disappointed by typography provided
-01.21.13
Love the concept. However, the "newsprint" is simply "happy" words printed in repeat. "Happy," "peace," etc. It takes the look from elegant to slightly cheesy in my opinion.

Not worth the effort
-01.17.13
I don't have very long nails, so I wasn't expecting perfection when it came to the typed words.
I found that even with careful application, the finished effect was just a mess.
The only thing that could make this kit worth buying is if you had either a pro or a very steady-handed friend do the application for you.

I had a tiny bit of trouble transferring the design over to the nail, but once I got the hang of it I loved it! I hope in the future there will be more designs.
I got many compliments on my nails and they lasted quite a while before they started chipping - and that was with usually wear.

Such a hassle!
-08.21.12
I just heard this could be done with real newspapers and that the instructions are on Pintrest. It looks cool but it's so irritating and I messed up a few times. It also doesn't last very long.

Awesome

Quick Take: chip resistent, long wearing
I loved how this looked! It was easy to do and it stayed on for a full week without chipping at all. I got a lot of compliments on my nailes. It took me quite some time to do my nails because each nail has to be done sepearately with the newspaper print and trasnfer solution, but it was very easy and it looked great even on my first try.

I have to be the worst at doing nails...
-07.13.12
Quick Take: fast-drying, unique
I don't know any tricks. I rarely polish my nails because I am really bad at it. I always polish outside the nail and usually just wait for my nails to dry, run them under warm water, and peel off the excess from my skin.
That being said, I wanted to do ombre nails in shades of pink, lightest on my thumb to darkest on my little finger. I used four different polish brands, including Sephora. I did a base coat, two coats of all the pinks and let them dry really well (more than five minutes).
For the transfer, I threw out the cotton idea and instead, soaked a piece of the paper whole in transfer, then put the transfer on one nail at a time and held the soaked paper snuggly around the nail, not pressing on top. I only waited 10-15 seconds before taking off the transfer. I noticed if I used a cotton swab, pressed directly on the nail, or held the transfer for 30 seconds then the effect was not as successful (or paper adhered to the nail as well). So, just wet the paper, don't worry about cutting down to size, and don't press directly on the nail. Mine came out great this way!

Not as rave as the video shows
-07.03.12
I would love to say that this works as well as the video shows, but honestly it doesn't, as least for me it didn't. I had a hard time getting a nice even showing of the newsprint on my nails. Actually, I found that regular newspaper worked better than the print paper that came with the kit. The type on regular newspaper is smaller and you can get more of the print on your nails.. Hope it works better for everyone else.

Not Happy
-06.10.12
I was very excited when I ordered this set online. Unfortunately, the polish isn't the greatest quality and the typography did not transfer as it should although the polish was completely dry. Some transfers came out great! However, at times some of the remnants of the paper remained on my nail, or the entire word wouldn't transfer, and when it did it was not very vibrant or easy to read. I wish this worked better but unfortunately that wasn't the case for me.

Love this set!

Quick Take: long wearing, fast-drying, chip resistent
this process was a breeze and the final result is so pretty! I really like the ability to choose what direction and the placement of the lettering when you cut the portion for each nail from the sheets of paper. I was able to do a full set using less than a full sheet (you receive ten in the kit, some have bold type, others don't.) I'm very happy with this look!
