Bumble and bumble Color Minded UV Protective Styling Balm

What it is:A nourishing, heat-protecting hair balm for natural movement, control, and luster. What it does:This ultra-moisturizing hair cream is a versatile styling option for serious control and subtle shine. While helping to minimize fading effects, you can use it as a supreme blow-dry tool for vivacious volume and a soft, natural feel. Use a round brush for an extra lift or a flat iron for sleekness. Heat and humidity protection plus UV filters fight the effects of heat styling and sun for all hair types-colored or not. What it is formulated WITHOUT:- SulfatesWhat else you need to know:Formulated with a new, proprietary two-polymer technology that covalently binds to and cross-links over color-treated hair, this color-preserving complex works to resurface the process-damaged cuticle and seal the hair to prevent color washout and fading. The color process opens the cuticle to deposit color into the hair shaft. If the cuticle is not sealed properly, water can enter and wash away new color as soon as the first shampoo (which is when the most color washout happens).

Amazing product!
-04.03.13
I have long straight thin hair and have used countless products that claim to add volume to hair only to leave it sticky, tangled or frizzed. A friend gave me this sample she had and I used it and was very pleased with the outcome. I do not even color my hair but use this every day when I blow dry my hair. It adds a nice amount of shine PLUS volume and a small amount goes a long way. Would definitely recommend this product!!

Love the protection!
-01.28.13
I can't say enough about this balm! I put a little bit in on my ends when my hair is still wet and I've noticed very quickly how well it protects my hair when I blow dry. Usually I use couture color oil, but this has been better during the cold and dry winter to keep my hair from breaking or getting static during the day. I'm so glad to have this especially because my hair is very fine so I tend to worry about putting product in because it's very easy for my hair to get weighed down and greasy looking, but that hasn't been the case with this one!

Probably great for poolside or sports
-01.14.13
As a regular styling agent I found this a little heavy, it weighed down my hair and made it look a little greasy the next day. However, it's all about sun protection, so I'll save it for the pool/beach/outdoor activities where usually my hair is in a ponytail anyways, and it'll probably be perfect.

Wonderful Product
-12.26.12
Quick Take: lightweight
Received this as a gift and I love it !!!! I have used other products (recommended by my hair dresser) and they make my hair feel sticky. This holds my hair in place and makes it feel soft. I would highly recommend this product. I will also let my hairdresser know about this product.

Quick Take: easy to use, lightweight, non-sticky
I would give this 10 stars if I could! I am 61 y.o. and have struggled with fine, dead straight, no-body hair my entire life. The last few years it started to thin and the struggle had intensified. LOTS of bad hair days. Not anymore. The combo of this AMAZING product and Pantene Expert AgeDefy Advanced thickening treatment (drugstores) has completely changed my hair. Soft, shiny, FULL OF BODY -that lasts!! The key is not to use too much. One small squirt, rub between your hands, flip your head over and apply - I avoid getting it right on the roots. Worth every penny.

Unsure
-12.15.12
Quick Take: easy to use
My hair is color treated and can become slightly frizzy after I dry my hair. Originally, I was looking for a hair care heat protecting product that I could use daily. I only have to use a small dab and work it into my wet hair, any more and it would become greasy. I do not think that it really helped with shine, heat protection, or frizziness. I have already gone through half the bottle. I do not think I would purchase this product again.

Quick Take: non-sticky, easy to use, smoothing
I have thick, coarse, frizzy hair. I flat iron at least three times a week. I also colored my hair red. (I have a hair death-wish, I know.)
It's really hard to find a heat protecting styling product that is labeled safe for color treated hair, much less designed specifically for it. When used according to the directions, this product is fabulous. My hair absorbed most of it, any "greasy" leftover was burned off by the flat iron. (This is what most heat protecting products DO! No residue is a bad thing!) This makes me want to try the shampoo and conditioner.
I would not recommend this for anyone with fine hair. (Why are you using a cream anyway! Creams are too thick a formula for you!! B and B makes a serum in this! Hello!!!)

Awesome for Color-Treated Hair
-11.05.12
This stuff is the best! I have to have my hair colored every 6 weeks (thanks to grays). My natural hair color is auburn. Reds usually fade pretty fast, but since I started using BB Color Minded UV Styling Balm, even my hair stylist noticed a difference! Highly recommend!

Heavy and greasy

Quick Take: sticky, heavy, greasy
This weighed down my fine hair and made it feel dirty, even when I kept trying with smaller and smaller amounts. No thanks.

Didn't see a difference
-10.19.12
I got a good size sample of this product and applied it to damp hair as directed. I did not see a difference in the ease of styling or my hair at all. I actually though that it weight down my hair a bit and I have fine, color treated, long hair. Blah...

Love it
-09.29.12
Quick Take: easy to use, lightweight, non-sticky, smells really good, baby soft
Love it, leaves hair shiny and baby soft. I was told that less is more with this product and it is very true. You only need to use a small about, about a dime for long hair.

i returned this.. i was looking for some hair protection more than the styling end of it. i didnt notice any particular difference in the manageablility of my hair, although my hair is not particularly difficult. I just found it hard to disperse it evenly to feel like my hair was getting the heat protection i wanted.

Might Be Using It Wrong?
-08.09.12
Not a huge fan of this. I was told it was the best option for my coarse curly hair that I frequently straighten, but it didn't work very well with my iron or my hair and made it kind of stiff and greasy. I might be using too much product but it doesn't seem to spread over my hair evenly unless I use a lot.

Quick Take: easy to use, a great styling balm
I just started using B&B products and so far, I really like them. I was a loyal (3 year) Wen customer until I noticed breakage in my hair. I went to Sephora and asked them what they thought would be a good choice and we agreed on B&B. I really like this styling balm and a little really goes a long way. I'm going to try it for a month and if I like it then as much as I do now, I'll be a loyal B&B customer!

Shine enhancing
-08.03.12
Quick Take: a little goes a long way, shine enhancing, frizz fighing
Makes my hair shine and reduces the frizz. A little goes a long way so start with a tiny amount. I like to use it before I blowdry my hair..then I use a flatiron to seal in the shine.

Quick Take: lightweight, easy to use
I bought this product because my hair dye always turns brassy with time, and i needed something to make my brittle ends feel softer. This product definitely made my hair very light and uber soft feeling. It didn't however do anything for the slight frizz i got after blowdrying with a big round brush, and didn't really do anything for shine. I had to buy another product to give my hair the healthy shine that i was looking for. But otherwise, this product definitely made my hair softer and once curled, the frizz wasn't really a problem. The UV protection is a plus!

Meh
-06.02.12
Did not do anything of note for my shoulder length wavy hair. I did not use it long enough to see if it had any anti-fading aspects because it tended to make my hair frizz. I'll stick to the B+B Curl Conscious Defining Cream.

Just plain great!!
-05.27.12
Quick Take: amazing
This is probably one of my favorite styling products from Bumble and Bumble (and I have quite a few). It's a great foundational styling product, and even more amazing for summer. This styling balm is light weight but gives you enough structure to get that beachy look or to get your desired look thru blow drying or with a flat iron. Just plain great all around!

Great for reds
-05.25.12
I have blonde hair with fashion red highlights and this shampoo really has kept my red highlights from fading quickly. I love that it great for the color but don't like the way it smells all that much but will keep using it. I give it a thumbs up!
