Hourglass Powder Brush No. 1

What it is: A large, round face-powder brush. What it does: This multitasking brush is excellent for applying and blending both loose and pressed powder as well as foundation. The sculpted head allows for precise product-placement.What else you need to know: Hourglass designed their makeup brush collection to be supremely soft, decidedly luxurious, and PETA-friendly. Takelon bristles are made from high-grade synthetic fibers to maximize product application, avoid potential allergic reactions to animal fur, and promote the use of non-animal products. Hourglass Powder Brush No. 1 is an Allure Best of Beauty Award Winner.

good brush
-05.07.13
this brush is good, does what it is supposed to do. I don't know if it is really better than other brushes to justify the price though.

incredible brush
-05.03.13
Quick Take: synthetic hair, soft bristles
I'm in the process of trying to collect all the Hourglass brushes. So far I have #1, #2, #3, #5, #7, and the ambient powder brush. They're all wonderful brushes. I love this one - #1 - because it's a perfect powder brush. It's big and fluffy but not too fluffy that it won't pick up product, and it distributes powder (or whatever else you're using with it) evenly. I've only used it with powder so far but you could probably use it to buff out foundation if you wanted.
You really can't go wrong with an Hourglass brush. They're pricey, but man, are they worth it. I haven't had mine long enough to know how they'll hold up but I have washed them and not lost a single hair. Sometimes I just brush the #1 or the #7 over my face because they're *so* soft. Buy this brush--you won't regret it :)

I'm a 100% Hourglass fan since .......... last year :D 2012, the first time I knew and tried their products . I had little doubt about it because the synthetic hair , as I believed natural hair should always be better. But my idea is changed now.
However the first H brush I bought was No. 7 , it does the work perfectly ! So ... I tried No.1 , No. 2 , No.5 , No. 8 , and also the eyeliner brush... nearly a full set of it.
They are a bit pricy for sure. But got to say they are the best brushes I've ever used, definately worth the price. As I used them for nearly a year, not even 1 single hair fell out. ( I clean them nearly every day)
Still, if you have doubt , the best way to clarify is to try. I'm quite stubborn and always use the same brand products. This habit made me missed chances to have many good things. I'm glad the BA at Sephora store insisted , and thankful for their patience to show every product carefully.
Back to the brush!
Pro: very soft , easy to apply, can soak in and leave on the powder perfectly. A bit heavy, but it's a pro ! :) I'm not much a fan of the plastic light brushes .
Con: Non.

The Best Brush!

Quick Take: wonderful
This brush is amazing! I use the hourglass tinted moisturizer and this brush applies it like silk. Spend the extra money and purchase this one. The cheaper ones are NOT the same.

Would you rather have a dozen brushes that work okay or one brush that works magic. This one brush works magic. Liquid foundation, powder veils, blushes, bronzers. It looks like I airbrushed everything on my face. Now I use my other similarly sized brushes for cleanup and touch ups.

best brush in my collection
-06.06.12
Quick Take: soft, synthetic, luxurious
I own brushes 1 & 2 in this brand. These are great brushes snd get used the most of all the brushes in my collection. I only use synthetic brushes and its hard to find synthetics of this quality and softness. Best brush I own. Hands down.

A splurge I don't regret
-03.29.12
Quick Take: synthetic hair, soft bristles, high quality
I love this brush. It is amazingly soft and versatile. It has the softest bristles and a great weight to the handle. It is rather expensive and I'm sure you could find something adequate in a more reasonable price range, but I expect it to last me forever and I couldn't be happier. I'd recommend this to anyone who is serious about building a quality brush collection

I absolutely adore the Hourglass brushes! They're the softest brushes I own and I'd gladly pay the price anyday! I also have the No.2 brush and it's just as amazing. So much nicer than any other synthetic brush on the market!
