Best mini-splurge ever!
-10.02.12
Quick Take: good value, travel size
The eye shadows, blushes and bronzers are well-pigmented so you get stacks of colour payoff with the lightest of touches.
The gel liners look great in the pan but they don't stay on the waterline for any time at all, even when I did use the matching eye shadows to 'set' the colours. They do fine on the lids though.
The lipglosses are not too bad, but a bit on the sticky side.
Overall: This is great palette. Awesome value for money but there were a couple of misses, hence 4 out of 5 stars.

Love this!
-09.19.12
Quick Take: good value, travel size
The blue/purple trio really make brown eyes pop! The brown shades are great for a natural look. Lipgloss is not sticky at all and is unusually moisturizing. Love it! The blush, and highlighters are nicely pigmented and blend well. I had a little hard time blending the purple trio but I'm still trying new methods. Next time I'll try it with a lighter hand or less product. The slender packaging makes it great for travel too. In terms of quality, I find this eye shadow better than tarte and comparable to lorac.

Eh - not the best from Smashbox
-09.15.12
I usually love Smashbox products but am not a big fan of this kit. As usual with kits like this, the eye and cheek powders tend to get loose and mix into each other. It's also a little bigger than I thought it would be.
I think this is a good kit specifically for the "looks" that it mentions, but not so much for general use.
As a plus, the colors are very pigmented and last for a while.

Bright colors
-09.14.12
These products are highly pigmented...super bright. I like the colors but find it difficult to not get carried away with them. Also very messy, the product goes everywhere. The lip glosses are nice. Not sticky and pretty. This was my first Smashbox purchase and I don't think I will go out of my way to purchase this brand again.

This product is one of great value. The quality of the makeup is wonderful. Alittle bit of eyeshadow goes a long way, as the pigmentation is very bright. The first time I used the trio containing drizzle, azul, and orchid, I had to wash it off and reapply. It was very dramatic. I would definitley recommend this product.

nice color payoff, great for travel
-08.11.12
Quick Take: good value, travel size
As another reviewer mentioned, the color payoff is great, esp with the blushes. You only need a very small amount!
I ordered this as I am impressed by Smashbox eyeshadows and I was looking for something that had numerous looks, along with cheek and lip colors, for travel.
I knew that the neutral, beachy look would be a winner for me, but I wasn't sure about the other two. I actually love the mod palette. The palest shade is a great highlighter and the gray is not too dark.
The '90s pallette will take a little more time for me to master, surprisingly. The colors are beautiful but I have not used it yet without feeling too 'made-up.' I think the answer, for a girl who doesn't like to wear a ton of makeup, is to choose either the dark purple or the azure rather than using both.
The lipglosses are pretty. Both of them compliment by fair skintone, although I will get more use out of the nude one.

10 decades of style
-07.12.12
Quick Take: classy and funky all in one.
Beautiful combinations of color, perfect for semi-to-super formal or just a day on the beach. Only downfall, no eye brush comes with it and it's pretty large.

Highly Pigmented Shadows, Blushes, and Liner
-06.16.12
Quick Take: highly pigmented shadows and blushes, tons of product, convenient packaging for travel
This set is phenomenal for the price. Smashbox was one of the first high end make up I had ever used, and I was dedicated to line for a long time (I still have eyeshadows and blushes from few years ago). Then I stopped using Smashbox (don't really know why I strayed), but now I am back and will be buying more. This is the second Smashbox set I reviewed and I am so happy with the items I bought. Smashbox filled this kit with full size products, with the exception of the gloss (which I think might be 1/2 the size of the full size gloss). But either way you get a ton of product for the price. Additionally, the shadows are highly pigmented! And the colors in this kit are universal so you can stay within the color group, or mix and match, which gives you limitless looks in this one kit.
I am not thrilled with the packaging, and would have liked everything in its own container, but really that is a negligible issue since this is perfect for travel and getting unlimited looks from this kit.
I applaud a company that gives you full size items in their value kits for a fraction of the cost. The only other company that comes close to doing this is Korres (their value kits contain full size products) and to some extent, Two Faced (which fill their kits with 1/2 full and 1/2 sample sized products). This is worth money, and I will be buying more from their line. Bravo Smashbox!!!!!

Maybe It's Just Me...

