BUTTER London
-05.16.13
Quick Take: chip resistent, long wearing, pretty of the moment colors.
Went on without streaks, not quite as fast drying as OPI but did resist chips. Has lasted 1 week, looking pretty good! Like the "3 Free" formulation although at first, I thought if you bought 1, you got 3 free!

Chips galore!
-05.15.13
Possibly not all Butter London polishes are the same (which would be odd to me), but I found that Cuppa, although a really pretty nude, went on well but then chipped after about a day, even with multiple coats of topcoat and a basecoat. Seems like a big waste of money to me, when there are so many other polishes out there that look great and stay on for more than 12 hours. They aren't even chips you can hide, because large portions just flake right off, like it's not even attached to the nail. Not sure what that's about, but I won't be buying anymore.

Tons of compliments on the color from my hubby and my friends, I love it! Stayed chip free for almost a week - nearly an impossible feat for me.

Good product

I usually use Chanel nail polish but I absolutely love this one !I got the disco biscuit and I got so many compliments even before I put it on,it stays on for days and look so fabulous.I did some research on the swatches and decided to choose disco biscuit,it's very glittery and you can either put on three coats to get the full effect or use one coat with similar color as a base coat then apply two layers.Love the less chemical ingredients too!

Heavily pigmented
-05.06.13
Quick Take: fast-drying
I bought Trout Pout, Slapper & Cuppa. Unfortunately Slapper was much darker than I thought and Cuppa was much lighter than I thought. The best thing about the Butter London nail polish might also be a bit of a catch 22, the color is so pigmented that it's not buildable with lighter colors.
That being said, I loved the color on Trout Pout and received many compliments for it! It does dry quite fast and I had to use a couple coats to get a more even finish. I'm also not a big fan of the brush nor the consistency of the polish. The brush feels a bit clumsy and the consistency of the polish is a bit thick compared to their base coat and quick dry top coat - both of which I'm a big fan of as they work really well.

Quick Take: chip resistent, long wearing, fast-drying
OMG! I have never owned a nail polish that I havent chipped within minutes of wearing. I just bought this today and LOVE the color, the formula, and the brush. I was kind of skeptical buying this with the reviews I read on here, all where helpful but I'm glad I bought it! I am now a butter London girl! I think the price reflects how well the product works and I will continue to repurchase other colors!

Yuck
-05.02.13
Quick Take: gloppy thin terrible coverage
This is expensive "high fashion" nail polish. But I could've done better with a cheap drugstore brand. Wish I'd kept packaging so I could send it back but waited 2 weeks to actually use it. It's a strange color, but worse is that it's gloppy and doesn't cover the nail evenly, even with 2 coats. This is so not "heavily pigmented," it's just yucky, like it's about 5 years old.

Obsessed, but...
-05.02.13
Quick Take: fast-drying, unique, peels easily
I recently bought Rosie Lee and Chancer, which are both fun, glittery shades. While I am ultimately a little disappointed with Chancer, which looked more glittery in the store but is still a keeper, I LOVE the look of Rosie Lee. It takes about three coats to get full coverage with Rosie Lee, but each coat dries impossibly fast. I had no problems with the application and the final effect is multidimensional, peachy pink glitter.
My fabulous manicure, however, started to come off in the strangest way! Only three days after painting them, the nail polish came off entire nails at a time, as if I were wearing stick-ons. Chancer is still on my toes, no problem, but Rosie Lee is completely gone. Maybe I need to change my base coat or be more careful not to paint any part of my cuticles, but I am sad this beautiful color lasted so short a time. I love the color so much that I will definitely try again (and again) to get a longer-lasting manicure with Rosie Lee, but I wish it were easier.

Ugh
-04.27.13
So disappointed with this. I bought the Black Knight and the consistency/texture was awful. The polish did not go on smoothly at all and tons of chips the next day. So not worth it. I have two of their non-glitter shades...they go on much nicer but I still find that they chip easily. I am done with this brand. So many more polish brands that are of better quality and a better price.

