Amazing and one of a kind

Quick Take: glossy, long lasting
YSL's glossy stain really blew me away. This was the most I've ever spent on a lip product, so I was wary at first, but it really was worth it. The staying power is phenomenal, it's super glossy and the color is extremely pigmented. I haven't found another lip product like it yet.

I'm a product junkie and this one I instantly love. The second the lady put it on me, I was hooked. I have #5 and it's great for everyday. No more bare naked lips just because I'm too busy working or I'm eating and drinking too much! I can't stop checking myself out.

I love this stain and would have given it 5 stars if not for the price. However, with that being the only negative, it is by far the best long-lasting lip gloss/stain I've tried so far. I bought #5 rouge vintage which is a medium pinky/coral/English Rose. It also smells wonderfully like roses. The online pic is actually a little darker. And, for once, its not drying like most "long lasting" lipsticks are. I would love to get more colors but the price is beyond my budget. I guess you get what you pay for, but I'm waiting to see how long this tube lasts me before buying more. It does transfer a bit when drinking but not near as much as a regular one would.

I absolutely love this gloss stain. I purchased #8, #11 and #13; I specifically wanted to purchase some of the more "bright colors" (orange, red and pink respectively).
I am a HUGE fan and very loyal customer to the Chanel ROUGE DOUBLE INTENSITÉ and have honestly never found anything that I felt competed with it. I have about 9 different colors in the Chanel gloss. Though both products are not "cheap" - to me, it is worth it; to have a long-lasting gloss that truly lasts throughout the day is something that is important to me - I work crazy long hours and really don't have time to "refresh" my lips very often … so, the money is worth it.
In terms of the normal dryness, etc. that some long-lasting products can cause - I have not experienced that with this gloss; I actually love that it appears "glossy" for a long time. I am able to drink, eat, etc. and my lips still look good (they might not be as glossy 6 hours later but they still look good). The only "complaint" I have - which is why I didn't give it 5 stars - is that it is a bit more difficult to apply evenly and nicely; it is possible, it just requires some time to get it right. I will absolutely be buying more colors though - sorry Chanel, I think I might be a YSL gloss girl now.

This gloss/stain goes on very moist, but it dries up immediately. I have to put another gloss on top of if to keep my lips from sticking together. I am disappointed.

Naturally beautiful

Quick Take: non-drying, long lasting, satin finish, buildable, smooth
I never would have picked this up had I not had my makeup done for an event at Sephora. The artist used this on my lips, and although it looked very dark in the tube, it was the most natural flush on my lips. I got so many compliments on how beautiful my lips were, but because the stain is sheer, it looked like I was born that way.
This product is very pricey, but the stain lasts a long time (through eating and drinking) and I expect the product to last a while. I will definitely repurchase!
Also I have super dry lips and it did not dry me out. I recommend putting this on DRY lips, then putting a lip balm over it, as it doesn't go well on slick lips.

I love these things way to much according to my bank account. I have to limit myself to only getting one at a time because otherwise I would buy them all. My favorite red is no.9!!!!! And they are boyfriend approved because once they set into your lips they are hard to kiss off! lol

Love this Glossy Stain. Not greasy nor over glossy. Impact color and stay put for ours. I purchased two #13 and #9 love them both. Will order one more in another color. Great angled brush, non drying too. I use a Sephora Mini Lip pencil to outline and this is my color use for lipstick. 8 hrs days no problems, maybe a touch up lightly here and there to just re-moisture lips.

I am not a lipgloss type simply because they can be sticky, not very well pigmented and don't last long.
This lip gloss is amazing! It has great pigmentation, you get the color you see in the tube. It is not sticky and lasts all morning. It also has a yummy watermelon smell, which is nice in the warmer months! The packaging is nice too because you can see how much lipgloss you have used.

Gorgeous color between a darker coral and pink. Feels light and creamy going on. Staying power is moderate. Not as long wearing as claimed, however, the color fades evenly and leaves a faint stain so my lips don't look completely naked. Overall very happy with this purchase.

I don't usually write reviews, but after trying and falling in love with this product, I had to.
For YEARS, I have been searching for a long-lasting, non-drying lip gloss with a decent color payoff and have had no luck. Then I tried YSL glossy stain in shade #12.
Shade #12 is a beautiful pink coral that is bright but still appropriate for work. It is glossy, non sticky, true to color, non-drying, and long-lasting. I apply in the morning with primer, and then I am good to go for the rest of the day.
After 8+ hours of wear (through eating and drinking) the gloss dries down to a beautiful stain which I just top with a chapstick and am good to go for the rest of the day.
AMAZING product and definitely is money well spent. This is my new go-to product, and I'll be back for more.

Colors are gorgeous - love the formula - great staying power. More shine than a regular lipstain - but with similar pigment impact. My favorites are #12 Corail Fauve, #18 Rose Pastelle and #19 Beige Aquarelle. A++!

CAn't be without this product now! I love the smooth and rich texture, the shine, and the wear (about 4 hours in my case). The only thing NOT to love is the price tag. Are we paying for product of the "YS:" name? Not sure, but I wish I could spring for another color. #14 is gorgeous............

This stain is incredible, I have purchased two and will maybe get another color....well most likely it is that superb! I hesitated over the price but well worth it when adding up the numerous lipsticks laying in my dresser basket. Stain stain stain and easy to apply. Stays all day of course a touch up here and there due to just the "day" but the under base never leaves. I top it with gloss, drying? unless it is greasy gooey all I find in lipsticks can be however this one I do not apply lip balm except hours later in a dry office for 8 hrs...not the lipstick the environment around me. Take a chance, so happy with this lipstick/stain. Yes I think I shall order the 3rd color of this product.

I have many of the YSL lip stains, love them, and sometimes layer or mix them to create my own hues.
Here are a few tips that help: condition your lips at night (and of course, stay hydrated), use a good anti- feathering lip product before applying - especially on the highly pigmented reds and bright pinks, (I use Guerlain's Kiss Kiss Lip Lift or MUF Lip Line Perfector), let the stains sit on your lips at least 2 minutes before eating or drinking, or adding on a gloss top coat, if using one. These stains can be layered on if you want a more intense hue, or single layered for a softer look. These steps keep my stains looking good for 6 hours or longer.
My favorite colors are #16 ( a rich mulberry - plummy pink), # 17 ( a soft blue pink with a hint of plum), # 7 ( a soft coral that softly brightens your natural lip tone), # 14 ( a rich fuchsia) and # 4 ( a plum with soft brown undertones - my every day fall/ winter base). I also like # 9, 10, 12, 13 and 24 but I must use the lip feathering products for these tones or I'll end up with some feathering; fyi, it's not immediate!

This is by far my favorite lipstick/lipgloss/lip stain ever! A crucial step is letting it dry (takes maybe half a minute) before applying a second coat, but this lasts all day on my lips, is comfortable, and super pigmented! It's still my go to for a red lip! ( I have Rouge Gouache)
I Highly recommend this and would definitely buy more!
