For daytime, I use this on top of my foundation just to highlight the top of my cheekbones, brow bones and cupid's bow. As others have noted, it gives skin a very subtle glow with no obvious sparkle or glitter. It also is very easy to blend. I've gotten lots of compliments since I started to wear it!

Subtle glow and softens skin!

I honestly wasn't quite sure what to expect from this, but I'm quite pleased with it. This offers a really subtle glow that shows even under foundation. Not only that, but I've noticed my skin feels much softer when I use it. The first time I used it, I fell asleep before taking off my makeup and the next morning, it still looked freshly applied. Its pretty fantastic. It also really does just soak into the skin. I still like Benefit Highbeam for highlighting, but this is still fabulous. I don't like how expensive it is, but I suspect it will last a LONG time.

I really like this, it gives you that healthy glow, not shiny, just glow-y. I put this on as my primer and then put my foundation on top. I love it!

I bought this 2 months ago and still don't get the purpose of this... It gives me a somewhat glow (more of a sparkly face then glow), great primer though. I use this before putting on BB cream.

I own both the Illuminate and the Correcting primer by Stila. I love the result both primers give me. However, ever since I began using the Illuminate I've received so many compliments on my radiating skin. I'm sold on BOTH Stila primers.

I have tried so many different kinds of primers, I literally cannot even keep track. My favorite before getting this in my birchbox was laura geller's spackle in ethereal, which is still good, but this stuff is amazing. Firstly, it is a primer, and makes liquid foundation stay on perfectly ALL DAY. Secondly, it moisturizes, and thirdly, it gives you a great glow. I don't need bronzer when I use this stuff b/c the color comes through very nicely through my foundation. Overall, it does exactly what the label says it will. I highly recommend it over almost anything on this site.

Quick Take: illuminating, primer
This product does a decent job as a primer, I did notice my makeup goes on more smoothly than if I didn't use it. But I have had better luck with other primers (such as Smashbox), in terms of minimizing pores, makeup staying power, etc. As an illuminator, this product does a great job. I get compliments on my skin often, that it has a nice glow, which I directly relate to this product. My only complaint is that in bright light, the product appears like a fine glitter on my skin.

Love this product. I have to admit that I've never used it by itself- I always mix it with my Nars tinted moisturizer. However, I do love the subtle glimmer it gives me! Very classy compared to other products that are full of glitter.

My skin was a little dry with my current foundation (Makeup Forever) so was looking for a new foundation. However, a makeup artist at Sephora recommended the One Step Illuminate as a primer and it fixed my dry skin problems! I thought that this product might be too "glittery" but not at all. My skin has a nice warm glow with this product and my Makeup Forever foundation now goes on nicely over top. Wasn't thrilled at first at having to buy both a new primer and new foundation, but couldn't be happier with how my makeup looks.

I got this in my June Birchbox and i was skeptical about trying it. I am really really pale redhead so I have to be uber careful about bronzers (i.e. what kind I use, how much i use, the amount of tint) This one was amazing! I use a very small amount and blend it all over my face, before my bb cream and after my primer. It gives me a little light shimmer, a little light color, and this really subtle glow.

This stuff acts as a really good primer. It felt good on my skin, my makeup went on well, and stayed on all day. The problem was that like so many illuminators out there, it has sparkles in it. I prefer ones without as I looked like a child. I almost felt like completing the look by putting sparkly eyeshadow on as well. However, based on this product I am thinking of trying their plain primer as I really liked it.

I wanted something for radiance to go over my primer, under my foundation and tried Tarte, Josie Moran and Nars copacabana and this was the best. Like High Beam it is a little pink but on my warm toned skin it looks perfect under LM TM or Smashbox foundation.

Because I am extremely fair skinned, I was skeptical when I saw how dark this illuminator appeared. I was elated when I applied it and it instantly warmed and brightened my skin in a very natural way. It seemed to soften the appearance of fine lines and blemishes, too. My skin looked great until I washed my face fourteen hours later. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
