I really wanted to love this foundation. I know it was recently reformulated and I never got to try the original. I tried this one as a sample and had it used on me for a makeup application at Sephora. Both times it was used with the Hourglass veil mineral primer (which is great), and provided nice coverage at first, but after only about 4 hours the makeup had melted off of my skin.

I just got a sample of this the shade pearl is too dark I will be going back for Porcelain. I bought Nars sheer matte foundation in Siberia which the color is amazing but just doesnt have lasting power. I wore this to work, And I didnt have to touch up my powder at all for 8 hours. Nars barely lasts 2. The coverage is more medium than full but it gives a soft not overly matte look while still looking natural. Plus it doesnt feel heavy. I got compliments all day from customers. I will be returning Nars and buying this for sure. Worth the cost for someone with oily acne prone skin.

Quick Take: oil-free
I have been using the HG veil foundation which I love, but I thought I would try this to see if it worked better for my very oily skin. I'm glad I only got a sample of this and didn't buy it, it was definitely not what I was after.
It's not a bad foundation, but it doesn't cover as well as the Veil. I have red cheeks and acne scars and I find the Veil covers beautifully and you can build it up on areas that need more coverage yet it still looks really natural. I didn't find the Immaculate to be buildable, I felt like you could only apply one layer and everything else after that caked. I applied extra to my cheeks, as I do with the Veil, but when I looked at myself a few minutes later I realised I had caked orange cheeks, and my redness wasn't even covered well.
The oil contol is pretty good, I still needed to blot (again, I have super oily skin) but my face was much less oily at midday than it normally is. For a matte finish it's pretty natural, doesn't cake (as long as you don't try to build it up) and doesn't emphasise pores. I didn't have issues wtih blending as others have, though I did try to blend it quickly after it was applied.
For reference, I have medium skin with neutral/warm undertones, around NC25-30, the sample I got was Light Beige which was a good match in terms of depth, but I felt it was a tiny bit too orange/peachy.

i loved this foundation! i got it as a free sample and now i wanna buy the bottle! i get pretty oily on my T area and this foundation was great on absorbing the oil and mattifying.i dont understand why other people dont like, its great!

Then, as an actress, I was forced to go shopping for a quality foundation by my makeup artist.
Begrudgingly, I tried on every other foundation at sephora, and they all felt too greasy, too heavy, or too dry.
Then I tried this.
It was a miracle! Not only did it feel like I wasn't wearing anything, but it was a multitasking product. I started out wearing my professional and my finishing powder, but it was just a waste of time. This foundation works as a primer, foundation, and finishing powder.
It's totally matte, but not ashy or drying.
Truly an airbrushed finish.
And the best part...certified vegan and gluten free!

This is the worst foundation I ever tried. Even if you apply it quickly it turns into a dry splotchy mess and pills off your skin. It went immediately back to the store. I usually like Hourglass and don't understand why the company would come up with this product.

Got a free sample but had high expectations for this product. I have very oily skin and hated using liquid foundation because my skin is sensitive. However, this product after using it twice on seperarte occassions reduced the oiliness in my face by far and did not irritate my skin. I use to have to blot my face every few hours after applying my makeup but I did not have to do it for this foundation. It kept my face shine-free and does medium coverage ( I have lots of dark blemishes). Overall, I'm hooked on this product and will be purchasing a full bottle.

I got a sample about 6 days ago and have been using it and I am absolutely in love with it. I have oily and acne prone skin and this is the only foundation that I have tried so far lately that has not bothered me since my face has become acne prone. It has an amazing finish and goes from liquid to a matte powder like finish. I do need to have touch ups during the day while at work like once or so because I am very active at work but with that said this one seems to stay on the best and keep me not shiny. I definitely think it has a flawless finish when you put it on and I am in love with it!

I am mixed race and find it hard to find the perfect shade of foundation to suit me. Add in the fact that I am rather lazy about makeup (no mixing two or more different products to get the right shade) and I have avoided foundation. My makeup drawer is a litter of products tried and never returned. But after a Sephora salesperson suggested this and gave me a sample I am hooked. The shade is perfect and my skin looks so much better once applied. It does not take much and with a primer, this really lasts throughout the day and then some (I touch my face much too frequently). More importantly, it keeps shine away and makes me look like me, just better - more even and polished. one of the first foundations I will use to the end and then buy another bottle or two of.

I had never tried an hourglass product before and I'm very impressed with this foundation! The only reason I gave it 4 stars is the price. But I would buy it again, regardless because of how good it is. I have very oily skin, especially my nose, and with my previous foundation, my nose would be like an oil machine a few hours after putting it on. With this foundation, I can go all day and not have any signs of oily skin. It's long-lasting and the matte effect absorbs any oil. Also, I have VERY red skin and because it is matte and has complete coverage, my redness is reduced. I got a sample of the primer that goes with it and I'm pleasantly surprised with that as well. Great great product.

I got this as a sample and am going to purchase the full size. It provides nice coverage and doesn't feel too heavy like my regular foundation. Perfect for the summer, the consistency is like a BB cream so mix quickly but it evens out my skintine and provides a nice coverage.

Perfect for my skin

I have very fair skin that also happens to be oily. I have tried so many brands and the colour would be a little off (most often too dark even though I always choose the lightest shade possible). On top of that foundation usually falls off my face by the afternoon. I bought the pearl and it was perfect. Its not too yellow or pink and it stays on my face all day - just like it promised.

I wanted to love this foundation so much. On my skin, this foundation draws attention to any superficially dry areas on my face and looks bad. I want to return it, but I'll wait a few weeks to see if my superficially dry areas go away and then try it again. The bentonite works, but may also exasperate any not-quite dehydrated spots. Will update!

This product lives up to all the hype, and then some. I usually shy away from liquid foundation except for special occasions or days I need more coverage, but I have been using this every day since it arrived several weeks ago! It seamlessly evens out my complexion and stays dry.
No other foundation I've tried, liquid or powder, still looks this good on my forehead and nose at the end of the day. Doesn't need a primer, but is even better with one. A little finishing powder will give this a perfect matte look.

I love this foundation! I have searched for years. My skin is sensitive, prone to breakouts, and I have an oily t-zone. This foundation is the only one that I've found to control my oil all day, conceal imperfections, AND it doesn't make me breakout. One thing I'd say is that this foundation is darker in person, so try it on! I am medium-light skinned and ended up going with a light color. I would've gone with light beige, but it was sold out! Next time, a summer shade for my tanned skin! ;)

This is great for everything aside from parts of your skin that arent perfect! If you dont have perfect skin, this stuff doesnt really cover it and wont lay flat...it looks really awkward. I also use the viel primer under but it still doesnt help. :/ I'll probably be going back to bare minerals matte powder. I also wasnt able to build coverage like it says...it looked all weird and spotty?? Super sad.

I bought this expensive foundation because of the what the item claims to do for my skin. I only used it twice and i can tell that i just dont like it at all on my skin. I wanted to like it but it didnt look good on me. it looked cakey and just didnt blend well onto my skin. Light coverage, so i rather use a BB cream instead. And this is just my review, you just have to try it to know whether it will be a hit or miiss. I have found a better drug store foundation.