These colors (as much as I generally LOVE Smashbox) are just... uninspiring. Good for a toned-down look, but nothing pops.

Good combination
-06.09.12
Quick Take: good value, travel size
I liked the blushes, but I didn't like how the bronzer was shimmery. It makes me look like a little a kid. The eye shadows were super pigmented, but the cream eye liners weren't as pigmented. The lip glosses were great. I particularly liked the peachy nude one. The darker one looked too intense on my lips. It is sort of inconvenient the way it is packaged though because I'd have to pick up the entire palette to use one thing (eg. the blush). Overall, I thought this was a good value for what it includes.

Great lookbook!
-06.02.12
Quick Take: good value
I considered buying this product for a while, so when it dropped to $39 it seemed like an obvious purchase. I love Smashbox eyeshadow, but the trios are $28 a piece. This is a great buy, and gives quite a bit more than the three looks provided on the cards. I especially like to use the top and bottom eye products in combination, -black and purple or blue and grey with black liner work quite well. The cream liners are especially nice for a smokey look, and the shades work quite well for my fair skin tone. The cheek colors work well alone or together as blush/bronzer and highlighter. It is so easy to throw this set in a makeup or tote bag with a BB Cream, mascara, a blush brush and a double ended eye brush and have everything I need for day or evening!

Travel
-05.21.12
Quick Take: good value, travel size, easy to use
I bought this to use for traveling since it has everything I would need. The 2 blush choices are perfect for my skin tone. Smashbox cream liners are always a good choice. The kit has just the right mix of colors to be useful on a short trip.

Great range of very pigmented colors
-04.12.12
Quick Take: good value, travel size, highly pigmented
I bought this because I will be traveling quite a bit in the next few months, and I wanted a kit that contained all the eye and face colors I would need. Well congratulations to me, because I found it! :-)
With regards to travel, this is very portable. When folded, it measures about 4 inches across and probably 6 or 7 inches in length. As a bonus, it is magnetized so that it stays closed. This has been incredibly helpful in keeping my bag clean during travel.
The main thing that has impressed me about the products in this kit is the pigmentation. I barely have to touch the surface of the shadows and the blushes in order to get color payoff. The first time I tried the blush, I swirled my brush across the top like I normally would, and I ended up looking clown-faced. I've found that I literally just need to tap an edge of the brush on to the powder, and I get enough color. At this rate, this kit will last me forever! The shadows are the same way- lots and lots of pigmentation.
The liners are a consistency that I really like. They are thick enough to give good coverage and staying powder, but creamy enough that they don't tug your skin. I really like the purple- very smoky and pretty.
The only little teeny negative thing I can say is that I don't like the finish on the glosses. They are pretty glittery, which isn't my cup of tea. If the glitter were removed, I'd be in love with them. Plus, the peachy nude gloss is very sheer. On me, it just looks like a very pale, translucent gold (and I am extremely pale, so even light colors usually show up on me).
Overall, this is a great investment, especially at the sale price. You simply can't beat the combination of color range and color pigmentation. If you're going back and forth on this, I say do it!!!

Smashbox master class
-03.01.12
Quick Take: good value
This is a great value and the products stay on really well, but I found it cumbersome to use on the go as I am often taking my makeup with me to apply in the car ,after I stop of course. Better if you are going to lay it on a countertop or vanity

I returned this. The eyeliner doesn't stay in place for more than 30 minutes before it starts to flake onto my cheeks. Good colors but not if you can't use them!

What a steal!
-02.21.12
Quick Take: good value, fun!
I love this collection! There are 3 decades and each has a card that tells you have to apply the makeup to achieve the look that it on the cover. You can also mix and match. I love the 70's Beachy Beauty the best. I have been able to tone it down for work and then make it more dramatic for night. I use with Smashbox lid primer which is amazing! I was surprised that I use everything in the kit and like all of it. Usually when you buy kits there are some colors that are crazy and you would never wear but all of these are wearable for day and night. The only color that is not for me is the darker lip gloss but I can also mix it with the other one so I will probably use it once in a while. All in all this is a great deal!

This palate is amazing. The pigments are really rich, one of the blushes has become my new favorite everyday one and the eyeshadows are extremely usable even when not following the the three designated looks.
