Bad brushes
-05.16.13
Quick Take: mediocre
These pretty colors but the polish is only so-so, far from the best polish I've ever used. This could be because of the brushes. I ordered a set of 6 and 4 of them have brushes that are frayed at the ends. Not worth the price, IMO.

Pippa
-05.11.13
Quick Take: long wearing
This was my first julep and I'm impressed . Manicure last a week . The shade pippa is a perfect nude , it's got a slight pink tint which makes the nude perfect and not mannequin like . You will not be disappointed in julep .

Quick drying, easy application, beautiful colors
-05.06.13
Quick Take: long wearing, fast-drying, beautiful colors
First, the colors on the screen appear darker than in the bottle. But don't let that stop you. The colors are beautiful. I have Amy-which is exactly as described, a smokey turquoise. You wouldn't think this would be a neutral but I find it to be a color that goes well with a lot of things: yellow, green, blue, red, coral, black, brown, even purple. I looked for a long time to find a true turquoise and this is pretty close. I also bought Taylor which is more of a blue than a purple, although there is a hint of purple in it which I think makes it a true periwinkle blue. I love it. Right now I'm wearing it on some fingers with a true red color on my other fingers and it they compliment each other nicely. BTW, I bought both of these over a year ago and the polish is still great. I find that I can get by with just one coat and with a good topcoat it will last at least a week with no chips. It goes on very easily. The brush is wide and flat so I only need 2 swipes to get it on the nail completely. Very quick drying. It seems that they used to have more colors. I hope they never discontinue Taylor, as it is a great blue for someone with lighter skin tones, since I find that not all blues look good on me.

I am a Julep Maven so I get Julep polish monthly. I ordered several colors from Sephora that were not currently available on the Julep website and when I received them they were already separating. Not sure why this is. Luckily they could be restored with nail polish thinner but the point is that you shouldn't have to restore a brand new product! Other than that the colors are what I was expecting.

Julep Nail Vernis
-03.30.13
Quick Take: chip resistent, long wearing, slow-drying, 6-8 manicures per nail bottle
I found the nail polishes perfect for my manicures. I use Sephora's top coat and base coat with the polish sometimes but Julep's helps make my manicure last for at least 7 days. I always apply my polish in thin layers and 2 layers work for the dark colors while 3 layers works for the lighter ones. The other reviews had problems with dripping polish down the long brush but I always take the nail polish off the brush first and then dip it in one more time before applying. I never finish nail polishes but I like how I can go through a nail polish bottle in 6-8 manicures. I have almost every Julep nail polish since I'm a Julep Maven. Julep's nail polish dries slowly so I dip my hands in cold water for 3 minutes or use their Freedom Top Coat.

I've tried dozens of brands of polish, from the $1 bottles to most recently Julep and Butter London. Julep far surpasses all. Butter chipped insanely on my nails, even in places I didn't even know polish could chip, such as the center of my nails. Julep, on the other hand (no pun) lasts like nothing I've ever seen. Even on my toes, where polish rubs off from my shoes at the edges, Julep is still there! Will stop buying Butter and stick with Julep. Only thing is the bottle is small and Sephora needs more of their amazing colors!

Like the brand, not this color.
-03.09.13
Quick Take: dull
Tried this polish in the store at the tester station, and thought it was a cute natural / light color. I probably should of realized since I tested it over polish I already had on my nails, it wouldnt look correct.
When I put this on at home over bare nails, I needed about 3 coats just to get it opaque. And the color is nothing special. It is a nice nude but theres a lot out there very similar, for cheaper, that don't require 3 coats. Next time i'll be getting a different color. The polish itself is smooth and dried very quickly. I like the brand- just wouldn't recommend this color.

Quick Take: a clean natural look
I tried this at Sephora along w three other colors. Julep won hands down! It's a great sheer summer color that has lasted over two weeks. My Mani and Pedi will look nice and polished all Summer long.

Bad product
-03.05.13
Too thick to apply, yet somehow 2 coats didn't cover the nails evenly.I specifically went to Sephora to buy this product after reading reviews.
After trying it twice I found it difficult to apply. Took it back and received a refund.

Got the Amber - great color but chips really easily. I really like that it has a more silky satin finish rather than a high gloss.

Even though I was beyond impressed with the sparkle and loveliness of the colors and glitter, this product chips worse than any polish I have ever tried. Very disappointed :(

Not worth it
-02.18.13
The polishes come in great colors and that's about it. They are hard to apply (some formulas are very thick and/or streaky) and the design of the bottle and brush (tall and thin) makes it very hard to control application. Worst pedicure I've ever done! Manicure was ok, but compared to other polishes, still not as easy. Google blog reviews and you'll get a more in-depth understanding of some people's hatred! The concept of their website is genius - monthly boxes of nail polish are hard to resist - but overall the quality makes it not worth the outrageous sale price. There are other things from Julep I recommend - their Freedom Top Coat is definitely amazing and the cuticle oil is pretty good too (roller ball application is key!), but I can't bring myself to spend another dime on these polishes.

I was pleasantly surprised by the color pay-off and the longevity in staying power of the Julep polish. I bought the Marisa color which was described as "mysterious dark, rich cobalt blue with shimmer" and it is exactly that! I'm converted to Julep and can't wait to add some more colors to my collection!

Great colors, but don't last long
-02.12.13
Quick Take: awesome shades, awesome finishes
I own many Julep polishes. The thing I love about them is the variety of colors and finishes. Amazing! They go on smooth too. The thing I don't love is how different the different finishes last, and how hard they can be to remove, which is why I give the four-star rating.
Glitter polish: douse cotton ball with nail polish remover, tape to nail. wait 3-5 minutes. wipe off.
Matte polish: like some reviews said, there is no matte top coat. The matte polish looks AWESOME but boy does it chip easily! If you use the Julep top coat it will get rid of the matte effect, which is kinda lame. The way I deal with this is I wear the matte for a day, and when it starts chipping I'll refresh the matte where the chips are and then put some glitter on top. BLAMMO!
I just got Joan in the mail and it's such a lovely color. I also recently picked up the Julep Polymer top coat (not sure if Sephora carries it) but it is AMAZING. Slap it on and hold your nails under a light bulb for two minutes. Nails are dry and shiny and fantastic.

Quick Take: chip resistent, long wearing, fast-drying
I had been doing my own gel manicures with uv lighting and all for a couple years so I seldom even considered polish. Got "Taylor" as a gift for Christmas and now I'm obsessed. Very fast drying and highly pigmented.

Amaaazing color, but does chip
-02.03.13
Quick Take: unique
I own both Sienna and Natasha, and they are beautiful, very unique colors. I've never found colors quite like either of them. Sienna isn't as gold as shown here, but I like it that way. I didn't put on a top coat for either, but Natasha chipped somewhat less quickly than Sienna did (both after two coats). They go on very well too. Awesome buys.
