I love Stila cosmetics. This mascara however was disappointing. It was not waterproof. By the end of the day I looked like a raccoon.

Quick Take: clumps
Stila is one of my favorite brands so I thought I’d give their mascaras a try this one is not worth the money. The brush is ridiculous, It clumps, gave me no volume, and it’s impossible to remove. I already have sparse lashes to begin with. This made me look like I had 4 lashes. Removing it was a nightmare; I had to use olive oil, not good for a contacts wearer. I still love everything else I’ve tried by Stila, but don’t waste your money if you have sparse lashes.

Love the waterproof eyeliner - so I thought "hey - the mascara must be just as good". No - not even by a long shot. First day wearing it, it smudged all over the top of my eyelid and somehow beneath as well. Left me looking like a racoon by the end of the night. Don't make the same mistake I did....

I got a sample of it and was excited to try something new. I naturally have long and thick eyelashes. I didn't like this at all. When I tried to remove it using make up remover, it took forever to come off. Wouldn't buy it, sorry Stila1

The brush that comes with this is nothing like the sample brush. This brush is horrid. The mascara itself is amazing and I feel completely let down by the dumb brush. The mascara is dark black - doesn't smudge - doesn't bother my sensitive eyes - doesn't leave the goopy weirdness in the corners of your eyes. Stila fix the brush!!!!!!!! (seriously I thought the brush was defective the first time I pulled it out due to the lack of bristles and strange lengths sparsly spread around) sigh. If they used the brush like the one in the sample this would be fantastic...

I was very disappointed with this mascara. The brush is very odd and applying the mascara was messy. The mascara itself was clumpy. I don't know if I got a defective package or what, but I returned it!

After spending forever reading reviews, I bought this mascara. One coat didn't do much other than darken, but the second coat created awesome drama with separation, volumizing, and lengthening. However, after a couple hours I had crescent moons of mascara under my eyes. It took a couple days of frustration to realize that this mascara just cannot be used on lower lashes without smearing. Ultimately while the lashes looked amazing, this mascara ended up being far too messy for my every day routine (frequent cleaning up while applying due to splatters and dots), and still had a tendency to smear if touched throughout the day. I, sadly, returned this mascara.

I first tried this mascara as it came in a sample packet. I am now hooked because it has great staying power --truly water and smudge proof in my experience. I have sensitive eyes, prone to allergies especially in the spring and fall, and have had a tough time finding a mascara that does not smudge and give me raccoon eyes within minutes of application --yes, even the water-proof ones run on me. Happy to report that thus far Stila is working great, and it gives me nice long lashes for a defined and finished look.

I really like what this does for my lashes - they are very short and thin and this mascara definitely makes them noticeable!
What I don't like is that I have to use a primer with it or it smudges. The wonky brush makes it messy to apply - I often have to do clean-up with a cotton swab after applying.

I did purchased this mascara couple of months ago, but I did not love it. I left it in my makeup drawer until I got free sample of lancome booster base mascara. Went through my makeup drawer and saw this mascara, thought to try it with lancome base mascara. WOW!! I am falling in love with this mascara again! My short lashes are so riduclous long that touched my upper lid close to brows! I am in LOVE....

I recently found this in a sample size and picked it up because I am always searching for the perfect waterproof mascara. I like Lancome's for wear, and because they make a great blackish-brown shade, but it's not very volumizing, so I usually top it with Urban Decay's Aqua eye -which is too messy for me to wear alone. When I tried this one over my lancome it works wonderfully -I don't care for really black black mascara for everyday wear, and this is a great shiny, very-black color -but I love it over my usual brown mascara for daily wear, and can wear just black for evenings out. It was a little messy the first time or two I tried it, but I just cleaned up the brush with a spare mascara wand, and it's been fine since. I do want to say to all the folks having a hard time removing this mascara, that it does not come off until you want it to -but I have had NO problem removing it with Philosophy's eye makeup remover -which I just tried recently as well. My previous Lancome remover did not work as well. Bottom line -great color, nice volume, long-wearing and waterproof -a little messy, but just have to clean up the brush -and removes easily with Philosophy remover.

I tried this mascara for two days straight. It is impossible to remove without also removing your eyelashes. I don't know, there are plenty of great mascaras out there that work great AND you can remove easily. I really don't think it is worth having waterproof mascara that is this difficult to get off your eyes. Life is too short to mess with this stuff!

This is the first mascara i have found that will hold my lashes in a curl i have short dead strait eyelashes and i always have problems trying to hold a curl. It is sooooo good! The only problem i have ever had is when i bought it full sized my first time it was ridiculously dry like it had been opened and left opened until i bought it?? I don't mind that is is waterproof because i have school all day!

Messy messy, I'm not sure if it's because the bristles are so long but this stuff gets all over the eye. Very hard to put on with out making a mess BUT it does give a nice looking lash, nice long and separated. I just can't deal with the mess.

My Holy Grail of Mascaras...with one exception

I have been searching all my adult life for a good waterproof mascara that doesn't smudge or clump and I found it in Stila's Stay All Day mascara. As others have said, it really does stay all day, in fact, I wore it to a spin class the other day, and after an hour of wiping sweat off, I can report that not one bit of mascara budged!
My one complaint is the brush, you can see a close up of it in the product description and it says it all. It's looks like it lost a few bristles along the way out of the tube. However, I can look past this flaw since it applies without any issue.
As others have said, taking it off is no easy feat. I have found that cotton balls soaked in baby oil are the only thing that helps and I still wake up the next morning with raccoon eyes.

I don't know why people don't like this mascara. I got it as a 100-point perk and it was instant love. I've been on the hunt for a mascara like this: one that lengthens, defines, volumizes, lasts all day and doesn't weight down my lashes!

I really fell in love with it, I think it's a great formula. It held a curl and if I didn't curl my lashes it gave me a great natural curl look. I recommend this mascara to anyone, I think it's pretty close to being the perfect mascara!

This is a product that the first time I used it, I absolutely fell in love and wondered why it wasn't the most popular mascara in the world. It made my lashes huge, thick and long (which I do not have naturally) My first thought was that it gave my eyes the same boldness as a full eye look (eyeliner, shadow, mascara) with just this one product. However, after testing it a bit, I do still love this and it's one of my favorites, but it's got it's issues. It's inordinately difficult to put this on without the brush touching your skin and getting mascara dots, it's pretty much a messy mascara in general. It definitely can clump, and takes a lot of working with and combing through. I think it holds a curl better than most, but not perfect. It's definitely annoying to remove but with a cleansing oil and makeup remover wipe it's no big fuss. It doesn't smudge, but it will flake sometimes. That's another thing, it's a bit unpredictable..sometimes it looks better than others and I'm not sure why. I also don't think this pairs too well with other mascaras, I think because it's so quick drying, another formula just makes your lashes rough and stuck together when piling on top. I definitely say try it because I still use it all the time even though a have a laundry list of grievances. It's not even that I'm just settling for this product, I genuinely would reach for it over some others. I have a friend who used this for the first time and loved it but by the end of the night her lashes were clumped together in a major way but didn't experience smudging or flaking. It's pretty sticky even when dry so perhaps she was rubbing her eyes or something. I'd say it's one of those things you just have to try and see for yourself and weigh out what pros and cons are most important to you. If you have sensitive eyes I'd stray away though.