Great quality
-04.17.13
Quick Take: fast-drying
This was my first time purchasing Butter and I'll definitely purchase them again. I have Indian medium/deep skin and purchased the Bossy Boots (pistachio) and love how it looks. It's a muted color so it's work appropriate, but is still fun for spring. One coat was fine, but 2 will probably look better (I didn't use a base coat). It goes on thick and dries very quickly. I didn't use a base coat so there was some show through, but that might be solved with 2 coats. Also, I didn't notice a strong smell (this has bothered me in the past with Dior and OPI).

The best nail polish
-04.14.13
Quick Take: chip resistent, long wearing, fast-drying, awesome color!
I love Butter nail polish. The colors are terrific, and long wearing. The Hardwear Top coat is the best. I own about 20 colors, but there have been colors that I didn't like, I returned those and got new ones, simple. I get the most compliments when i wear my Butter!

Professional at home manicure
-04.14.13
Quick Take: chip resistent, long wearing, fast-drying
I first bought butter about a year ago liking the 3 free idea but skeptical. Thinking they all use those ingredients for a reason. Right? Well, butter has apparently found a way without. I've found my pedicures look more like professional application than my trusty essie and opi which I've used for years. I do use their foundation and top coat and suspect that helps with smooth application and staying power. I do also let one coat dry before adding the next. My pedicures last as long as I want...or till the nail grows and demands attention as long as I occasionally add another top coat (every couple weeks). Manicures last over a week compared other brands that maybe last 3-4 days.

Slapper, started my growing obsession
-04.11.13
Quick Take: fast-drying
I got Slapper first and I now love Butter London polishes. Very pretty teal color and very opaque. This is another I think you could do with one coat. They are worth the $15 but it still hurts my wallet!

This glitter is nice and opaque, 1 coat is enough but 2 is even better. Definitely a pretty gold and worth the $15 bucks.

Goes on like butter
-04.07.13
Quick Take: chip resistent, long wearing, fast-drying
I bought the powder room set with the base coat, top coat and nail polish remover as well as trout pout and must say I absolutely love it all! I got so many compliments on the color which is so rich and vivid. I also love the fact that none of the products have a harsh chemical smell. I just placed and order for 3 more colors. My nails normally chip within 2 days. My manicure lasted well over 1 week with no chips.

-04.07.13
For the price of these nail polishes, I expected them to be a lot better. I felt that the brush was too large and annoying and the formula for the nail polish just didn't work for me. After a day or two my nails started chipping already. I was very disappointed.

Really interesting and beautiful nail lacquers
-04.06.13
Quick Take: long wearing, fast-drying, chip resistent, beautiful colors, a little difficult to work with at first, unique
Okay, I admit it: I own well over 30 butter LONDON products -- the lacquers, the cuticle oil, base and top coat, etc. I really love the colors butter LONDON's lacquers feature. My favs? Wallis, The Black Knight, Two Fingered Salute, Lady Muck, No More Waity Katie, and La Moss (sp?). I love nail polish and have a lot of experience working with it (personally, not professionally).
I agree with the reviewers who have noted butter LONDON lacquer is thicker than, say, OPI, Essie, or Zoya. You have to work with the butter LONDON polishes a few times to kind of get the feel for it. It can be tricky to spread evenly, so you have be quick on the draw once the polish first goes onto your nail. I've found that pressing the brush hard into the nail creates clumps and streaks. A light touch is better. Stroke the brush lightly over the polish, going from nail bed to tip, and see if you get a good result.
I have never had butter LONDON lacquer chip, and I can go for a week with the same self-manicure. I use butter LONDON's nail fertilizer, followed by their base coat. Then I do two to three coats of polish, and finish up with the fast-drying top coat. I don't know if this makes a difference, but I make sure each individual layer is 100% dry before adding the next. Maybe this is my personal secret to having no-chip nails, but it might be a YMMV thing.
I do recommend butter LONDON. If you're feeling game, just work with the polish to get the feel of its consistency and learn how to apply it. Then their entire color spectrum will open up to you! As well, if it's just thicker than you'd like, there's always lacquer thinner where you can add a few drops at a time until the desired consistency is achieved (don't use nail polish remover to thin polish, though -- nail lacquer thinner is inexpensive and easy to find/buy).
Enjoy butter LONDON!
