I'll start by saying I have super fussy hair. Fine but have a good amount of it...always looking for something smoothing but that wont weigh my hair down..used Moroccan oil for years which worked pretty well but often left my hair SO flat...this stuff is great...I love the shampoo/cond/cream...all work awesome together! Little goes a long way...My hair is long..to the middle of my back and ombre at the ends so it's quite dry down there but regular/litle frizzy on the top..if I put any product too close to the roots forget it, but the cream I can put in my roots and it doesn't make it oily etc....great stuff and I love that it's natural!

I returned to the store because it was not appropriate for my hair. I would have kept it anyway and given it to my daughter if it actually had a chocolate smell to it. Disappointed

Quick Take: good value, smells lovely, bouncy. body. flowing tresses., proper moisture for my type of hair
simple. easy. quick. successful. My hair looks, smells and feels excellent. I achieved maximum body without a hooded dryer and a stylist. I was able to do it myself with ease. If you have a lot of hair give yourself extra drying time. I parted my hair in 4 sections and let it air dry for 30 minutes before blowing it straight with rounded ceramic brush. I am hawaiian and black and have thick porous hair. My hair is not relaxed but it is colored not bleached. It is very difficult to achieve this type of body in my hair with blowdrying. I will forever love Chocolat. Time to try it on my baby girls...

One star for the smell

Quick Take: not worth it
I wanted to love this product but it really didn't work for me. I have thick, coarse hair and I wanted something to help calm the frizz but this did not help at all. The shampoo was nice, but the conditioner was awful. I like a conditioner that helps soften my hair, but I could not detangle my hair with my fingers to distribute this evenly. The blow dry cream was the worst. It really dryed out my hair and in the end I was left with straw like hair.

I purchased this kit so that I could try this shampoo & conditioner & not spend $$ for regular sizes. So often I'm left with 3/4 of a bottle of shampoo I really don't like. This shampoo & condistioner however are great. I will be buying the regular size.

Quick Take: good value, great!, happiness in a bottle
I recently took the relaxer off my hair but I'm not quite ready to transition to curly natural. I bought this starter set, not based on any reviews.
I can tell you from the first use, I had already seen a difference! My hair was much more manageable and soft. I do recommend!

This product is wonderful. Recently my noramlly straight hair has started being weird- strange texture, frizzy. I tried this product and my hair now looks smooth and pretty again. Love the scent as well- subtle but nice.

The final product that you put in your hair after washing and conditioning is nasty! I had to use my fingers and comb to get it to go into my hair and not show as white and then when I was done blow drying and styling my hair it felt like there was some gross stuff in it! It just made my hair feel dirty and nasty!! Will try to use just the shampoo and conditioner next time without the final product. The products have quite the fragrance to them and made it a little hard to handle! Thank goodness it was a starter kit but I still feel like I paid too much for it!!

Like Beauty Insider Cito, I was reluctant to try these products as well which is why I purchased the starter set. I am very pleased with the results. After my hairstylist blow dried my hair, she use a flat iron and my natural hair look like it was freshly relaxed for almost 2 weeks. My hair even withstood the Dallas humidity when I was there for a

I had previously tried the Blow Dry Cream in a sample size and thought it worked great and I love, love the fragrance, reminds me a bit of Light Blue. So when I had to opportunity to get this kit, I jumped. Really helped with my hair that waves/curls up in the humidity.

I'm very happy with this purchase. It really helps calm down hair, combating humidity. I buy so many products - some work, some don't - I have to say I like Carol's Daughter products - including this one. I didn't give it the Excellent rating because I don't use it to style as it is intended.

Quick Take: disappointing and not worth buying
I have very coarse thick hair.....I was hoping this product would tame the frizz texture and soften it when I blew it dry. The product is very heavy and left a dull residue on my hair...infact it was difficult to dry it completely. My hair was weighed down and really dull. I returned it asap. This may work fine for thin hair types...not mine!

Quick Take: good value
This trio helped me to accomplish my first successful blowout on my naturally fine, dense, frizzy, kinky-curly hair. Previous attempts with other products met with failure so I was a bit sceptical to try these despite youtuber Denimpixie's favorable review. I was very happy with the results, I did not flat iron after blowing out but instead used a moisturizing styler to twist n curl my hair each night for a week leading to stretched, smooth hairstyles. The compliments I got were very numerous. All this in the very humid, June South Florida weather. I will buy the full sized products and use for the next time I plan to blow out or straighten which is a few times per year tops.

Quick Take: smells great
I tried the smoothing collection and used it according to the directions. I have been natural for 10yrs and have used several *natural* products. I have also used several of the Carols daughter line. After shampooing my hair and using the rest of the product according to the directions, I did not get the "finished" results that I had anticipated by just using the blow dryer. I had to use a few more "finishing" products to achieve the desired results, such as the flat iron and some Lisa's hair elixir for a finshed shine, etc. The smell was so awesome, I did not have to use any perfume!

These products are amazing. My hair has never felt so good. I ADORE the smell. The shampoo is gentle and the conditioner light but effective. The smoothing cream is, for me, quite simply a miracle. My hair is frizzy and fragile. Nothing I've ever used has done anything but weigh it down or dry it out. My choices have been to leave it frizzy and be embarrassed, spend lots of time smoothing it, layer by layer, ending up with lifelessness, or put it up. With these products, though, my hair feels healthy and smooth and, after drying, I need to use a flat iron only on the top surface, so it remains full. The most amazing thing, though, is that for literally days, I wake up, comb it, and it is still PERFECT! Stunning, especially considering it has been in the upper 90s with high humidity. Love, love, love!

I bought the sample pack to try before buying the full-sized products and will definitely use again. I had my first successful blowout (using these products and techniques recommended by denimpixie on youtube) and I'm on day 5 of soft, smoothed blown out styled curls in very humid weather. My experience with other products before left my hair feeling sticky and static-y.
