I'm not crazy about the scent but other than that I love this stuff. I have normal skin, and this left my skin soft, cleansed, glowing, did I mention soft? I have never been this happy with my skin. It doesn't clean that tight super clean feeling behind, which tells me that it isn't stripping my skin of all the good stuff. In short, LOVE this.

This smells great and the idea of this as a cleanser is great... But it doesn't deliver. I have oily/acne prone/combination skin and it responds well to more hydrating cleansers and moisturizers. But this was too greasy for me. Probably better for vert dry skin types. This made me break out

Really does the job
-05.06.13
I was very skeptical about this product before trying it, but it's wonderful. I thought it would not adequately clean my face, because it is so think and doesn't foam, but it really does the job well. My skin feels very soft and hydrated after using it, and it's not irritating to my sensitive skin.

Amazing Product
-04.29.13
Quick Take: milky, creamy
I love this product. It is gentle to my skin yet strong enough to take off water proof eye makeup. I also love the smell!! I had my youngest daughter try this and she too was impressed by the way it took off the makeup plus how nice her skin felt afterwards. Also, it is a great buy for the money since you only need to use a small amount for the product to work.

Love the scent and it cleanses well, too!

Quick Take: milky
I have to say, I really like this. Wasn't sure I would, my skin is breakout prone, sensitive and dry and flaky. Lovely combo. But this is just calming, wonderful smelling, has not made me breakout. I think 2x a day would be too much for me with this, but at night it's lovely. And the little cloth is a great touch!

Thought this would be great.... wrong
-04.21.13
Thought a product like this would be great, it felt nice on the skin and didn't seem to be too bad for my sensitive skin but it seemed to still clog my pores and cause breakout over a week or so of using. It also didn't seem to provide a good enough cleanse.

Very effective and mild cleanser
-04.19.13
Quick Take: gentle, effective
I have very sensitive skin and this caused no issues whatsoever. None of the REN products have, which is rare for me. It does effectively remove makeup, even eye makeup. And, the conditioning it mentions for eyelashes and brows has made my eyelashes seem somewhat fuller and longer-healthier if nothing else. It is quite moisurizing, but not too much for my combination skin.
Even though it is expensive, I can see it will last a very long time. I've used it once or twice daily for a couple weeks now and have hardly made a dent. I would repurchase and recommend. Just be careful not to get in your eyes because it does sting.

Quick Take: too fragrant
This product seemed like the answer to my prayers. However, the first time I used it I knew it wasn't for me. And I don't know if it's a coincidence but after I used it, I had large angry pimples all over my face. It's going back, needless to say.

The Best
-03.13.13
Quick Take: milky, hydrating, smoothing, even melts away waterproof makeup, highly effective, smells fantastic
By far the best cleanser I've ever used! Deep cleaning yet moisturizing, never leaves your skin dry, & smells like a rose garden :) I love how easily it melts away eyemakeup & leaves my eyelashes/brows conditioned. My skin is always super smooth after I use this & it's also great for spot-treatment.

The BEST Facial Cleanser Period
-02.22.13
Ok. The BEST. Natural ingredients and a tub that will last FOREVER, thus making those who are squeamish about the cost settle. I even buy this as a hostess gift and have turned so many onto the miracle that this product is. Why I arrived at a place for purchasing for others as a gift is due to the packaging; as included within is a sweet little cloth that used in the final steps of cleansing. This add on is really sweet and lovely and adds to the whole ceremony of use. And it is indeed a ceremony because one wiff of the send and you are transported to a spa, away from your life and a sink. My waterproof aqua eyes comes off in a flash and my face is left glowing. My skin is sensitive and will breakout if a product containing oil or other ingredients does not agree...and with this not a single blemish. In fact my skin has more moisture and health. There is no remaining residue either. I have used several REN products and this and the Rose Bath Oil are the only that truly left an impression that there is nothing better on the planet. You will not regret this purchase...ever. AND you are about to truly enjoy (ha even look forward to) washing your face.

Face Wash Balm
-02.21.13
Quick Take: soothing, cleansing, healing
This is now my favorite product to cleanse my face with. My skin is dry in the winter, and this has totally eradicated that tight feeling when I wash my face at night. It completely cleans my face and it is soothing as well. I love it. I use my Clarisonic with it too.

