Fabulous Bronzing Mousse
-06.16.13
Quick Take: gradual, long lasting
I love the St. Tropez tanning mousses, in both the original and dark formulas. I would DEFINITELY recommend wearing either latex gloves or the St. Tropez tanning mit because it will turn your hands dark. The colored mousse makes it incredibly easy to apply and to see where you are applying it. I like to apply it at night and wear a baggy shirt and looser underwear to bed so as not to create lines. I have white sheets and it does not stain in the slightest - you'll just need to wash your sheets. The color is buildable and natural, never once have I felt like I looked orange.

Reformulation perfect!!! No greenish tint!
-06.06.13
I was hesitant to try the dark formula after using the original mousse for years due to the negative reviews of the green color. I love this product because I can just put it on and go, not having to worry about showering it off right away. I was not going to keep this dark formula if that wasn't the case. I just bought it a day ago after reading that St. Tropez reformulated the dark mousse, well they must have because I used it and it is a beautiful dark brown with not even a hint of a green cast. I love this more than the original. I will be switching over to this for the summer. I also think the smell is less apparent vs. the original, although it does dry quicker so you need to rub it in extremely quick with the mitt.

Realistic color & no greasy feeling

Quick Take: nice tan color
Don't have to wait for a long time for it to dry off. True tan color after a quick shower. Wish it stayed on a little longer

Good

I don't really see much difference between this & the original. That being said..St. Tropez is a great product. I just don't think the "dark" one is worth the extra money.

Best fake tan out there!
-05.22.13
Quick Take: long lasting
Okay this stuff takes a bit of time to dry, but, I apply in the evening with latex gloves and then shower in the morning. Then I go to work with a beautiful bronze colour!
Can't beat that! Love this stuff!

Coming from a St Tropez-aholic
-05.18.13
I am a diehard St. Tropez fan. I have an extremely fair complexion and love having a bronzed look.
Pale girls, have no fear, you will come out beautifully bronzed!
I have probably used every form of St Tropez they make, and this is by far my favorite! Though the color of the "dark" isn't all that more drastic than their original mousse, I find it much easier to use! The darker tint of this formula actually helps my tan come out more even on hard areas such as hands and feet.
I don't ever feel the need to use the buffing mitt with any of their products. To me it's just a waste of time. Just slap on a pair of gloves and you are good to go!
For those that are complaining about the greenish color, you've clearly never used their original lotion. Which in my opinion, is FAR worse then this is. I look 100% like a mud wrestler when I use that.

A sticky green mess...but a deep even tan.
-05.18.13
Quick Take: natural looking, deep color
I was so excited to try this product because of all the hype. I purchased from Sephora and will be returning after one test use on my legs only. I usually enjoy self-tanners with green based color guides because they look more olive than orange, but this LITERALLY made me green. My boyfriend asked me what was wrong with my legs and feet, upon which I had to confess to self tanner!
I also chose a mousse over a lotion so that it would soak in quickly. I feel like the tanner dried quickly so I had to move quickly during application, but then the thick green color corrector just sat on top of my skin for HOURS. I was scared to sit down anywhere for fear of dying my chairs green.
I had hoped all this mess would be worth it, and don't get me wrong - the tan afterwards was deep and even, very lovely. However OVERALL, it was not worth the work of dealing with an extremely messy product, as I can find a great deep and even tan from tons of other self tanning products these days. NOT worth the MESS for me.
If you do like this product, I recommend their mitt for application - that did seem to really help me apply more quickly and evenly.

Bronze goddess!
-05.18.13
Quick Take: long lasting, natural looking
This is by far the best of the bronzers! It goes on smoothly however green. But when I wash the residue off in the morning I look like a bronze goddess! No one ever would guess that I'm wearing sunless tanner!

-05.12.13
This product is so amazing I am compelled to write my very first review after years of shopping Sephora.com
This tanning mousse is by far the best - and I have been searching for years for a product just like this ! If you want an even self tan - look no further ! It's the best ! Only suggestion would be to apply with a tanning mitt.

Better Now that Reformulated
-05.11.13
Hi was so excited to try this last year, but was so disappointed when I did!!! I am fair skinned and when I tried this in November 2012 I literally looked like Kermit the Frog. That is no exaggeration. On the plus side it looked amazig once the color guide washed off the following day, but I couldn't bare to have anyone see me that green. I was recently told that it has been fixed...and they are right. The color has a nice olive undertone, and make it look very natural. I will continue to use this all summer.

