Amazing Primer Even for Oily Skin!!!

I have very oily skin! After an hour or two I will already have to blot! This primer may be made with oils but it really works! Hourglass is a great line and this primer is truly perfect! It controls oil without drying out your skin! Reduces redness and smoothed EVERYTHING out!!! Must have!

I have dry, sensitive skin that needs moisture & protection. This primer leaves my skin feeling dewy & "smooshy," like it was when I was in my 20's. I can't do without it. Love, love, love it!

I have very sensitive skin. So sensitive that most cleansers and makeup break me out. I decided to try this primer serum in hopes of creating a barrier between my skin and my makeup, thus reducing the chances of a breakout. Not only, after a few months, has it helped with that barrier, it has also taken the place of a lotion. My skin looks and feels better. It's neither oily or dry. But here's something I wasn't expecting. When I apply the serum, I just swipe it over my lashes and lids. My lashes have grown in leaps and bounds over the last few months. I am 41 and my lashes are as long and lovely as when I was 21. Strike that, longer than when I was 21. My lashes were looking a bit short and light to me. I was rolling over the idea of getting one of those prescription lash enhancers. No need now. I have those anime lashes that hit your sunglasses and are so deliciously annoying. I am floored. I will never stop using this product! Has anyone else had a result like this? Is it a fluke?

I feel like I'm using a serum/moisturizer.
This feels so good on the skin. I love to apply a night cream and then this over it before I go to bed. You wake up with the softest skin. I love it in the morning..I use a serum, then apply this...and I'm out the door. I use just a bit of makeup...my skin looks great since I started using this...

Quick Take: fast-absorbing, great scent, moisurizing
I bought both the No 28 Primer Serum and the Mineral Veil primer. I thought I'd use the Serum for evenings adn the Veil primer for daytime. Well, my skin just loves the Serum primer so much that I returned the Veil Primer. A little dab will do ya with this stuff. It glides on easily, and may feel a tad oily at first, but quickly gets soaked into the skin. I've been using it for a couple of weeks now, and no breakouts. The scent is delightful to boot! This is a keeper!!

I've tried other primers and this one is simply the best. You only need a little bit and it smooths over your entire face. The only thing I don't like is the smaller bottles' pumps sometimes don't work and if the bottle lays on its side too long, it can leak.

This is now the only primer I use,and I have a ton of them. This really helps my dry skin not look so dry. It works well under any liquid foundation and keeps it from settling into lines. If you use a drying foundation like Estée Lauder Double Wear,as I sometimes do, this will keep it from drying out your skin and keep it from looking so mask-like. It's on the pricey side but it lasts forever. It only takes a little to cover your whole face. I even use it on my eyelids and it keeps your eyeshadow smooth and crease-free. I find that I use less foundation and eyeshadow with this underneath. And for people my age, less looks better.

Quick Take: worth every penny!
I bought the "tester" size of the serum, as well as the smaller size veil primer. I use the serum more frequently since this serum allows me to skip the extra step of a moisturizer to my morning routine. This serum does it all! Just a little dab will do ya! It goes on a bit heavy but my skin clearly loves it and absorbs it quickly. I never thought a primer was really worth buying but this one is a keeper. I love it! Although I don't wear much makeup, my blush stays on all day with this and I actually stopped using my under eye concealer since my skin looks so much smoother and the tones are more even.

Quick Take: lightweight, smells wonderful
The SA at Sephora gave me a very generous sample of this product, even though I wasn't really interested in it (I love their original primer and use it all the time). She felt I really had to try this product as it was so wonderful. Well, it smells great - has a fabulous herbal smell that "seems" natural rather than an add-on. And used as a serum at night, it feels very much like it is beneficial - it has an oily sort of feel and I'm someone who loves using facial oils at night. I just can't imagine using this as a primer under foundation, though...I'd be too worried that my foundation would slip right off or start to break down. And until I have a bit of spare time to "play" with No 28 as a foundation primer, I'm not going to take that chance. As a serum, I do like it though I'm not really sure it does all that much except smell nice and add a bit of extra oil and I can get that from far less costly products.

Best primer for dry skin

This primer makes my moisturizer last twice as long, as well as making my face feel and look doughy - like when I was young! I have extremely sensitive skin and this not only doesn't cause any reactions, it actually helps my face stay clear and rash free. It is hands down the best product I have ever used to hydrate my skin and keep my foundation from causing dry, patchy, chalky spots. I am never w/o it and use it every day - whether I use foundation or not.

Quick Take: expensive, sticky, not hydrating
I was talked into giving this a try at my local Sephora when they were out of my usual Smashbox primer. (An unfortunate very common occurrence at my local Sephora stores.) Wouldn't you know it, the woman turned out to be the Hourglass Rep! Anyway, this did not quite work for me. This primer serum is like clear molasses and did nothing to help hydrate my skin. It just sat on my face feeling like a sticky mask and made it difficult for my tinted moisturizer or BB to "grab" on to anything, Whenever any of my hair would get near my face it would stick to it... I used only about half a pump and still got these same results. Definitely not for me, and not worth the high price!

This primer is a lovely alternative to a lot of others on the market. It is oil based, so if you are really oily or acne prone, this might not be the best primer for you. But if you have dry skin like me, this could certainly be a HG product. Not only does the Hourglass serum prolong the wear of my makeup but helps create a dewy finish. With this primer, I am able to wear a host of different foundations without them settling in pores and looking patchy as the day goes on. And the best part about this primer? It has myriad anti-aging properties. I'll definitely repurchase this when I run out.

I was drawn to the natural ingredients without parabens.
I like that this is filled with 28 different vitamins for my skin.
It is an oil consistency and feels good on my sometimes dry skin.
I have only been using it for a few weeks; but I have notices my skin looks moist/dewy after applying. I do put a bit of moisturizer on after applying this primer; then my foundation.
I am happy with the results so far!

Quick Take: smooth, water resistant
Made my skin feel soo soft after putting it on! Make sure you let it dry completely before putting your foundation! I bought this because the man working at Sephora said it would make any foundation I use waterproof/ or resistant? I use bareminerals and went to the beach after and it stayed on fine!
