Quick Take: acne clearing gel
I have tried a number of different products including prescriptions and dermatologist suggested brands to deal with my adult acne. I did not have it as a teenager which was a blessing but I have fought it since I was 26, now I am 34 and I just discovered this product. A number of people complained about the new formula but it is all new to me and it works. I also cleanse with Peter Thomas Roth and use the scrub 3 times a week. I am very satisfied with this purchase. So much so that I originally purchased the 30 day trail but recently returned to purchase each product individually.

Quick Take: terrific!
I am so thrilled that the salesperson recommended this product for my hormonal-nodular acne. It has completely diminished the frequency and severity of the acne I would get on my chin. After trying everything and even considering prescription Accutane, I am so glad I found this and it delivers. Plus, I do not seem to have to worry about it drying my skin with use.

I really wanted to like this after reading all the great reviews... unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be doing much for me. I don't have acne, just some breakouts every now and then on my tzone and I've been using this on there for a month and a half now.. No difference is my skin whatsoever. Probably going to return this or not buy again. On the bright side..its not over drying?

Quick Take: perfect, amazing
Peter thomas roth products are AMAZE! The only thing that has completely stopped my breakouts. And i have combo skin, and acne scars. The scars are fading also because i use this and the am fusion, wow!! I am half black so lightening scars has been a lifelong battle for me, nothing worked. Thank you PTR!!

Quick Take: no longer effective
The former product was fantastic and is probably the product most of the positive reviews are for. I've used everything to control my adult acne and this was the only product to keep it under control. While it didn't eliminate it, there was a huge difference between using it vs. not using it. I purchased the new formula because I was out and immediately started breaking out like I do with most products that simply don't control my acne. This once fantastic product is now a me to product.

To begin with, I have a sensitive, dry and acne-prone skin (I know, it's complex, right?) with noticeable spots of hyperpigmentation. So I was all hyped up to use this PTR gel after reading tons of good, 5-star reviews. Foolish of me; I anticipated some miraculous results out of this product.
To my disappointment, it didn't show me any significant improvement in my skin. Maybe it calmed down new pimples that were just about to grow; nothing more. And simply stunting the growth of new breakouts isn't what I expected from a $50+ product. I know some other products that do the same but cost a whole less.
It was also very drying for my skin. The skin around my lips would get really dry, and I dreaded yawning after using this. I was initially going to use it as my final step of my nighttime regime (for some reason, I think another layer on top of a gel would diminish the clearing effect), but I couldn't help but use a moisturizer because it was so drying.
Consequently, a few days ago, I returned this product. I used it every night for about a month. I waited enough, right?
I really wanted to love this PTR acne clearing gel, but it simply did not work. I truly envy those reviewers who said it worked magically on their skins. I wish it did on mine, too.

It improves the overall look of my skin and helps the acne heal faster, even though it doesn't seem to reduce the number, frequency, or severity of my acne. I got a better result with the Dr. Dennis Gross daily peels, but I might be better off just going to see a dermatologist.

Quick Take: fast absorbing
Used half the bottle, didn't see a difference in my skin so i returned it. Maybe I don't have bad enough acne to notice anything. I don't know. Didn't do anything for my skin. Went with the Glycolic 10% hydrating gel instead. Works great! Noticed a difference within a week of use.

I'm still breaking out and have been using this every night since dec. I don't really see any improvements to my skin. Once I run out I will not be purchasing again. On a side note, the fact that I've been using this since dec and still have a decent amount of product left in march, it's a great value. Too bad it just didn't work for me.

Quick Take: very light
Ive been using this product for an month now, although I do feel it has improved the overall condition of my skin, my pores are smaller, my skin feels soft and smooth and I dont have to use a moisturizer on top, I do still get some flair ups. I do like this product but if I could find something better I would not purchase again because it is rather pricey

I used this consistently for about 3 months and I still had a lot of embarassing breakout periods. It helped the first month or so but after that it was pointless. Thank God for Sephora's awesome return policy. Took this back and so far my skin actually seems to be doing better without it!
