Quick Take: hydrating, exfoliating, brightening, clearing
This is, by far, the best skin care product I've ever used, and I have tried many. This is the only product I've tried that actually cleared up my bumpy skin from subsurface zits, helped with acne scars, and smoothed and softened the texture of my skin. And it worked VERY quickly, with noticeable results the day after I first used this. My skin is usually incredibly dry, and this product didn't dry it out at all. I did not even need a moisturizer afterward! This product is superior any from Clinique, Murad, Ole Henriksen, Philosophy, and countless other brands I've tried. I'm so happy to finally have smooth, clear skin! I will start trying more PTR products in the future since I've had such success with this.

May have worked if it didn't break me out

I started using this product after it was recommended to me by a rep in the store. Honestly, it did seem to be working as my face started to feel soft and nice. However after a couple of weeks or so I started to break out quite bad, and this was the only new product I had started to use. So I would have to say this was the cause. It was a shame as I liked how it started to make my face feel however it is suppose to help reduce dark spots as well, and the only thing I got was more due to the breakouts.

I have been using this product for awhle now and it's really working well on my skin. The shiny spots on my forehead and nose and greatly diminished throughout the day and I really believe it's keeping the wrinkles at bay. I'm 42 but I don't have any wrinkles, except for a few around my eyes (and area in which I don't use this product). I'm still on the hunt for a great eye cream, but for the rest of my face, this gel is amazing. Well worth the $$ and I'll be buying it again when my bottle finishes. Oh and a little goes a long way in coverage, so the bottle really last a long time.

Within the first week of use I noticed a difference! Made my pores appear smaller, & also helped with acne breakouts. I love this product! Will definitely be repurchasing!

I was skeptical with buying such a high priced item but I was having the worst time with clogged pores. I use this every night before bed and I've noticed clearer and smoother skin. My only complaint is the bottle is glass and I totally cracked it already. Keep the plastic wrap on in case this happens to you. I didn't drop it so not sure how it happened! I read other reviews with the same issue

Quick Take: a nice light gel that does a little of everything, helps my acne
After over 10 years and trying out numerous products, I come back to this gel every time. My skin has gone through my late 20s into my 30s and now my 40s; acne, thyroid cancer (which brought about massive hormonal/skin changes), melanoma from tanning, and now pregnancy. It seems like this gel just adjusts perfectly to whatever crazy changes my skin has. Give it a try.

I use this nightly after cleansing my face. It is not irritating at all. I was having trouble with flaky skin on each side of my nose and this takes care of that problem. Buy it!

I am in my late 20's and am still fighting for clear skin. I can't even remember the last time that my skin was blemish less. Did you just read that? Yes! My face has literally no breakouts and it has already started to fade my acne scars and dark spots too! I definitely recommend this as an acne treatment. Kate Somerville's line was too harsh for me and murad never fully worked. So glad I found this!!! I use this at night and the acne treatment gel during the day from PTR line

I am 33 years old and have struggled with adult acne since about 21 years old. Never had it as a teenager. I have used almost EVERY product out there from prescriptions, to proactive to neutrogena and nothing has worked. From the moment I was introduced to the Peter Thomas Roth acne line, my life has changed. Two thumbs up, without question!

This stuff is fantastic. I have quite oily skin, but using this at night leaves me moisturized but not greasy in the morning. It has evened out my skin tone AMAZINGLY well. I went, literally overnight, from wearing a full face of foundation every day to wearing a bit around my mouth and nose. Before my skin had a lot of patchy redness, but it's completely gone. 2 ounces for $50 makes it very affordable for a night treatment.

This product has completely changed my skin. I am very, very pale with some lingering post-acne hyperpigmentation. I started using this product every other night before bed and then slowly worked my way up to nightly. One pump is more than enough to cover my face and neck. It has significantly faded my discoloration, improved my skin's overall texture and clarity, and made me soft as a baby's butt. It has also decreased the frequency and size of my breakouts. It is effective without making me red or overly sensitive, and it's not drying (I always apply it after cleansing with my Clarisonic, let it sink in for 10 minutes, then apply a lightweight moisturizer afterward). I would not be caught dead without this product! I've been using for a year and have not hit the bottom of the bottle, so it's also a great value.

