This kit is great -- I buy one every year when it comes out. Some fun stuff that I wouldn't try without having it mixed in here and some essentials I would totally buy on their own. Great value and great for summer travel -- the small sunscreens are easy to fit in your 1 qt plastic bag :)

I just received this in the mail today and was blown away when I opened the box. This is such a good deal, and worth every cent. You get a TON of deluxe sample size products, and all really useful, popular stuff. Not to mention the totally cute and reusable case that it comes in!

Quick Take: travel-friendly, good value, must buy again, good gift item
Great buy with variety and a cute case for light weight storage.
Favorite products in the box are: dr jart bb cream, light coverage nice texture, blends in nicely for light medium skin. Fresh lip balm, 1/2 of a full size, great scent, light flavor, PTR, Ole Hendricksen and Sheseido all have nice sunblocks for you to sample all of which i would buy.
Have yet to try all the other products but definetly got my $30 worth, should last throughout the summer and then some.

Quick Take: good value, travel-friendly, best for lighter toned skin
I have been dying to get my hands on this kit and I'm glad I did. I really do think it's a good value considering what some of these brands sell for. I also think that the samples could stand to be a little bigger, but I can already tell that some products go a long way. I'm going to piece it apart and talk about the most impressive products.
St. Tropez- This gradual tan moisturizer has a really nice smell and smooths out nicely. It does not get sticky or stain your hands orange. It will stain fabrics if you don't let it dry before putting it on. I think it works well and I love that it's not greasy. You do need to wash your hands after just so you don't tan them. I think the 2.5 oz bottle will last a long time.
Smashbox SPF 15 primer- I love this product! Leaves skin silky smooth. So smooth it's hard to tell if you blended it all in. Great under powder and liquid makeup. I even put it on my lids! Wish there were more of the .25 oz of product. This one may not last long even if used sparingly.
Shiseido Urban Environment SPF 42- Tiny .23 oz bottle. Sunscreen came out VERY LIQUIDY. I was not expecting that. Has a faint alcohol smell mixed in with a floral scent. Smooths on well though and absorbs into the skin. I can't decide if I like it or not.
Shiseido Ultimate Skin SPF 60- Nice magnolia like smell. Very liquify. Goes on smoothly and absorbs into the skin. Neither sunscreen seemed to leave that white sunscreen veil behind. Same size as the other bottle.
Dr. Jart BB cream SPR 45- I absolutely love this! However, it is much too light for my skin tone, It applies well and blends beautifully. I would throw away all my other products if I could use this one. Very moisturizing and good coverage. .33 oz bottle.
Boscia SPF 15- This is a great formula. Smells fresh and floral. Goes on smoothly and controls oil while moisturizing and protecting the skin. Along with the St.Tropez and Smashbox samples, I would gladly add this to my skincare routine.
Origins SPF 15- This moisturizer has a lovely sheer tint to it that really even out my skin tone. It comes out of the bottle white but turns into tinted moisturizer on your skin. .5 oz isn't enough for me. I'm buying it full size. It would be like a bb cream for me. Smooths on really well. However, I wish it were a little darker. I'm going to see if it comes in a darker tint.
Supergoop SPF 30- Nice sunscreen but still too greasy for me. Smells good. Probably better for the body. Plus I love the matte packaging.
Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15- I've been dying to try this and I'm glad I did. It is a very rich balm that I rarely have to re-apply. Comes in a cute metal tube and smells little like L'Occitane and Provence's Lip Balm. I am dying to try one with some color to it.