BEST SELF TAN PRODUCT
-05.08.13
Quick Take: gradual, long lasting, bronze, perfect tan, dark
This product is perfect if you want a bronze tan, you need to use a mitt if you don't want streaks and brown hands. There's not a strong odor . The color will last for about four days and then you should reapply.

great stuff
-05.06.13
Quick Take: long lasting
This definitely goes on green, but don't get scared...it rinses right off in the shower in the morning. It does give a nice golden tan, but still not quite dark enough for me. I will still repurchase because it looks natural and lasts about 3-5 days before I have to reapply. Smells decent too. I recommend getting the St. tropez mitt, otherwise it stains hands in about 2 seconds. Also, it takes a couple times to practice, so I wouldn't do it before an important event

scary at first.. but then amazing!
-05.05.13
Quick Take: long lasting
i did so much research on St. Tropez products before I finally decided to go with the dark tanning mousse. i saw one youtube review of a very, very pale girl who got the normal tanning mousse and her results were a mere glow. i'm light to olive skin toned so i went with the dark tanning mousse and am very happy i did!! the application was easy (i used the applicator mit) and just like the St. Tropez website says "as long as you cover every inch you will not get blotchy. only if you miss a spot will you notice.." that statement is so true! after the application it looked terrible! it was streaky and blotchy and i wanted to wash it all off but i let it dry and waited over night. in the morning i showered and was left with a beautiful tan! i am very pleased with this product!! make sure you shave and exfoliate 12-24 hours before application. And moisturize every day to make sure the tan lasts as long as it can

Not a fan
-04.30.13
Quick Take: long lasting
After Allure magazine made this one of their "breakthrough products" for 2012, I really wanted to try it. I have medium skin and the Clarins, that I love, never really shows up very much. I wanted a darker tan. The St. Tropez does give a dark tan but the downside is it is green on the skin. The green stuff doesn't come off until you shower and it recommends having it on for 8 hours. I slept in it and all my sheets are now brown and green. The consistency is also strange so when I put it on my face, it wouldn't go on evenly so I just washed it off. I will go back to Clarins.

The product itself is great, but is it darker than the original? I can't say that I believe it is. I still like it, I will still use it, but when it's time to repurchase I will buy the original because you get more for your money. I've included some pictures.

Compared to the Original...
-04.29.13
I've used the Original Mousse for over a year now and wanted to try this one. Considering the Original and this Darker version are both Mousses by the same company I was quite surprised by the amount of differences. There are pros and cons for both so depending on your preferences here are my thoughts.
The smell, the original does has a "self tanner smell", this new one has a perfume smell and NO "self tanner smell" at all.
The original dries out my skin more then the darker version does, however, the darker one sticks to my dry patches (elbows, knees, etc) more. And the darker one sticks to my dots on my legs... like where leg hair grows. I've tried shaving right before, after, the night before, not at all. And i get little brown dots from the self tanner no matter what. And I exfoliate too. The dots usually fade away after 2-3 showers.
The original breaks my face out and this one doesn't. I don't think the original clogs my pores, I think it dries my skin out really badly which is what causes me to break out.
The reason I purchased this product was because I liked the idea of a brown/olive/green undertone tan more then the red undertone tan. And this one does make me look brown, but it doesn't make me sooo much darker then the original. I did one leg in the original and one in the darker version. The guard color made my one leg look a lot darker, but sadly when i showered SO much of the darker mousses guard color washed right off. And my two legs looked very similar in color and undertone. Which is why I'm giving 3 stars. My one leg was slightly darker then the other but not by much. And I didn't turn into the hulk, try to shake before use I found when I didn't the mousse came out more green.
I have fair skin with pink undertones.

The color this leaves you with is amazing! The only negative about it was that you have to wash it off and the bottle doesn't explain that very well.

I used to use the St. Tropez regular mousse but wanted something darker so I was very excited when this came out! I have an olive skin tone so it looks very unnatural when I use self tanner that turns me orange. This one turns you a deep brown colour that is exactly the same as if I had spen weeks tanning outside. It lasts long, isn't streaky, the smell is completely fine and looks great! My new favourite product for sure.

This is by far the best indoor tanning product I have ever used :) The color is natural (but use the gloves as it dries fast and sticks!) and stays on for a long time if you leave it on for 24 hours. It doesn't streak and doesn't smell, it hasn't stained my clothes either!

Wasnt for me
-04.27.13
Quick Take: dries quickly, streaks
I wanted to love this mousse but it didnt work for me. The lotion does go on dark but it dries quickly which makes it difficult to fully rub it in in some places and therefore left me with streaks and darker than other area patches. Before washing it off I did go out and applied make-up to my face (which I had also applied the mousse to) and it gave my face after make-up a grey look/tint to it. I will be returning. The regular mousse orked better for me.
