NARS Debbie Harry Eye And Cheek Palette

What it is: A stunning, limited-edition eye and cheek palette featuring four new eye shadow shades and two new blush shades. What it does: Pop star meets pop artist in NARS’ Debbie Harry Eye and Cheek Palette. Reinterpreting the glamour and grit of Debbie Harry’s downtown scene, this audacious palette of shimmering shadows and blushes was created exclusively for Sephora. Inspired by Andy Warhol’s use of Diamond Dust, this sultry spectrum sparkles with shimmer and micronized diamond powder. This set contains: - 4 x 0.03 oz eye shadows in Twinkling Purple, Sparkling Turquoise, White Shimmer, Starry Black- 2 x 0.15 oz blush in Shimmering Pink Champagne and Brilliant Cream What else you need to know: The compact’s mirror comes etched with one of Warhol’s famously playful quotes: “I always say, one’s company, two’s a crowd, and three’s a party.”

Beautiful Palette!
-01.17.13
I love NARS and Andy Warhol, plus what blonde doesn't idolize Debbie Harry? Needless to say, I had to have this palette! The eyeshadows are great and like most NARS color is highly pigmented and intense. The blush and highlight had a lot of glitter in them. I like them but it isn't something I feel I could wear everyday. I think this would be a great palette for a teenager who was really into makeup or for someone who parties a lot. As a hair stylist and makeup artist, I don't feel like it would be okay to wear these as an everyday look, even in a salon setting. But this is beautiful and the quote inside defiantly becomes your beauty mantra!

Best gift I gave this year
-01.02.13
Quick Take: really nice and worth the $$
I purchased as a Christmas gift for my sister. She LOVES it, Says colors are lively and don't fade or slide down her face! We both love anything Nars. I may buy one for myself!
Shipped so fast I was shocked and pleased! Only negative was they completely forget to put in my three free samples and I was looking forward to trying some new skin creams.

Great set!
-12.31.12
I love this set. I read many of the reviews before I purchased it and was a little concerned when I saw so many negative reviews. But once I tried it on, all my concerns went away. I find the colors quite vibrant - and the shimmer/sparkle gives a really unique look for going out. It's definitely not for the daytime - but it's great for evening wear. It's not for a shy "wallflower" person because it really makes you stand out in the crowd. It really does offer a "Debbie Harry" look - and well, I guess it helps that I"m blonde because these colors really suit me.

LOVE IT!!
-12.29.12
Quick Take: good value, travel size, cute, light, lots of color, compact, stunning
I honestly don't know why this pallet has gotten any bad reviews. The colors are strong, they have glitter in them but the are not giant flakes of glitter. This is just a super fun pallet, well worth the money.

Shame on you Nars!
-12.10.12
Quick Take: not worth the money or hype
Wow, what a disappointment for a high-end brand like Nars. The palette appeared to have vibrant colors and I expected glitter, but what a mess. Chalky sheer color with lack of pigment. A complete fail and I returned it as soon as I could get to my local Sephora. Beautifully designed, even the packaging was worth keeping but there are so many better products I could spend my money on - so I did. Sorry Nars, this is a complete mess and not in a cool 70s way that it should have been!

Awesome colors!!!
-12.04.12
Really opens up your eyes with these colors. If you want to be complimented and noticed, this is the one for you! The only downfall is the shimmer can get all over your face while applying the shadows.

These colors are ideal for blonde hair and porcelain skin. I am especially thrilled with the turquoise eyeshadow.

Love!
-11.23.12
The blushes are my absolute favorite...my only complaint? I don't really care for the chunky glitter. I love the fact that the pigments aren't super saturated, but then again I always use a light hand when I do my makeup.

Vibrant and Pop
-11.18.12
Quick Take: good value, travel size
Love this palette. I love Andy Warhol and when I saw this collection was out I didn't hesitate to pick up a few things for myself. I bought the Edie Set off the NARS site, the Lips set and the Debbie Harry set. The Lips set I can go without, I'm going to try out a few more colors and if I don't like it I'm exchanging for the Silver Factory set (I WANT THE GLITTERS) and the Satellite of Love blush. But, this set is amazing! I need to play with it more to create a more solid look, but I love it. The colors are glittery and bold! Very vibrant just like a pop art painting! I absolutely adore the blush as well. What's really cool is that the colors can be toned down as well.