Great value
-02.19.13
Quick Take: great value, gentle, effective, great for removing makeup, suitable for all skin types, suitable for sensitive skin
Great basic balm cleanser that is great value for the money. You only need a tiny bit massaged onto a dry face to remove makeup, dirt, and oil gently. I recommend removing it with a hot, wet washcloth to give yourself a little steam facial and gentle exfoliation every morning and night.
This also doesn't cause breakouts and is great for sensitive skin.

Never again!
-02.16.13
Quick Take: milky
I hate to be the hater here since most people are raving about this, but I really hated this product. I have sensitive skin and eyes, so I asked a Sephora skin-care expert for a good make-up remover. I layer on the mascara every day and most of mine are waterproof, so I needed something heavy duty that would work well on my sensitive skin. This product was NOT IT. First off, I hated the feeling of a balm on my face, but I figured I'd get past it if this was to work well. Second, it stung my eyes. Third, it did not remove my mascara AT ALL, it only smudged it around my eyes. Then I used the cloth that came with it to try and remove the mascara, but the balm stung my eyes so bad that I couldn't open them to remove the mascara from my lower lash line. A disaster. I definitely do not recommend this for anyone who actually wears eye make-up. Ugh.

Gentle, luxurious cleanser
-02.08.13
Quick Take: creamy
I've never used a cleansing balm before, but I'm a big believer in them now! It's kind of a novelty when you're used to a foaming type of cleanser. In the winter, my skin is so dry and sensitive, and this has been a great product to use at night. Sometimes I feel a little tight/dry afterwards but I immediately use moisturizer. It's a solid product and a nice change from the foaming cleanser.

The best
-01.07.13
I tend to like cleansing milks, balms, and oils for my skin and have tried many different brands without sticking to any, wasting money in the process. This is a keeper. It's much easier to use than oils because it's not drippy. The texture is a little waxy but it spreads like butter, and feels wonderful on the skin. Most important, it leaves my face well-cleansed and feeling softer and smoother than I can recall.
The only disadvantage is that it doesn't rinse off completely with water, so I have to use a washcloth to wipe off, which makes the routine more complicated. Works great with a muslin washcloth, like the ones from Eve Lom, and exfoliation from the washcloth may be why my skin feels smoother.
The half jar of Bobbi Brown Extra balm rinse I vowed to use up and all the other partially-used bottles of face cleanser littering my bathroom are going away.

Quick Take: milky
I've been dealing with dry patches due to icky Ky weather and went to Sephora for a well known oil thinking it would help. The skin care manager ask is she could help and suggested this instead. I cannot be happier! ALL of my dry patches are gone! Leaves my skin very clean and happy!!! LOL!! I liked this product so much I ordered a serum and day cream. Great product.....will definitely invest in more of the line.

Fabulous cleansing balm
-12.25.12
Quick Take: exfoliating, milky, hydrating, calming, economical
This gentle balm is amazing. Beginning as a thick balm, this cleanser is massaged into dry skin. Make sure your skin is dry in order for the balm to be efficient at removing makeup (even waterproof eye makeup melts off!). When you add a tiny bit of warm water, the balm emulsifies into a lovely milky cleanser that is easily removed. It comes with a cloth for removal, but you can use any washcloth, just make sure the water isn't too hot or else the hot water will strip and dry out your face, and you don't want to counteract the cleansing ritual you are performing!
This balm reminds me of a more famous, liquid cleansing oil that emulsifies with water. I've used that as well and this is much less messy and mineral oil is not the first ingredient in this cleanser, unlike the other one. I'm very glad that I found this as I was going to purchase the other one as I haven't found an oil or balm that is removed as easily...until now. I love how this is a natural cleanser, with lovely ingredients and no awful petrochemicals.
I would consider this balm extremely economical, despite the apparent hefty price tag. You only need the tiniest amount to get the job done, and I expect a tub to last at least half a year, if not longer. Don't be tempted to use more than you need. You get a lovely amount compared to other balm and cream cleansers I've used, so for me out of the several I've tried, this is the most economical and the easiest to remove. I have combination skin and am dry in some areas, with oil and breakouts in others...this cleansing balm evens out and balances my skin.
In LOVE with this balm. Highly recommended.
