This cleanser works great on my combination and acne prone skin! It gets rid of oil, moisturizes, and doesn't make me break out. The moisturizer smells great and I love how it has 40 SPF but doesn't make me break out.

I decided to try this on a whim. I have very sensitive skin and allergies so it is hard to find a product I can use. I have been using the cleansing oil in the mornings so I can't attest to the makeup removal aspect. But it feels really nice and doesn't dry out my skin. It barely produces a milky lather when I add water, but that is the way oils work so don't be expecting it to lather up like other cleansers. It doesn't rinse off completely but I think that is the trick to keeping in the moisture. It smells like Goo Gone and oranges but it isn't overly strong and goes away quickly. The moisturizer has really impressed me. The SPF is zinc so it doesn't break out my skin! It also smells fruity (better than the oil IMO) but goes away in seconds so it doesn't bother my allergies. It absorbs well and doesn't leave me greasy. So far I am loving this set and I hope it stays that way.

I absolutely LOVE both of these products, especially the cleansing oil. The cleansing oil does lather just a little,when water is added and it so moisturizing to the skin without making it greasy. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Josie Maran's products,they are a tad bit pricey but a little goes a LONG way..worth every penny!

Quick Take: good value
I got this set mostly to try the cleanser. It is nice, but still not solving my very dry skin problem. Nevertheless it is one of the better cleansers that I have tried for dry skin.

Love the cleansing oil, hate the sunscreen lotion

I've been looking for a good skincare line that doesn't test on animals and Josie Maran is one of the few cruelty-free brands.
I normally use Shiseido cleansing oil to take off my make-up and sunscreen at night so I decided to give this a try. The oil works well and smells nice. It's thicker than Shiseido's cleansing oil but seems just as effective at removing make-up. I noticed that another reviewer returned the oil because it didn't foam up. Cleansing oil is not supposed to foam or get sudsy. It doesn't rinse off as well with water as Shiseido's oil but I always use a foaming facial cleanser after cleansing oil so this wasn't an issue for me. The oils smells really nice, like citrus.
The sunscreen, however, smells terrible. Reminds me of cheap fruity-smelling make-up for little girls. Which is a shame because I like the 40 SPF and the texture and weight - light and non-greasy. If they changed the smell I would buy again.

I am an avid user of Josie Maran products. The organic Cleansing Oil is the first product of Josie Maran I have ever returned. It did not foam up nor clean off my makeup to my liking.

This stuff is awesome! It's not greasy, It feels great on your face and hours after. I must look at little strange sitting at my desk during the day just rubbing my cheek, but I can't help it. Can't wait to try more of her stuff.

I ordered this because it was an inexpensive way to try the product after reading how argan oil does wonders for the skin. I must say I am hooked to both products. I love the oil based cleanser removes make-up and cleans my face with out striping it or leaving any residue. The moisturizer has a high level SPF and absorbs into the skin quickly without leaving an oily feeling. Definitly going to order the full size products on this.

i'm already a die-hard fan of josie maran's moisturizer and sunscreen. it has been a regular part of my face for several years now and i have yet to find anything that i like as much.
the little sample of the cleansing oil was new for me and i am enjoying it. i've got dry skin so oils work really well for me. i do need to be careful about overdoing them, because they give me bumps if i don't spread them out a bit, usage-wise, so i don't think i would switch to this for my all the time cleanser, but as an alternative to my cetaphil, when my skin is feeling especially parched and needing of some love, this will be a great addition to my routine.
side note, it makes the head of my clarisonic a little blech, so definitely wash the head regularly with regular soap, so there's no oil buildup.

This doesn't exactly look like what I bought, but anyway I liked the cleansing oil which left my face feeling soft. I was on vacation in Miami and the spf was very welcome and didn't add shine to my already humidity attacked face.

I had been suffering from "adult acne" for a while now. I broke out really bad when i was stressed and I kept trying so many things on my face that just made it even worse and stressed me out even more, which of course made more bumps come. I discovered cleansing with oils (castor and olive) which worked waaay better than the other acne products but, I think it was too strong for my sensitive skin. Then i got referred to Sephora and tried 3 products (didn't help) then i seen the Josie Maran. I took it home (b/c oil seemed to be doing best for my skin) and OH MY GOODNESS!!! I now only have maybe one or two bumps a month (I used to get about 6 to 8 big, red, nasty bumps). My skin feels/looks healthier, it seems as if the dark marks are trying to fade away too. I seriously prayed to find something like this and my prayer was answered, lol. Feel so relieved that it's working.

If you have dry or aging skin, this is a great product. Very few ingredients and effective. The cleansor is very gentle and suds up just a little. The containers are also small enough so work well if you travel alot (which I do!). I totally recommend this product and will buy it again when I run out!

First off, the cleanser is wonderful. I tried it for the first time last night, just because I was curious. It felt a little weird at first rubbing oil all over my face to take off makeup, but once I rinsed it off my face felt so smooth and soft.
The lotion is really nice too, absorbed quickly and added even more softness to my skin.
The amazing part was when I woke up the next morning and my skin, which is usually an oil slick on my T-zone, was still soft and dry and there was barely any oil. I was very impressed.
I just purchased the Origins Zero Oil trio for warmer weather, and will b using that for the time being. However, once the cooler weather hits my skin gets terribly dry and flaky, so during this time period this with be my cleanser of choice. I will probably go with the argan oil for my moisturizer only because my foundation has spf.

The surprisingly light weight spf moisturizer, absorbs easily. Comfortable on you skin. Love the light fragrance of the cleansing oil. Works very well. I regularly use another brand of cleansing oil and will switch to this one because of the nice fragrance.

I love her products. I am slowly trying the whole line. I've been intrigued by the thought of using oil on my oily skin. This was my chance and it's gone well. It washes off nice, takes off makeup, and doesn't feel oily.
The sunscreen is nice and light. Even though it is white and thick when you put it on it disappears. It leaves a nice matte finish.

Clearing oily skin with oil

I have oily acne prone skin and who would've thought cleansing with oil with help with a balancing the skin! I've tried plenty of high end cleansers and the popular acne products. I have not come across a product that works as fast and as well as this one.

Quick Take: silky moisturizing
I just recently discovered Josie Maran products. I purchased this to "try". I don't think it was enough to get long term benefits showing BUT it was enought to show me how great my skin felt after using it. I love how soft and moisturized my skin felt after using just the cleanser. I absolustely LOVE the fact that the moisturizer has SPF 40! This moisturizer absorbs very well and lets my foundation go on smoothly. I'm a fan! I rated 4 stars b/c I don't know what long term benefits I will get from it.
