Living Proof Restore Revitalizing Spray

What it is: An ultra-lightweight revitalizing spray that instantly polishes and perfects dry or damaged hair, while defending against heat and UV damage from cuticle to cortex. What it does: Restore Revitalizing Spray features a proprietary complex of pro-vitamins, UV absorbers, and PolyfluoroEster to instantly add shine, smoothness, and polish while increasing hair's resistance to breakage. Safe and effective on color and chemically processed hair, it can be used on both wet and dry locks. What it is formulated WITHOUT:- Parabens- Sulfates- Synthetic Dyes- Phthalates- GMOs- Triclosan What else you need to know: Heat and UV are major culprits of damage. Heat tools are hotter than ever, some reaching 450-, which is twice as high as the boiling point of water. This heat, applied to wet or dry hair, "boils" the water content of the hair, causing fractures in the cuticle hair's defense layer. UV further degrades the cuticle and damages protein in the cortex. The combination leads to dullness, split-ends, and breakage. Restore Revitalizing Spray creates a shield to regulate the "boiling" effect of heat tools and defend against UV damage, all day long.

Body & polish
-05.07.13
Quick Take: lightweight, gives body
I like the lightweight feeling of this spray. It gives me some extra body to my fine hair when I use it prior to flatirons or curling irons. Seems to hold up in the humidity of South Florida as well. I'm on my 2nd can.

Awesome for chemically treated hair
-05.05.13
Quick Take: lightweight, non-sticky, easy to use
I have really coarse hair and had issues with dryness and split ends. This product worked wonders and helped to restore my hair. I used this with the targeted restore cream. Awesome combination, my hair was instantly soft and silky after styling.

In love with this line
-04.07.13
Quick Take: ok
I usually use the straight heat protecting spray by Living Proof and decided to try this one because it goes with the Restore line. It definitely does what it says but I do prefer the Straight because it leaves hair silky as you heat style. This product protects from UV rays as well as heat and it smells nice.

-04.05.13
Quick Take: easy to use, lightweight, non-sticky
i have no option when i came to sephora because i have to go on a beach trip for a couple days. so i sprayed my hair everytime i swim in the beach. i guess this will work like sunscreen for your hair towards UV harm. I don't really know if it really works on max or not i also dont know how many SPF is this product contain but i always appply it after i swim or whenever i remember, but after i came back from the beach, my hair is not so damaged, i recommend this for your beach trip!

Awesome Spray!
-02.28.13
Quick Take: lightweight
This spray works great when blow drying or straightening your hair. I used the living proof shampoo and conditioner along with this spray, and it leaves your hair so soft and smooth without looking oily. I would recommend this product to anyone with thick frizz hair.

Great, light feeling heat protectant!
-02.22.13
Quick Take: easy to use, lightweight, non-sticky
I took one star off for it being really strong when you first spray it.. But honestly it goes away. My problem with a lot of heat protectants is it weighs down my hair SOOO MUCH and it makes it extremely greasy. But not this stuff! it's very light and gets the job done. And your hair won't be so saturated with product that you can use any other styling serums that you want after! :)

-02.17.13

Makes damaged hair shiny!
-01.31.13
Quick Take: lightweight, non-sticky, easy to use, great for heat styling, smells great
I first tried this spray after a week-long marching band camp this past August, and when I sprayed it onto my dry hair, I looked like I had someone else's hair! My hair is very thick and coarse to begin with, but ever since high school, I've been getting highlights and lowlights. This spray is great for protecting your hair when heat styling, and also seems to protect my hair from the sun's rays. I would like Living Proof to specify the exact level of SPF that this spray is equivalent to, if the spray has the kind of UV protection that it claims to have (and seems to actually have, after several separate uses). Also, the alcohol-scent of the product only lasts for a few seconds, while the product is propelled out of the container; afterwards, my hair smells great for the rest of the day!

Quick Take: great
This line is fantastic. It does what is says. The restore actually does greatly repair the damage. The restore srpay is great for protecting against heat damage. I use it before flat ironing and notice a significant difference in the result. Much smoother looking.

Don't fall for the rave of it all......

Honestly you can get better results from a serum. way to over priced. it does not protect from heat. makes hair feel sleek but definitely notttttt worth the money.

Kind of undecided on this one....
-11.19.12
First of all, it doesn't really impart the kind of shine the sales associate seemed to talk about. But it DOES polish fly-aways and when used as part of the entire group of Restore products (shampoo, conditioner, UV heat creme) it does kind of act as a "finishing touch."
My main concern with this spray is that one of the very first ingredients is alcohol, which could potentially dry out the hair. I've heard and read that it's used as a propellant and once it's out of the canister it kind of dissolves before it gets to the hair. I'm not convinced, though, as this leaves my hair a slight bit dry when used by itself, without the rest of the line.
Overall, I'm not really sure what this spray is really supposed to do (the salesperson said one thing, the canister says another and the description here yet another thing....) I feel like this would be best skipped if you're in doubt about which Restore products to try. The shampoo and conditioner really do seem to revive dry hair, but this seems like a puzzling waste of money.

Yes it's a pricey line, but...
-09.23.12
I have switched to using only living proof products after trying just about everything else including drugstore items because my hair is damaged from color and hot styling tools, plus it is corse from going gray. After using living proof for a month, the difference in my hair is amazing. It took a couple of weeks for the transformation, didn't happen with first wash and style. Spray is supper with flatiron and I do not have to wash everyday, that saves money and time.

My hair is so shiny :)
-06.20.12
Quick Take: lightweight, non-sticky, adds shine, smoothing
I have super dry/damaged hair so I usually stick with creams and oils to add moisture, shine, manageability. Aerosols and the like usually turn my hair to straw, but after reading the purported benefits, I gave it a whirl. I was not let down! This definitely lives up to its polishing promises, and even gives a bit more hold to my styling. I'm not entirely sure about this spray protecting from heat and reducing breakage, but it sure makes my hair look and feel nicer. All this comes without really feeling or looking like I have product on my hair at all, even when I layer it on! I'm definitely pleased.
