Silky!!!

I love this primer as much as some others that contain ingredients that I do not want on my face...how do they do it? Buy it, you won't be sorry.

Give it time!

Quick Take: long-lasting
I've heard so many great things about this primer and I was just about to run empty on my Benefit Porefessional Primer (which I really like!)... So I decided to give this a go. (Same price anyway). The moment I started putting this on my face... I was turned-off by the lack of an even application. It wasn't as smooth as I expected. I applied it to my entire face with a pea size amount? I let it set for a couple minutes and then went on with my usual foundation routine using a buffing brush. I also set it with a powder. I checked my face throughout the day and I did not see my pores significantly refined or less visible... And I felt like my foundation was starting to slowly wear off? This made me think this primer was a bust because it didn't even keep my foundation in tact!
However, I was actually a bit lazy to return it so I used it again the next day. It didn't make my skin look worse or anything so I just decided to use it. Plus I have work (9 hour shift M-F) and I'm also not the type to touch up my make-up throughout the day.
Anyway, I kept using this product for about a week straight. I wore a BB cream over this instead of a foundation and I noticed that my make up didn't budge?! (Keep in mind I don't do touch ups and I have oily/combo skin). Maybe it was the foundation that just didn't mix well with this primer, I don't know. I wasn't sure if it was the foundation or the BB cream that made the difference but I switched off while still using the same primer.
I've come to the conclusion though that the first day I used this, I remember using a large amount of primer and of foundation. So maybe that's why it started to wear off? Because there was too much product and it didn't set properly? Either way, I'm not sure if my skin just got adjusted to this primer now or what but I was later pleasantly surprised. As a primer, it did the job of keeping my make up on longer (except for the first time).
All in all, pores weren't spectacularly refined, but what primer can really do that anyway? It is a great base for make-up though. I much prefer the texture and smoothness of the Benefit Porefessional Primer, but I do like this one too.
I don't think this one claims to be mattifying but I feel that both primers have helped a little regarding oil control.
I will definitely be using this up. But once I'm done I will either go back to Benefit or try a new one.

Love this product, I've tried primers before but found they made my make up slide off! This appears to minimize my pores and my tarte foundation stays on do well. I don't get as oily in my t zone. Love it. If only I could buy in Australia !!

Not Tarte's best
-05.15.13
Quick Take: lightweight
I use several Tarte products and love them- this product is not for me. I used the Tarte foundation with this and was hoping for smooth finish- within 2 hours I saw caking and my pores looked bigger than before. This is a slick type of formula and clear

Overpriced for what this does. Minimizes pores as promised but not the best primer I've used. Like the Smashbox Photo Finish much better.

Love this
-05.11.13
Quick Take: lightweight, fast-absorbing, minimizes pores
It most certainly refines pores and is worth the money. My only problem with this is that I had to use a bigger amount than I have had to with most of my primers.

I really wanted this to work as i have been on the hunt for a product that minimizes pores, i apply it at around 7am and by 12 im already super oily and have to touch up my makeup, it also doesn't do a thing to minimize my pores.

Not for me...
-05.06.13
Quick Take: lightweight
Had to return this item within just a few days because, while my forehead was more matted and probably my nose as well, I kept breaking out. This could be a good product for some but it didn't work for me.

AMAZING Product!
-05.04.13
Quick Take: silky, matte, long-wearing
I've been using this product for a couple of months now. I have used Photofinish by Smashbox and Benefit's POREfessional in the past. Smashbox's face primer is great, but it left me greasy sooooo fast and Benefit's didn't seem like it was working that well for me either. I'm glad I decided to try Tarte's because it keeps my face matte, I don't have to blot as much, and it gives my face a smooth surface before applying foundation. Definitely 12 hour wear too!

This is so far the absolute BEST primer I've tried! Keeps my foundation on and smooth looking all day! The fact that It's waterproof and doesn't break out my touchy skin is a major bonus!

My New Go-To!
-04.29.13
Quick Take: lightweight, silky
I've tried just about all of the top primers available at Sephora, some great some not so great. Hourglass Mineral Veil was my previous go-to, but the price tag had me seeking out another primer recently. I got a sample of this when I decided to give one of the Tarte foundations a try, and I loved it so much that I was back in Sephora the next day to buy it! This primer is so silky and leaves my face wonderfully smooth prior to applying my foundation. Most importantly it really does last almost all day despite my very oily t-zone. It's lasting power combined with a reasonable price tag make this my new favorite.

I just put it with my finger, let it sink in for a minute or 2, then i applied my drugstore foundation, sometimes bb cream, and voila! My skin looks almost perfect. It will give you a matte finish if you let it sink in to your skin first and gives a nice airbrush effect. I'm not sure though about refining the pores as i don't have too large pores so i cant tell that. Long wearing. Hands down my must have for spring and summer.

Not so 12-hr perfection
-04.28.13
Quick Take: lightweight, evens out skintone, fast-absorbing
I love how this primer looks on my face initially, leaving no redness, fills in the pores, and super smooth but as for the mattifying claim, it does not keep me matte all day. I have super oily skin. I'm in the office for most of the day. My face starts showing some dewiness after 3 hours. I think this primer is ok, not great. Still on the hunt for an HG.

FINALLY!!!
-04.25.13
Quick Take: lightweight
I have been searching and researching primers for some time now but to no avail. I have tried too many to count. Luckily I bought one of Tarte's "try it kits" and it had a small sample of this Clean Slate Primer. So I tried it and was blown away by the results. It took away my fine lines instantly. My pores looked smaller and my face felt tighter. After it dried completely I applied my foundation and so on. Six hours later I glanced at my face and my makeup had not budged. There I was looking like I had just applied my makeup. This product is very long lasting, fabulous, and true to its word, pore less. Try it ! You won't be disappointed!!!

I used this as a sample in one of the Tarte Kits, WOW, this primer is great. Covered all of my pores like I was 21 again. Then my foundation went on like a slippery slide. My skin looks amazing, truly, it does. I have tired all kinds of primer and this one is it.

this product is a MUST for every girl. it helps with refining pores and is great for girls with an oily t-zone. I even wear this by itself to give my skin a boost when I don't feel like wearing foundation. definitely provides a great palette before putting on your make-up.