Wish they would put out an all natural sun kit
-05.01.12
Quick Take: need a sensitive skin/natural sun care alternative
I got the email announcing this box and rushed over to the site to check it out. I think I added it to my cart and thought it over for about 2-3 days. In the end, I decided to skip it. Other than Supergoop and the lip sugar treatment, there isn't much else in the box I want to try. I might even hesitate to try lots of the stuff as chemicals irritate my sensitive skin. Since I switched to all natural skin care, my redness has all but disappeared. I have to use mineral powder foundation too, in a formula without bismuth. So if Sephora put out a kit geared towards those of us who really do have to watch the ingredients we put on our faces, I'd jump at it. (Might be a long shot, as Sephora needs to add more all natural products and brands in general. Thus, I buy mostly eyeshadows and lip products from them). Anyway, I know this isn't a direct review of the kit as I haven't tried the products themselves, but it is a valid criticism, I think. I'm hoping someone at Sephora will see this and they'll put out the natural skin care kit next year. Fingers crossed.

I bought the similar kit they offered last year. LOVED IT. It's been nearly a year and I still haven't worked through everything. The sample sizes are great fro stashing away in purses, beach bags, your car, basically everywhere.
Definitely recommend this to everyone.

Great value, anyone who says otherwise is cheap.
-04.30.12
Look at everything you get in this kit!! Of course they are not all full sized, the entire kit, including the train case is only THIRTY BUCKS! That's how much ONE blush brush would run you. I buy this ever year and throw the SPF products in my diaper bag just to have on me at all times. This is GREAT deal and it makes me angry that some people get mad because there isn't 10 full sized bottles in there.

Quick Take: good value, travel-friendly, pocketbook friendly
This train case full of "trial size" products are great for sample junkies like me who are looking to try products withOut wasting time or money.. So far so good on most of the products I've tried. Granted, no one will be100% satisfied all of the time but I think there is enough in this case to come close. I have fair/ semi- sensitive skin and have not had any problems with any of the products yet.

good with the bad

Quick Take: travel-friendly
Some of the products are fabulous and I would not hesitate to buy the full size product. Others contain questionable chemicals and, therefore, I will not use them. I am a firm believer in all natural products and while this kit does contain some all natural products, it also has others that are not and will go to waste in my household. If you are not super strict about what you put on your skin, then this is a great buy. Otherwise, skip it.

Awesome, but not practical
-04.28.12
I LOVE anything that comes in a set and I have fair, damage-prone skin but I haven't yet identified a sunscreen that doesn't appear greasy and gross. Therefore I purchased this set and impatiently waited to receive it. I see other reviewers are overwhelmingly positive about the set and I see why. There is an awesome variety of products in this set. However, I found them to be way too small to be practical for the price. I'm sure the set it worth the cost when you look at the regular price of the items and calculate the cost per ounce, but in reality you'll only get a day or two of use out of each sample. Also, the largest sample, the tanner, is in medium/dark which just isn't going to look right so I have to return it. I agree it's a great set, but it just isn't right for anyone who uses a lot of sunscreen or who is too pale for a medium/dark sunless tanner.

-04.27.12
Quick Take: travel-friendly, good value, good products
This kit is fantastic! I knew upon ordering there were about 5 items I don't like and wouldn't use but purchased anyway and I'm very happy I did! Even though these are sample sizes they are all variations of a deluxe size. The combination would easily carry me through the summer though I will still likely end up buying a full size of a few things that is the point afterall! The case isn't super sturdy but it does look nice and I now use it to stand up my brushes, brush cleaner, and setting spray in and it keeps dust off and looks nice. I have been loving so many of the products and I'm very happy with this kit.

great sample kit
-04.27.12
Quick Take: travel-friendly, good value
this is a great price for the money. I have tried a few of these already. I have to say. I would never have tried most of these without this sample kit. As for the travel case that comes with it. i would never travel with it, but it does great to hold the extra products or to even take on a weekend get away.
many of these are sealed and so you dont have to worry about them getting every where. The date that each item expire in either a year all the way up to 2 years. So you will have plenty of time to use all of these.
These are great to give away to friends and family as well. Great value

Summer Must-Have!
-04.27.12
Quick Take: good value, travel-friendly
This year's kit is a great variety of products, and I will be able to try everything out and see what works best w/o paying full price for an item I don't like. I love the size of everything to stash in purses, desks, car, etc. I plan on using the traincase to hold my manicure supplies & polish. Best $30 I have spent in a while.
