No longer hide my nails!

This basecoat has been the answer to my prayers for my dry, brittle nails. Since I have been using this polish, my nails are stronger and prettier. I am at a computer for most of the days, and my nails can now stand up to the challenge! Very happy with this product!

Quick Take: wonderful
This little bottle helped my nails recover from a bad reaction to the gel manis so well that my nails are super long and really strong. I highly recommend this product for anyone who wants to see their nails look healthy and long.

As far as I'm concerned, the most important function of a base coat is to form a barrier between the nail and colored polish, preventing the nails from being stained by the polish. I used this base coat with a Julep polish that was fairly light in color (Hayden). I had severe chipping by the very next day so I removed all product from my nails. In total these products (including Julep top coat) were on my nails for less than 24 hours. I was horrified to find my nails completely stained yellow-orange. (They were completely stain free prior to my use of Julep items.) I do not plan to use this again.

After having this product on my nails for only a few days, my nails were stronger! I have tried many nail routines, but this one gave me QUICK results and I am enjoying having nails that are longer because of this product!

I am fortunate to live near an actual Julep Nail Parlor so I am able to receive services from the company. When I accidentally broke/ripped my thumb nail back in March from dropping a box while trying to catch it, I quickly used this basecoat plus the Julep Nail Growth Revitalizing Serum (Julep website) to help my nail. Great to use when giving your nails a break from using gels/Shellac, too!
*Note: I have pretty strong nails to begin with. These products have helped regain the strength already there after having my nail broken/ripped. Make sure you follow the directions on the bottle!

Quick Take: long wearing, fast-drying, chip resistent
I have about 10 different base coats in my collection and this one is by far my favorite. For the size it's kind of pricey so I only use it when I don't plan on changing my polish for a while. I can't say enough good things about this!

Quick Take: fast-drying
and that is about all. I am a very good person to test longevity of polish. I play string instruments and have a round smooth oily nail bed. The longest I ever got out of a polish was around 24 hours. I chip gel before 24 hours is up, every time. My point, I do not like this basecoat. It does not help polish stay on, I prefer sticky base coats for that purpose. It does help creme polish glide on smooth, but julep shimmer polish goes on terrible over this. Would I buy it again? Possibly for under creme finishes on my toes. I do not need long wear on my toes. I usually get 4-8 days on my toes with this base coat. With my favorite basecoat, I get 2 weeks, but I like how cream finishes apply over this. I would rate it average. Lots of basecoats go nice under cream finishes. My advise, use as thin a layer as you can get.

I love this stuff. It is on he pricey side but it works great. I'm on my second bottle. Its a great nail strengthener and works great as a base coat!