I have been using this as part of my skin care routine for about 10 years, starting in my early 30s. It rocks, and I contribute part of the reason people tell me I look way younger than I am to this stuff, no joke. (The other part is sunscreen!) It's lightweight, it absorbs quickly, and doesn't irritate my skin (though I do not have sensitive skin). I use this twice a day, AM and PM, and go through one bottle probably every 8 months. My one recommendation is to keep the plastic wrapper on the bottle part of this product - I have dropped the bottle before and it broke,my friend uses this product and suggested leaving the plastic on, as she dropped hers and it did not break.

I wish I had known about this product before my wedding!!! I love this gel. Since I've been using it, my face has been more glowing, even, and smooth. My skin is sensitive and on the dry side and I have rosacea. I rarely write reviews or endorse anything, but I think this really works.
It's not hydrating enough for me, though, so I usually give it a few minutes and follow up with a moisturizer. I only use it at night.
I used to have a ridiculously long morning and night routine with like 8 steps each, but this shortened it. I just need to tone and moisturize after cleansing and that's it.

Quick Take: fabulous
I am 62 years old with a long history of smoking and tanning without sunblock. I have been unable to wear makeup without it looking caked into my lines and wrinkles for a long time. After only 1 week of using the Peter Thomas Roth hydrating gel, my skin is smoother, and I can wear tinted moisturizer and conceal blemishes again.

I was so excited about this product because of the great reviews and the recommendation of the store assistant but it certainly did not live up to my expectations. The gel that was supposed to hydrate my skin made my skin peel off instead. Why anyone would put glycolic acid in a hydrating gel is beyond me. The product did, however, even out my skin tone so that was a positive. Although I returned the product, had I continued to use it for a more even skin tone, I would have needed to do so in conjunction with a hydrating booster to combat the peeling. This seems like too much of a hassle for someone with combination skin, though. Final Say: Good for skin tone, bad for hydration...I think that someone with oily skin might have more success with this product.

I have oily skin and have been prone to breakouts and cyst-like pimples since I was a teenager. I'm now in my late-20s and in need of a product that heals my acne without over drying my skin. This is that product! Since I started using it a year ago, I haven't had breakout...no joke. And my skin glows. It's a miracle worker!

This gel is definitely not hydrating. I have combo skin so some areas need hydration but this was fine for my T-zone which requires no hydration at all.
This gel is too middle of the road for me. Not strong enough to notice any improvements in my complexion and not moisturizing enough to use as a night lotion.
Luckily, I didn't break out from this gel. So it gets a star from that.
And another star for introducing me to the Un-Wrinkle Peel Pads from the same line. Now that's something I recommend! After using the pads for a week, I did notice an improvement in my complexion-albeit a small one

I am loving this stuff! I use it at night only - sometimes it seems like the hydrating effects are at war with the exfoliating effects so once a day is my limit. Anyway, it has definitely lightened and in some case totally erased the dark marks from my acne scars. The feathery lines and wrinkles around my eyes have diminished and the overall texture of my skin has improved. Also, I haven't had any cystic acne since using this (about 6 months). This may be one of the few products that has actually made a visible difference. It hasn't completely rid my face of acne issues, but not having cystic acne anymore was enough to give it 5 stars...the rest was just the icing on the cake and the cherry on top! Although the price is scary, you only need one small pump to cover your face so I anticipate spending the money on this once or twice a year at most. LOVE!

I bought this after going through the reviews regarding hormonal acne. I get hormonal acne and this seemed to be a promising product based on the reviews. I made sure to use it for about 6 months before writing this review to really give it a fair chance to work through my skin. I like the feel of the gel when put on but it makes my skin shiny so I only apply this for use overnight. Overall I did notice that the fine lines and wrinkling i got from sun damage with life-guarding has diminished a small amount. I also felt it did help keep some of my blemishes at bay, and this really is a nice hydrating product. However with continued use I have to say it is no miracle product for me. I truly believe everyone's skin chemistry is different so it may work differently for you, but overall it seems like the longer i use this, the less it works. I will be trying something else, because i think the effect it has on my skin is not worth the price.
