Professional Pedi in a bottle

I don't do professional mani/pedis for a variety of reasons, so I do my own. This is the perfect nail base layer when I don't have time to buff my nails out. This product is also great on its own, as it gives a natural color, smooth texture that fills in small ridges and has a soft matte finish; simple, clean and classy.

Butter polish brushes are too small

I love Butter products, but the nail brushes are too thin to do a smooth manicure. I prefer OPI brushes, which are wide enough that three strokes will cover an entire big toenail.

A smooth, matt finish that holds your polish and helps your manicure last. I use this with Butter London nail colour as well as other brands, along with the Butter London Topcoat and
my manicure lasts a week with no chipping. Very pleased.

This polish has such a nice Matt finish that I wear it alone on my fingernails...makes your nails look fine and healthy! And makes them a bit stronger, and protects them!

Polish does last longer with a good base coat! This looks super on its own (one coat) if you don't have time for color. Butter Hardware on top makes this simple manicure last at least a week at a busy job where my hands get a workout with paper and coin! I have noticed that color goes on better, more even and last longer. Pricey but nice.

I will never use another base coat again. This dries super quickly and takes out all imperfections on my nails so I can apply my color smoothly. I wouldn't wear it alone but it's superb under color.

Great Basecoat

Quick Take: fast-drying
This was my first time buying and using a base coat so I really have nothing to compare it to, but I used it for the first time yesterday and fell in love. It is spendy but I think worth the price because the brush is very easy to work with and it dries so fast! It is also a very pretty color that could be worn by itself. This was my first Butter London purchase but I don't think I will be using any other brand of nail polishes for awhile!

A great product--every time I apply it, I plan to put color on top of it but it looks so great alone I never do! Butter is the only nail polish I've run across that doesn't start to flake off after one or two days.

It looks beautiful alone. It creates a great base for any color. It keeps my nails from being stained by a dark color. I don't notice any difference in the smell, but my husband claims that while it still smells like nail polish, it doesn't knock him over like most do.

It does prevent staining. It looks so so on its own on the nail. But I chip within 1 day, no matter what polish I use with it, and with a good topcoat. Unacceptable.

I gave up on using base coats quite a while ago, because all of the brands I had tried didn't get the job done. But when I tried this, I was floored. A base coat that actually works! What I love about this product is that you could wear it by itself for a natural look, and it also helped to protect my nails from getting discolored by polish (BIG PLUS!). Since purchasing this, I've finally used all of the dark polishes I own, the ones I never used in fear of them staining my nails. I don't have to worry about that anymore! This product sure is expensive, but in my opinion completely worth it. I also love that this product is "three-free". Overall, a wonderful product!

Way expensive and and the polish began chipping within a couple hours. I used it with Butter polishes and top coat and with Sephora brand polish. The Sephora polish actually stayed on better. All 5 Butter products went back to Sephora.

I put a lot of time and effort in my manis with free hand nail art and as such, my base and top coats are super important. Nothing disappoints me more than getting a chip on day 2 or 3. Both the Butter London base and top coats are amazing: fast drying and performing. The base protects your nails from staining and the top is super duper glossy. I am on day 6 of this week's mani with but the slightest chip on the corner of one nail. Nothing a quick touch up can't fix.
Granted it is a little expensive but you do get A LOT of product compared to other high end top and tails. Application is a dream with a beautiful formula and the brush is on the thinner side thus allowing for more precise brush strokes. I also like the fact the black rectangular lid slides off to reveal a very comfortable screw top which rests perfectly between the fingers - again allowing for much better control in your brush strokes.
Looking forward to trying out their matte top coat now in compariosn to Essie's "Matte about you".
**TIPS FOR PROLONGING THE LIFE SPAN OF YOUR MANI:
- Wash your nails with a nail brush to remove all oils or residue from your nails and ensure they are completely dry before applying base coat.
- Don't apply the base coat on too thick.
- After applying the top coat on the top of the nail, also pass your brush on the tip of the nail to help prevent chipping. Kind of like wrapping the top coat around the tip of the nail like a protective film. You can also do this with each layer of color polish. I usually apply a 2nd top coat for extra glossiness and a 3rd by day 3-4 for extra life expectancy.

I love Butter London, love love love. It makes your nail a lovely pale beige pink color that looks matte. I usually use it under a Butter London color, but also like how it looks on it own. Of course Butter London is one of my favorite brands.
