One of my favorite foundations
-03.08.13
Over the years I've used a lot of foundations, and this one ranks among the best! The color is excellent, and it blends beautifully. It's a gel formulation, which makes it easy to work with and apply. The finish is light and dewy without being greasy. Coverage is natural -- great for everyday, and long-lasting! For me, with combination skin, it works best with light moisturizer on my cheeks and areas that can get dry, and a dusting of light powder on the t-zone. No need for primer.

Portable, Sleek, Clean

Quick Take: buildable coverage, long wearing
I had the most difficult time getting the foundation to come out of the pen. After banging it against the counter (which ensued a few dents, so don't do that) I finally got to feel what a wonderful texture this foundation has. I originally purchased this for its portability but was pleasantly surprised by the texture and feel of how this foundation went on my skin. I found the best way to apply was with my Shiseido foundation brush or the Sephora airbrush foundation. Beautiful coverage and long lasting.

LOVE
-12.03.12
Quick Take: buildable coverage, long wearing, magical, very blendable
I LOVE Ellis Faas, I adore the pens and the whole concept of her line. I keep the canister, with all the products I could need at my boyfriend’s house, its clean looking and stores easily and doesn’t look like I've moved in. My favorite one of her products is the foundation, particularly the pen. I am very fair/pale and the lightest shade is perfect! I have a lot of high end foundations and Ellis Faas is by far my favorite.

Pretty good foundation

Quick Take: natural glow, long lasting
It has nice, natural glow once set on the skin. Last pretty long. Has a decent coverage for a sheer texture like this. Would be better if there are more colors.

Sheer loveliness!
-11.04.12
Quick Take: smooth, sheer, creamy, light weight, light coverage, skin tone evening, easy to use, lovely
The bullet design: sleek, easy, compact, tidy perfection. The stuff inside--pure delight. I am not going to talk about price--we all know what the cost is, is it "worth" it?? You can ask that of any high end product. Some of the prices are absolutely absurd and you can't say any of it is "worth" it, or can you? You can get good "stuff" for a 1/4 of the price, or can you? I purchased the S101 and it is perfect for my pale, perhaps pinky, yet neutral skin tone. It is not a full coverage foundation, not does it claim to be. It is a lovely, sheer coverage, even your face out foundation. The pen does not dry out if you don't use it daily. I use the soft applicator brush to apply and then blend out with my fingers, my great stubby Sephora foundation brush or my new love--yes a Beauty Blender! I keep my foundation bullet upside down in the Faas pen holder and it has been perfectly ready to go with 1-2 pumps even after sitting unused for days. I love the way or it feels or should I say doesn't feel. Perfectly natural comfortable foundation! thank you Ellis.

Like, need more colors
-06.24.12
I tried this foundation based on Lisa Eldridge's recommendation. It's an excellent foundation. Sheer but buildable, texture is light and smooth, delivering even coverage for my normal/combination t-zone skin. I like almost every aspect of this foundation except for the lack of shades - it needs to have more yellow/neutral toned shades. If you can find a shade to match, this could be your perfect foundation.

Very nice sheer buildable foundation
-04.02.12
Quick Take: natural
I really like this foundation. It does not oxidize badly and works well with oily skin without creating that unnatural matte finish. It is easy to use and apply and comes with a replaceable cartridge. The brush may be ok for application but I blend with a beautyblender for that perfect finish. It did not break me out. Time will tell as to whether it clogs pores badly but the ingredients aren't comedogenic. I am NC15-20 and purchased S102. It is slightly too dark for me but should be perfect in the summer. I can however blend it to invisibility, so it isn't bad. I have found this does cling to the dry spots on my face where I am treating acne. I moisturized more heavily today and it worked better. I would not use if your skin is flaky though. As an FYI, the odd numbers are pink toned and the even numbers are yellow based. In summary, I really like this foundation. It's the best I've found for sheer, buildable coverage that works with oily skin prone to acne and does not oxidize. As for the price, I'm not sure. $65 is steep for such a small amount of product. I am trying Estée Lauder Invisible Fluid Makeup tomorrow and if that is better, I will purchase that instead next time.
