After having (and loving) a ghd professional 1" styler for 3 years, I dropped it on hardwood and broke it. I replaced it with this one, which seems to be exactly the same quality but with the bonus of the heat resistant pouch. I've owned many different brands of flat irons over the years for my thick and curly hair, such as paul brown, chi, and paul mitchell, and this tops them all. My hair never catches or drags and it leaves my hair feeling smooth in the least amount of passes.

Quick Take: good for all hair types, cute, fast and efficient
I have tried pretty much every brand of flat iron that is out there from cheap to expensive and this one is well worth the money! I have very fine, wavy, frizzy hair and I live in the south, where the humidity varies. I've never been able to make just one pass through my hair and it be straight. I cannot do that with this flat iron either unfortunately but it takes less passes than the others, and my hair isn't volumeless when I'm done. I would buy this iron again in a heart beat!!

Quick Take: perfect!, worth the money
This straightener is everything I have been looking for. I have really thick, frizzy, curly hair, and when I let it air dry without product or blow dry it, I could certainly have an afro. That is not a style I wish to rock, so for that reason alone I have always left my hair curly. It would take me well over two hours to straighten my hair with a cheap straightener you buy at your local drugstore. I decided to shell out the money for this after reading reviews & seeing before and after pictures, and I have never been happier. I can straighten my dry hair in about 20 minutes. It is perfect. I will never buy another brand!

This is the best flat iron i've ever used, it takes me less than 10 minutes to get a straight shiny hair and it looks like i got my hair done at the salon. I love it it's worth every penny.

Quick Take: multi-purpose, time saving, heats quickly
I have very thick, coarse hair that normally takes forever to straighten. But this flat iron definitely cuts that time in half. I picked it up after my hairdresser used it on my hair and couldn't stop talking about how much she loved it. Even among all the high end brands, I haven't found another that is as smooth. The plates just glide through my hair effortlessly. It is light, but still feels well-made, not cheap or plasticy. I can't believe how fast it heats up. They aren't kidding about the 30 seconds. And, it even beeps when ready, so I'm not left waiting for some blinking light or trying to remember if the blink means it's ready or still heating. The body also stays very cool. Love the auto shutoff feature. Best of all, my hair is left soft, smooth and shiny. I've been using flat irons for years, and this is definitely the best I've found!

What a fantastic straightener! I should have purchased a GHD years ago! Not only does it look great in its beautiful carry bag, it makes my frizzy hair so straight, I'm in love with it. It's worth the price and should last you for a long time.

Quick Take: heats quickly, damaging to hair
I went to Sephora not looking for a new flat iron (though I was in the market for one) and I spotted this little beauty. After remembering all the wonderful reviews I had read on GHD irons, especially this one, I figured why not and wanted to give it a try.
I got home, got my hair ready for straightening and turned on the iron. I was super impressed with how fast it heated up! Unfortunately though, once I started straightening I was less impressed. I have curly hair that normally straightens pretty well and is soft to the touch. This iron left my ends feeling dead and straw-like. After doing my bangs and a semi-big section of the bottom of my hair I immediately stopped. I wasn't about to damage my hair anymore than I had.
I'm pretty sure it's because this doesn't have any temperature control and with my hair being so temperamental, I really need that control!
I'm really sad because I wanted to love this iron so bad but it really just didn't play nice with my hair. Luckily I was able to exchange it for a less expensive (but better!!!!!) iron the next day!

I searched high and low before I got this one!
I was very hesitant because there is no variable heat, but in the end it really wasn't necessary. I have used amika primarily in the past and also have used chi and t3, but this is by far better than any I've ever used before. I thought it was a bit pricy, but it truly was worth the extra (and I waited until an online sale day to buy it).
it's quick, heats up in seconds, and you don't have to go over sections of hair again and again. I have fairly curly, frizzy hair, and it works great for me. it even seems to last longer than with other irons, but I've also been using the dry shampoo more often these days which helps.
overall, I'm really happy with this find and think it's worth the extra cost.

I have fine hair and this straightener doesn't burn or fry it like some of the other cheaper ones have. In fact, it makes it seem sleeker and shinier. It works perfectly and the cute purple color is an added bonus.

Quick Take: time saving, heats quickly
The only thing I am disappointed about with this straightener is that the Sephora Website didn't allow me to purchase it for a very long time (kept getting a page missing error) so I went to the store and paid $270 for it.
This is a great product, heats in seconds, straightens my hair perfectly and keeps it straight until I wash it and even after that it's still straighter than it naturally is. The little bag is also a heat mat and is very cute. I am happy with my purchase and would be even happier if I could have purchased it online and paid less.
