I absolutely loved the way this mascara worked---for the first hour or so. After that I had to constantly check under my eyes for smudgies. I tried everything....primer under the eyes, primer on the eyelashes, powder on the eyelashes to set it. Nothing worked for me. Let me tell you...powder on the eyelashes with contacts in is not convenient.

Quick Take: did not do what it says it does
It is not worth the price you pay for this product. It did not add volume nor lengthened my eyelashes and did not curl it either. There is smearing, smudging and clumping, sorry. I also find the miror part very annoying because I cannot use it and it stays open when you use the mascara.
I would not buy it again I would rather buy a cheaper mascara that does exactly the same for me as this one.

I purchased this at my local Guerlain counter, and I’ve been so curious about this (better late than never, no?).
To use this, pull out the handle and twist to get the wand out. There are instructions on the tube, however I choose to take it off because I find it ugly to be honest with you. The tube is quite heavy, because of the mirror, of course, which I’m still not too sure how I feel about it (it’s very convenient, though).
Regarding the mascara itself, it’s very nice. It doesn’t make my lashes look super dramatic (although I have relatively long and full lashes to begin with). However, it did make my lashes look fabulous; full, thick, like those ‘natural’ dramatic lashes. It’s also a lovely rich black, it does have a scent, it’s not very strong, but you can’t smell it after application.
The thing that I’m not a fan of with this mascara is that it does smudge sometimes. I’m used to mascaras that stay put until you use an oil-based makeup remover, so I wasn’t used to it. If you rub your eye, for example, it will smudge a bit, but nothing a makeup wipe and touchup can’t fix.
I’m pleased with this mascara, and I don’t regret purchasing it. It’s really a matter of opinion, however there isn’t really anything majorly wrong with this mascara, and there is no ‘perfect’ mascara. Overall, this is lovely.

In the beginning I LOVED this mascara. It was the best I had ever used. It creates volume and separates lashes at the same time. It even holds curl after using a lash curler. But unfortunately after using it for about 3 weeks, it started to dry out. It also started to flake a bit, and in the beginning it didn't flake at all. Not sure if its worth it to buy the refill now even though it still seems to work well, besides the flaking.

I use this mascara a lot and it works so well to both lengthen and thicken your lashes. The black color is perfect and it really enhances your eyes by creating fuller-looking, dark lashes. The only slight problem was that during application and shortly after, the mascara would smudge a bit.

This is by far the best mascara I have ever used. And I have them all!! YSL, Givenchy,Dior etc. NO lash fallout, stays put but easy to get off, beautiful fanning and thickening. The compact is great, easy to use and is definetly lux. Dont think twice about this one, yes, it is a little pricy the first time you buy it, but the refills are only 26$! INCREDIBLE!!

Personally, I think it's worth it. I actually bought mine at Nordstrom's for Mascara Madness, and had a bit of a hassle getting it, but I'm very glad I perservered.
The case: If you're used to Rouge G lipstick, or Rouge G L'Extrait, it's the same thing. You pull out the handle then twist to get the wand out. There are instructions on the case that you can peel off if you don't need them. The mirror's handy, I suppose, although this is a bit heavy for taking around. But I like that it's similar to the lipsticks.
As for the mascara itself, I love it. My lashes are pretty full already but this makes them so much fuller and longer, and it's a lovely rich black. Not quite falsies territory but definitely amped up from every day lashes. The scent doesn't bother me, and I'm usually pretty sensitive to those things.
I accidentally took a nap with this on today, and only had a slight smudge under one eye. And it was easy to take off with a makeup remover wipe.
Is it worth $50? That's really a personal choice. I'm glad I bought it, but there are other great mascaras out there for less. So it's up to you.

Application is quick and easy with perfect results. Stays put til I take it off. I had given up on mascara as it would come off on my sunglasses during my rides. A friend gave me this mascara, I am hooked! And my lashes are always great!

I have been looking for a mascara for awhile now that doesn't cause my eyes to get scratchy and well stay on without smudging. I sweat easily due to a chronic disease and my eyes have become very sensitive, this mascara hasn't bothered my eyes and it hasn't smudged! I am very excited. I believe I have found my new mascara! :) Yes, it's expensive but as a salesperson pointed out, if you don't care about the packaging then just buy the refill.

Ok, packaging as always is outstanding. Guerlain is using top European jewelery masters to create their packaging. So you pay A LOT just for the packaging. The mascara..I would not say it is something special. It is a just OK, nice mascara. For packaging and price like this I would expect much more. however Guerlain use the finest ingredients for its products so if you are rich enough just to get a nice, daily mascare go for it. At least you will know that you are using high quality product in terms of ingredients.

I loved this mascara for its lengthening, volumizing and softening properties, but most of all its scent. The only thing I don't like is that it rubs off on my eyelids where my lashes touch. I returned it because of this, even though I was in love with everything else about it.

I bought this because I loved the formula that I tried in a sample size. The mascara itself is fantastic, but the applicator is annoying. It is heavy, it has a mirror that keeps popping open whether you want it or not, and its hard to get the mascara top off without breaking a nail - you don't unscrew it like regular mascara, you have to push this small button to get it open. Had I known how awful the case was, I might not have bought it.

I'm very particular on every level. This is it! The search is over. Behaves and performs like a dream. Nothing compares. Please, don't even say Diorshow or any of the other trendy teenage %*(# even makes the grade. Don't make the mistake of using anything else at your next big event. Does have a lot of fragrance, so the sensitive should beware.

I received this as a free gift and it is the best mascara I have ever used...for my upper lashes. I curl them first and then apply it. My lashes are quite fine and this mascara clearly lengthens and gives them volume. It also stays put and does not smudge! I find it is to thick a brush for my bottom lashes so I use Bare Minerals which is pretty great too.This is pricey (hence the 4 stars) and the sample only lasted me about a month so I am not sure will purchase again due to that. But, if I do love it and think it is an exceptional product.

Really thought I'd love it at first, even boasted to my mom and had her try it (she has thinner, sparse lashes and liked it for it's defining ability). But after using for a few weeks I came to a different conclusion. I think it would work well for someone looking for a "short wearing" mascara who would not be in hot, humid weather. I noticed the third ingredient (Beeswax) and this is exactly what the consistency ends up as after a - long night, shall we say. Too heavy/waxy for me! Will continue my search for a more lightweight, feathery mascara.

I just tried this mascara on in the store and I absolutely love it, it is fabulous and it actually looks like you have lush lashes as oppose to other mascaras that claim they do and then it looks like you're wearing nothing. That said, one coat of this gives your lashes a nice lush natural look but can be built up to give a va-va voom effect! Can't wait to purchase it!

this is the first mascara I have purchased that actually delivers what it claims to. It lengthens and thickens and goes on without clumping. I have had zero flaking and it stays on like waterproof (havent been swimming in it) but comes off easily with remover. The best part is my lashes seem nourished and healthier once i remove it. I dont need the mirrored case which makes it heavier and more $$. But i will now just get the refills and its about the same as diorshow.

I have long lashes to begin with so I am lucky most mascaras work. However, when I tried Noir G I could not believe how incredibly perfect it is. My lashes look awesome- super black. I have fair skin but the black is perfect not to much. You can use one or 2 coats for an amazing daytime look or more for a dramatic night look. Absolutely you can look like you have falses lashes if you want that look. I agree with many people that you don't need the mirror.
I really did not believe it would make my lashes stronger or longer but it has!!!
Defiantly a great buy !
