Impulse Paid Off!

Quick Take: portable
I bought the Swing palette about a month ago at my local store on a whim. I expected it to be just "okay," as I am typically a Kat Von D kind of girl. I was pleasantly surprised when I got home, took off my eye make-up, and started playing. The colors pack just the right amount of oophf while still looking rather natural. It's become my go-to palette. I have huge brown eyes (seriously, I look like an Anime character) and very fair skin, and am very skilled with my trusty eye shadow brushes. I work in a chiropractic practice and wear scrubs every day, but this palette really emphasizes my eyes in the perfect way, whether I'm at work or all jazzed up to go out with the girls. I look forward to trying other Buxom products in the future!

Quick Take: good value
Been looking for a nice pink color and this palette has 2. I love the shades of grey and the black too - I have green eyes and for some reason the grey really brings out the green even more - long lasting too

The colors are so light, even on fair/medium skin tone, you can barely see them, and they are gone by the end of the work day! Very disappointed!

Quick Take: portable, long lasting, pigmented
I bought this in "Swing" and have been really enjoying it. Normally for everyday use, I use the Too Faced Natural Eye Neutral Eyeshadow Collection, which I still really like, but this one is rather nice as well. I would actually probably give it 4.5 stars instead of just four, but can't actually add in that extra half star.
Some of the colors may end up being too shimmery for some. I'm not into a huge amount of shimmer in my eyeshadow, thought I don't mind some, but I found the shimmer in these to be relatively subtle. The color lasts well throughout the day, and looks quite nice. (I do use an eyeshadow primer as well, just to qualify.) My only complaint is that these eyeshadows are a bit harder to put on without a bit of residue around the eyes than any of the Too Faced ones I've used (and I'm addicted to their palettes). Most of that tends to wipe up pretty easily with with a tissue without ruining the rest of my makeup, but I do have to be more careful applying these than I do with my Too Faced ones if I don't want the extra residue. I'm not sure if they're just somehow looser/more powdery once on my makeup brushes, or what. Not a huge deal, but a bit of an issue if I'm in a rush. I could also wish that the shadows were a bit bigger, but again, that's not a huge thing.
Ultimately, a nice little palette, and it's easy to take with you as well. I'd recommend it even with my minor issue.

Liked it, very shimmery

Quick Take: portable, good value
I was prepared not to like this pallete, I saw another in a different brand and was going to exchange this one, but I really ended up liking the colors. I love shimmer, and the base color was perfect on me, the "eyeliner" color actually works well in the crease over the crease color for a more intense look. I took a star away for the ballet weird pink color, a coral color or lighter shimmer pink would have been better than the pastel powder pepto pink.

A MUST HAVE

Quick Take: amazing, worth the money and more
I am very pale w bright red hair, and this works wonderfully with my hair color and skin tone. I have had others in shades of purple that make me look like someone blacked my eyes. This however does not, I have gotten several compliments on my eye make up as of late w people wanting to know where I got it.

Swing - a Fantastic color palette

I bought this palette after purchasing the holiday palette from 2011. I like four out of the five colors. I have brown eyes and the compact is perfect to bring with my on my business trips without hauling my entire cosmetic bag.
It would be great, if you could switch out a color if you don't like it?

Tango is amazing!

I went to Sephora to purchase one of the other palettes but ended up with Tango and I am so glad I did. The colors are amazing and I love the texture. This is my new go-to eye shadow kit. Neutral, but not boring.

Great first Buxom purchase

I believe this is the first Buxom product I ever purchase. I received the 500 point BI Buxom set when it was available (it came with a lipgloss, passport book, and mascara --- which I didn't like). Anyway, all of these palettes were on display and Tango just caught my eye. I was able to swatch them in store, but fell even more in love with the colors when I got home.They're very pigmented, but of course, you get the best colors when you add a primer under them. I like that I can go from day to night or neutral to colored with this palette. It's the only palette I needed on my out-of-state trip. I recently purchased Hip Hop, which I haven't used. The colors are nice in that palette as well. I was very impressed with their eyeshadows. I'm hoping to pick up one more palette for my birthday!

Another Winner

HIp-Hop is the fourth palette I have purchased of the color choreography line by Buxom. At first, I did not like this palette very much as I was having a hard time with the lightest blue color. It was applying very sheer even with a primer. Today I tried the palette again using better brushes and what a difference. The colors applied beautifully. The look lated more than 8 hours with no primer with very little fading and absolutely no creasing. This is a good color combination for brown or hazel eyes.

I purchase online and that is always a gamble... next time I'll wait til I get near a Sephora again...
It is an ok eyeshadow, but way too much 'shine' for me and my age. My problem, probably. YMMV.

I bought the palette after a lot of deliberation, and I'm happy I did. I like it so much, I can't stop using it and completely ignore all my other palettes.
The colors are all really pretty and vibrant and there are so many options for "choreographing" them that I don't think I'll ever get tired of this palette. I might even buy more palettes like this in different shades. It was a great buy.

I have never used Boxum products before and I am very satisfied with this eye shadow pallet. The colors are great although I would recommend an eye shadow primer so the color is more intense.
