OPI Nail Polish: WORTH IT!!

I recieved this set for Christmas and put it on that day, i play high school basketball and have had games for 5 straight days. Today is December 30th and NOT ONE CHIP on my nails!! 5 DAYS, NO chips and STILL SHINY!! Absolutely love this set, long lasting and stands up to its Neon Name

I usually love these nail mini sets and always buy them, but this one is absolutely terrible! Like the other reviews stated, the colors are too matte, and the white base coat is impossible to pull off. It looks uneven and just a mess. Better save your money.

I got these in the mail, and the colors were as pictured and very pretty.In fact, the one star I gave this product is because of the vibrant colors. However, when I applied the colors to my nails, it was awful. It appeared to go on fine, but looked worse by the minute as they dried. They looked thick and powdery. I removed it all and tried again a few days later, and also put them on my daughter's nails....same results. With the names Sephora AND OPI, I was expecting a much better product.

Quick Take: nail polish
well the colors are nice but when i applied the base coat it was horrible. it had a very uneven texture. the bottles were so small that this kit wouldn't have lasted long. you would have to apply a lot of coats so i returned it and got a gift card instead and bought other stuff.

I really wanted to like these because I love the colors but the white is impossible to pull off. I ended up using a different white but still the yellow didn't come out right and the orange, while it looked nice, didn't last long.

Even though the colors are nice the texture of this nail polish is terrible. It is very matte even with the topcoat a and unless you use a ton of the white base coat it ends up looking bumpy and looks terrible. I have always loved OPI products but this one is a huge miss!

Quick Take: difficult to apply, streaky
I really wanted to like this...so much so that I tried it FOUR different times. I followed the instructions the 1st time,which indicated that I use 2 coats of the white polish/base coat, followed by 2 coats of color & then the top coat. The white polish came out streaky,which could still be seen after color was added. Then, I tried it w/2 coats of my regular base coat, then 2 white, then 2 color (and I tried a different color EACH time, thinking maybe it was that particular color). Same story. Then, I had my friend do it, thinking maybe it was me. Nope. Same story. Also, my manicurist commented when she removed my polish how difficult the polish was to remove & how it discolored my nails. Needless to say, this went back. Suprised, because OPI is usually great, overall.

Like all the other reviews, I have to say the base coat is awful. It does not go on smoothly at all and if it's not smooth, it shows through when you put the color on top. The first time I tried this set, it was a mess.
Because I hate to return things and the other polishes seemed okay, I decided I was just going to buy a different white, but I did manage to get the one in the package to work better on a second try, so for those of you who want to try again, this method got me better results.
I buffed my nails first because the white doesn't handle any kind of ridges well. Then I used my regular cheap clear base first to try to give the white a smoother surface.
Because it's impossible to do normal thin smooth layers with this white, I did the opposite and just didn't wipe the brush off at all and basically glooped a think coat on and spread it around. It was kind of a mess, but it worked to give me a much more even base. I did have to wait forever for it to dry though.
When I did the orange over it, I also used more polish than usual on the brush. Not as much as the white, but it went on smoother with more polish. I did two coats of the orange and again waited a while for drying. The polish has a really odd look still. Kind of like I just used a highlighter.
But that went away when I put my normal clear top coat over it. (I don't see the point of using the one in the kit when I have another.)
I don't think there's a way to make it look nice without having a mess to clean up later around my nails, but I can do that tomorrow in the shower. Probably will not do this often though. It took 2.5 hours because of all that drying time.

Quick Take: a little expensive but worth it.
Before I bought this polish I thought it was kind of expensive but after using some of the colors I knew they were OPI quality. I especially thought the white base coat was an excellent idea. The colors were bright and lasted for about a week. They were worth the price for bright summer polish.

Quick Take: streak-y, drying, bright
I was so excited for this kit and I ended up disappointed. I love the idea of it and I'm obsessed with the colors in bottle, but the colors are too translucent without the white bottom coat, and the white polish in kit goes on weird. It's drying, almost like you're using white-out on your nails, and it streaks so easily which shows through the colored polishes. It leads to a not very appealing end product/look. Will be taking back the kit. If you have a reliably solid white polish though to use in place of the one provided, the kit might be worth it if you're interested in neon colors. 2 stars for the colors themselves, and great packaging.

Quick Take: bright
I bought this kit specifically for tryin to recreate the graffiti nail look but the colors were not bright enough to wear over black. Otherwise wearing them alone I like them. They only take a day or two to chip though
