Rita Hazan Foaming Gloss

What it is:A shine-enhancing, color-correcting foam gloss treatment for color-treated or graying hair. What it does: Keep your locks looking their best with this gloss that keeps your color vibrant and hair glossy between color treatments. It's the very first foaming gloss to boost shine and maintain the integrity of your color all in a lightweight foaming formula you can use in the shower. Try any of the three formulas to suit your specific needs. Foaming Clear Gloss Ultimate Shine adds a mirror-like finish to hair. Foaming Color Gloss Tones Down Brassiness color-corrects to tone down orange and red tones, and eliminates yellow from gray hair. Foaming Color Gloss Enhances Golden Tones corrects color in dull brown and blonde hair and restores richness and warmth to shades of red. What it is formulated WITHOUT:- Parabens- Sulfates What else you need to know: Rita Hazan's clients have been asking her what they can do to maintain their color all month long. Before she created this product, their only choice was to come back to the salon for a gloss. So, she created a gloss that her clients could do at home. First, she chose foam since it's easy to apply, and then she started testing formulas and shades until she came up with this variety of perfect formulas. This product is safe for pregnant women and women with keratin treatments. The formula does not contain ammonia, peroxide, or alcohol.

Returned
-04.26.13
Had to return since it did not do its purpose; it did not correct the tone of my hair. this made my hair soft and shiny but I had to use A LOT. I used it for about 5 showers and the bottle was halfway done when returned.

Not great
-03.18.13
It does make my hair a little bit glossier, but the results don't last and it definitely weighs my hair down and makes it greasier the day of use. I experimented with using different amounts, length of time left of hair, etc. but I just couldn't make it work that well for me.

Rita Hazan to the Rescue!
-03.15.13
Quick Take: easy-to-use, natural, color-correcting, smoothing
After feeling self conscious about my brassy blonde for too long, I decided to give this Foaming Gloss a try; and I'm so glad I did. This product is a life-saver! Within two uses, the ugly, brassy tones have faded away. As a bonus, my brittle, bleached ends have smoothed down and my hair feels weightless. I apply a little less than a tennis ball size amount of foam and leave in for 4 minutes.
The best part about this product is there is virtually no odor, so it blends nicely in with my normal shampoo/conditioner routine. Definitely give this product a try!

The worst
-03.11.13
Quick Take: heavy, badly formulated, destructive
I used this twice, and both times it was awful. I followed instructions, and was left with limp, stringy hair. It coated my hair heavily, dragged it down robbing it of all body. I had to use baking soda and vinegar to strip it off and get my usual full, nice hair back. Waste of money, a lousy product. Would rather have taken the $$$ and thrown it out the window.

Tone Me Down
-03.09.13
Quick Take: easy to use
First couple of times I used it like a volumnizing foam on my dry hair to add body.,Then I read the instructions on bottle and see that you put it on wet hair, leave it on a bit before you rinse it out. I haven't tried it like that yet because I have other product I wanted to try first.
I really liked the Bumble & Bumble Color support shampoo and conditioner in green for cool brunettes- but it appears to have discontinued.

Beware!
-01.29.13
I used the purple one to reduce yellowing and braissiness in my highlighted hair. I left it for 3 minutes after shampooing and rinsed as per instructions. It darkened my highlights and made my hair look more brassy! Would recommend trying it on a small lock of hair before u apply this so as to avoid a fiasco like mine. Am hoping this is not a permanent color change and hair is getting a bit lighter since I'm now washing it daily to get the gloss off. However my highlights don't look the same...there are darker and brassy in shade! Very disappointed.

Smooths hair, simplifies the blow dry
-01.03.13
Quick Take: smoothing, time-saving, creates shine
My curly hair takes 30 mins to blow out, so I look for products that reduce that. This rinse is easy to use, doesn't take long and probably saves me 10 or 15 mins with a blow dryer. With Rita's smoothing foam, I can air dry my air until it's almost dry....without frizz. Then it takes far less time to bow out, but leaves my hair looking great. Honestly, I was a little nervous the first time I used it because it definitely doesn't make yor hair feel soft in the shower. But you'll notice it once it's dry. Worth the money if you're looking for smoother hair in less time.

Not too impressed
-12.23.12
I used it a few times, but my hair didn't look much different after it. My hair is very dry and damaged and I had a professional gloss done, which really helped my hair, but it was quite expensive to do every month so I hoped this would produce results. Sadly, it didn't do much

-12.15.12
Hi everyone! I really want to try this gloss bc of the awesome reviews but has any one with dyed red hair tried it? Should I order the clear or the one for brassiness correction?

Foaming Color Correcting Gloss
-12.15.12
This foam is just okay. It does give my shoulder length hair a bit more shine, but as for the brassiness in my dyed blonde, which isn't tons, but it seems to not tone that down at all. It says to use one pump, I need to use about 4, and I wash my hair every other day and leave it on for the full 5 minutes. I would say this product is not worth the money, and the price should be cut in half.

Works on African American Hair
-12.13.12
I bought this to attempt to pull out some natural golden/brown highlights in my natural, African American hair. I applied, this, let it sit for 10 minutes, and then rinsed and conditioned as normal. In the next few weeks I really noticed a difference. I didn't notice any negative affects such as drying or anything. Therefore, I would reccomend trying this before a harsh dye if you want a little pick me up. I should also mention I did a henna treatment about 8 months before this and I did not notice any bad effects.

Shiny But No Less Brassy
-12.10.12
This definitely needs to be used before conditioner as it does make hair feel dry. For myself, it did increase the shine of my hair, but the brassiness was still there.

Salon Quality Gloss
-12.04.12
I purchased this product on a whim after I had been considering getting another gloss at my hairdresser. I am so glad I picked this up. For the cost of one salon gloss (not including the blowdry), I purchased this bottle which will last me a long time. I use it once a week, and my hair look fabulous for days and through multiple blow dries as well. It does not weigh hair down, actually giving my hair a bounce and shine that it otherwise doesn't have.

Ok results, but too expensive
-11.27.12
Quick Take: color-enhancing, overpriced
I got the ash-enhancing version. This does tone down brassiness, even in brunette hair. The results really only last one or two shampoos. and I have to wash daily. So, this product was too expensive for me to use often. Now I'm a redhead so I can't use it, but it wasn't worth returning, it just isn't worth repurchasing unless the price drops.

LOVE
-11.24.12
Quick Take: fabulous
Rita Hazen Foaming Gloss is an amazing product that has allowed me to wait an additional 2-3 weeks between colors (red hair) without the dull and orange-ish looking tone I typically had as I neared time for re-color.
