ghd Gold Professional 2” Styler

What it is: A sleek styler featuring two-inch golden ceramic plates that are ideal for styling thick hair and creating larger curls. What it does: The ghd Gold Professonal 2” styler is ghd’s sleekest yet: luxurious golden plates smooth your hair for an ultra-shiny result while golden accents add a touch of glamour. What else you need to know:Sleek design allows for better handling of all types of styling. The rounded barrel easily creates curls, waves, flicks, and the "perfect straight." Ceramic heaters and contoured plates glide through hair for smoother, snag-free styling. The body stays cooler than the current generation of stylers, making the ghd Gold Professional Styler cooler to touch and lighter to handle. A protective plate-guard secures the hot plates when the styler is switched off, allowing you to safely pack them away without damaging your belongings. Sleep mode automatically switches off heaters if not used for 30 minutes. Universal voltage means optimum performance where you travel.

2 inch great for long hair
-05.09.13
I have had a one inch GHD flat iron for years and love it so much I am afraid to try any other brand. My hair is long, thick, and unruly. The two inch iron is so quick and leaves my hair straight and shiny. There is an auto off feature and no temperature control.

The best flat iron!
-03.17.13
I've tried so many flat irons: expensive ones like Chi, Sedu, and T3, and cheaper options like some of the Remington models. This is definitely my favorite flat iron ever. I was afraid to buy it for awhile, because this flat iron does not have a temperature control, and I was worried that it would damage my hair.
I finally took the plunge and bought it, and now I can't live without it. I never use any of my other straighteners anymore, because this one definitely does the best job. I always use a heat protectant, ad I always make sure that my hair is completely dry before flat ironing - and I haven't noticed any damage.

Worth the money! It cut the time it took to straighten my very thick hair in half. It heats up super fast and beeps when it's ready to be used.

I know that it's expensive...

Quick Take: fast, hot, efficient
This is definitely one of the most expensive straighteners on the market, but I can attest to how great of a straightener it is. I bought the 2 inch styler a few years ago and stepped on it, so I had to buy this one. I didn't even look at other brands. It's the best. It straightens my long, thicker hair in about 10 minutes and only takes 30 seconds (sometimes less) to heat up. This newer model is also skinnier, making it easy to straighten those little curls underneath. I will never look for another brand of straightener.

Horrible!

Quick Take: heats quickly
This iron was such a waste of time. Thank God Sephora took it back because I would've been highly upset if I was stuck with it. This iron would heat up really good but half an hour after I straightened my hair was already super frizzy and curling up, it was really annoying since my other iron that I bought from Marshall's for 16 worked better then this...smh! Btw my hair isn't even thick it is super thin so yea I wouldn't recommend this iron not even to my worst enemy.

Miracle worker!

I owned another popular hair straightener that I liked but needed one that had auto shut off for peace I mind. I decided to invest in a GHD to put my mind at ease. I didn't expect to see or feel a difference from my old straightener, but I did! I realized that although I really liked my old straightener, I LOVED this ghd! I have very long and thick hair so the larger plates cuts down my styling time. When I went to my hair stylist, I noticed she also uses a ghd straightener... At that point I realized why I always thought my hair looked better when she straightened it versus when I would do it with my old straightener. Couldn't be happier!

Quick Take: dual voltage
I don't write reviews, but I must say that I am VERY pleased with the results. I was wary about using this product since it only has one temperature setting and it's set higher than what I normally use to get bone straight hair. It was put to the ultimate test as I'm vacationing in the Philippines where it's ALWAYS humid but it passed with flying colors and my hair lasted until my next hair wash. I was able to achieve bone straight hair in high humidity?...AMAZING! Easy to straighten with no snagging! For reference I have long hair, past waist length and thick curly bi-racial hair. I would caution with those with fine or easy to break hair...use quick passes and most importantly use heat protectant always!

Tool works great but I like to curl my tips and the iron got too hot to handle. Had to return it. Sephora was great about it. Thanks!

I have fairly long and very thick wavy/curly hair (think Shakira). Before I bought this I owned a really cheap drugstore straightener for many years. This straightener is excellent. I can get a sleek look in about ten minutes. The result is more of a salon blowout- body and really nice fullness rather than stick straight. I imagine stick straight would take a little longer. Hair is shiny and healthy looking. FANTASTIC.
