beach Spray Ever!
-09.09.11
Quick Take: non-sticky, lightweight, easy to use, amazing, smells great
I absolutely adore Ocean Mist. I've been using it for about a year now and am so excited that Sephora is finally carrying it. The spray is great because it gives just the right amount of body to hair. Spray it at the roots for volume, and on the end for waves. I've always been particular about the type of "beach spray" that I use, since my hair curls really easily. If I use one with too much sea salt, my hair becomes a tangled, curly mess when all I wanted want some natural wave. This product is perfect for that sexy, "just at the beach" look. The smell is great too (not to over powering, and really "natural" smelling, not chemical-like). A little goes a long way with this product too. Just a few sprays and you're good. Like I said, it can be used at the roots to add volume as well, but just a few sprays for that as well. I recommend this product for anyone looking for the perfect styling product to give them great, tousled waves. and natural volume.