LOVE this palette
-11.15.12
Quick Take: good value, travel size, great colors and pigmentation
I saw the negative reviews on this, but Debbie Harry has always been one of my top faves and also Andy Warhol. I received mine today and WOW! I keep reading reviews of how there is no pigmentation in the colors, are you kidding me? it is extremely pigmented! You can brush it across your eye for sheer color, or pat it on for opaque color, you can also sweep the glitter right off if you want a matte look too, or use a sticky base to keep the glitter on. I did a look with it already and it looks awesome!! I love the blush and highlighter too, the whole package is so beautiful, this one is a keeper!

Nice but not to wear as an everyday makeup cause glitter pieces are too big.
Would have been better if it was shimmer.

The colors in this palette are beautiful. They look intense in the compact, but they go on sheer and sparkly.

Perfect pop of color
-10.29.12
Quick Take: good value, travel size
I'm a huge fan of Andy Warhol and couldn't resist this limited edition palette. The sparkles in the eyeshadows are incredible and actually show up after application (unlike some ones out there) - I love how it pairs staples (black/white) with more party colors.

Lots of glitter
-10.27.12
The colors are strong and bold and loaded with shimmer. Im still not sure if i like it, but the blush is a nice winter blush for my skin and the lighter shades work well as highlights.

wanted to love it
-10.18.12
I wanted to love this palette, the colors are great. Unfortunately I have to agree with most of the other reviews and say that I am disappointed in the quality of the makeup. It's not at all up to the normal quality of Nars makeup. The colors are not richly pigmented, they go on thin and streaky, and although they have big pieces of glitter in every color, there is no richness of shimmer and they look like streaky matte shadows with huge chunks of glitter thrown on top. The glitter, by the way, will get all over your face. Skip this one.

Does the job
-10.15.12
Quick Take: travel size
I bought this because growing up in the 80's, Debbie Harry was my idol! I always loved her look and would spend hours trying to duplicate it. When I saw this pallette, I bought it first and read the reviews later. Although I can understand some of the negative reviews, if you want the 70's-80's Blondie look, this pallette can do it(with a little help from other products). I did follow the directions first, but then realized I would have to add a little extra to get the desired look. I used my regular eye primer - Laura Mercier eye basics, wheat - and I think the results were pretty good. I also added a black tightline on the top lashes and of course, 3 coats of mascara. Other than that I used only the colours of the pallette. I did use an angled brush, which I wet as per instructions, for the liner on the lower lid. I do agree that alone, the colours can be wishy washy, but the primer helped alot. Also, there is fallout but this is a pop icon look and I think the sparkles falling under eyes and cheekbones actually enhances the 80's rockstar look. I am attaching pics - on finished application and wrist swatch - top swatch with primer - bottom without. Can this look be acheived with other products? Yeah, probably. The truth is, you don't have to spend $65 to get the look..BUT...is there another pallette that pays homage to two influencial pop culture icons as this beautifully packages set does? Nah...I don't think so....

Mediocre at best
-10.14.12
So this isn't the worst palette ever known to man. That being said, given the reputation of NARS and this collection being all about color... the color payoff fails pretty bad. Totally not worth that pretty penny. I've seen drugstore makeup perform better. The glitter wasn't all that bad except the highlighter and the fall out was workable. The packaging was the only thing that I liked. :( Too bad because I really wanted to like this palette.

JUST INGENIOUS
-10.11.12
Quick Take: good value, travel size, a whole look in one!, covetable and collectible
I do not understand the negative reviews ATALL. FIrst of all, I am very, very fair and was skeptical about the pink/brown cheek color. But you know what, Francois knows what he is talking about--gorgeous. The shadows are INCREDIBLY pigmented and if you followed the application instructions on how to use the whole palette (wash of turquoise on lids, purple wash on lower lash line, white in the corners, black as liner, blush and white shimmery powder on bridge of nose, forehead and temples) you should look just as gorgeous.
This look is not for everyone. I wear it with fuchsia lips a la Debbie Harry and it looks devine. I have been a makeup artist for years and Nars always turns out quality products. The Debbie Harry Eye and CHeek Palette is one of the best yet. Too bad it doesn't come with a lip color though...
