Great shade, shaky coverage

It's difficult for me to find foundation in my fair shade, especially without having a major yellow undertone, which looks sickly over my own pink undertones. I purchased this in the Ivory shade, and it works quite nicely for me. I do end up spreading highlights of blush all over it, but it works better than most any other for me. Two light coats gives me a very even complexion without looking too heavy.
My only complaint is that it doesn't hold up well with any amount of sweat. With summer in the south quickly approaching, this is kind of a bad thing for me. But I'm sure with the right combo of primer and setting powder will get me there.

love this foundation!

Quick Take: buildable coverage, long wearing, oil-free, natural looking
I have VERY oily and blemish-prone skin, and find most foundations 'slide' off my skin over the course of the day. This one doesn't and lasts all day. I've even worn it to bed and it still looks perfect in the morning. I use it over my primer (hourglass mineral veil) and set it with powder (korres mineral setting powder). It has a very natural, dewy finish which I like a lot! I took off 1 star because it is not a full coverage foundation, at most it can provide halfway between medium and full coverage. I've read some of the reviews that say the foundation separates, which is true so I just shake it up for a few seconds before using, problem solved! I also wish it came in more shades. I'm somewhere between the medium golden and the tan. Since it's winter right now, my skin tone is lighter so I'm just using medium golden but may have to blend in some tan once the sun comes out. Overall, I think it's a great foundation! One of the best I've tried and I will be getting another bottle once mine runs out.

I have tried many different foundations, bb creams at all different price points, and this is the first one that I truly like. I have combination skin (very oily in some spots) and this formula truly blends in without being too chalky or shiney. Awesome!

Ew. I got a sample of this and was deeply disappointed. I could see the oily product separate from the foundation color. Very disappointing and cake-y when applied to the face. Avoid!

This is a great full coverage makeup. Really nice for dry uneven skin. The description says it's light-weight, I think it's more than that, but nothing a blending brush can't handle. I used to use Shiseido, but since Sephora stopped carrying it, this is a nice replacement and cheaper, too!

I have used Lancome foundations for years, but when I tried the sample of Velvet Mineral I wanted more. Not only does it go on smoothly with nice buildable coverage, the medium beige shade also provides a bit of pinkish undertone I have wanted for my pale skin. Overall, I love the way my skin feels and looks, even after a long day.

Very heavy overall and seemed to irritate my skin. This stuff didn't blend well and made my face look cakey no matter how light I put it on. I would definitely not buy this again.

It is light & smooth but there's not much coverage & by the end of the work day it's gone. If I have to go out after work I need to reapply which I really don't like. I think foundation should last from morniing to evening, especially when it is expensive. I have $8 ones that last longer

Coverage you won't believe!

This foundation is amazing! Great coverage without being heavy....sort-of. It comes out of the tube rather thick - so go easy on the amount used. But once it's applied - you'll be amazed how light the coverage looks.
I originally tried this through a sample I received with another Sephora order and was immediately impressed on the quality of the foundation. I recommend you give it a try. You don't have anything to lose except wrinkles and pores.

For those who like a natural light make up

I have nice skin with just some discoloration. I have a perfected skin moisturizing and skin care routine so I havent had any acne for year and my frineds ask how I keep imy skin glowing and dewy. So i dont like a heavy make up look, especially in full day light. I tried the sampe and was really impressed. I have always tried and abandoned most liquid make ups and have used Physicians Formula powders. And this is perfect. It covers the discoloration and keeps it dewy and fresh and it lasts so long. I cover it with a light brushing of Physicians Formula. I have light skin and can usually use either a golden or a natural beige but prefer golden. The medium beige sample looked really nice but Im going to try the Medium Golden. Likely the other poor reviews are from people who prefer a fuller coverage or have oily skin. So if you are more like me you will like this a lot.

Really didn't work for me

Although the "fair" color matched my skin perfectly, it offered almost no coverage while at the same time looking cakey (how is that even possible?) It absolutely settled into my pores and felt sticky and oily even long after it had been applied. It didn't even come close to covering my blemishes. I get better coverage and a more natural look and feel from my $10 drugstore bb cream. It is going back to the store.

I wouldn't recommend this for overly oily-skinned people or those who like a matte look. It has a somewhat sticky feeling to it an no matter how much I blotted or set it with powder it still had a sheen. But I prefer a TINY bit of shine, looks natural and healthy IMO. It's pretty thick, blends like butter. I wouldn't layer this - if you want heavier coverage just put on one thicker layer. It's NOT full coverage but provides a nice base for powder/concealer on top. I like it so far, no break outs and my skin is very sensitive. I think it's definitely worth a trip to Sephora - ask for a sample first before you buy because it's not one that will work for everyone.
