Quick Take: easy to use high quality
Great results if you follow the instructions. Not as long lasting as a salon gelicure, but I was tired of waiting in line at the salon for an hour and then paying $35/pop for a polish. Easy to do, cute colors. Lasts about 2 weeks. Very satisfied. Oh! Work on toes, too!

I don't typically write reviews, but after using this I had to. This gel system is amazing! I usually get my gel manicures at a salon, but at $40 every time, money was adding up. So I decided to try this. After the first time I fell in love! The directions are very clear and easy to use. My color has lasted for 2 weeks and is easy to remove.

Quick Take: great, easy, produces consistent results
My daughter recently got gel nails done in a salon and loved them. We saw this kit and wanted to see if we could do it at home instead of waiting for salon appointments. I really liked the idea of being able to do my nails whenever I wanted instead of having to wait for a salon appointment.
We got his kit and love it. It worked great and produced a better manicure than what my daughter had gotten in the salon. I would highly recommend this kit.
For anyone new to this kit, I wanted to let you know of one issue we had. All the coats stayed slightly tacky until we did the top coat and wiped them with alcohol. Initially, we thought we were doing something wrong even though we had followed the directions. Turns out we did nothing wrong. Everything hardened once the top coat was on.
I would really like Sephora to do more colors in the gels!

This kit had everything I needed, great instructions, and quality products. Yes, it's just an "at home" system but the results were very professional! I've never had trouble giving myself a manicure and have always gotten compliments on my nails but I was skeptical about my abilities the gel system. No problem what so ever! Yepeee...

I cannot get regular nail polish longer than 2 days without chipping. I bought this set and 10 days later still had my nails looking good. I cleaned the house, gardened without gloves, did dishes without gloves, etc and it didn't chip at all. Wow

Quick Take: amazing, easy to use, great results
I have done 4 manicures and have found this system to provide great-looking nails that really last. Now my nails look as great as my friends gels from the salon - in fact we can't tell the difference. Prior to use, I never had a salon gel manicure - only solar nails. I am loving the gel and the fact that there is no damage to your nails if you follow proper removal instructions.
A few tips
- Watch a video or two before you begin and carefully follow the steps in the instruction booklet
- Don't skip the prep work (it's fast and easy and doesn't require much buffing at all)
- Make sure you use thin coats (if you get too much product on the nail, wipe the brush as clean as you can on the sides of the bottle and then wipe the brush over your nail to remove excess gel)
- Instead of brushing on gel from the cuticle (top of nail) to tip, begin your stroke about 1/3 of the way down the nail and then push the brush up toward the cuticle. This will help you to not get gel on the cuticle and eliminate the problem of too much get near the cuticle. Since the gel won't dry until you put it under the LED, you don't have to worry about it getting gummy like regular nail polish. Go slowly and avoid getting gel to close to the cuticle (using the cuticle pusher to remove excess gel is not the easiest and your polish will not look as good if you need to take this step)
- If you are using a dark color gel, cure your nails for 60 seconds before the top coat to prevent any dark gel transferring to the brush of your top coat.
- I have found it easier to seal all the nail tips before brushing gel on the top of the nail (turn your hand and put a thin coat of gel on the free edge and then polish -- I seal all 4 tips at once instead of one at a time)
- The Sephora "Meet Me at the Disco" Top Coat is great if you like a little bit of glitter over your color. You can use one coat or two top coats if you want a little more sparkle.
- You can use Opi Gelcolor and get the same results as Gelshine (this gives you many more color options than Sephora currently has available in Gelshine)

I love this kit!! This was my first at-home gel set and I can't say I'd ever want to use another. It really is worth the money. I have done my nails at least 5 or 6 times and I have already made up for the money spent on the kit. The gels last about two weeks (sometimes even longer if you're careful) and look fantastic. I won't bother getting gels done at a salon anymore!

Quick Take: easy to use, of great quality
I have experience working with UV gels, so when i saw this LED kit in the store that I could try out, I went to town. The LED is much safer than the UV light and cures in 30 seconds rather than 2min. It comes with everything you need and the option to pick my own color as my first was a nice special touch (especially since i though i was getting red with the kit). The only thing I wish is that the acetone/gel remover bottle was bigger so that we got more of that. I like that product better than acetone available at the store. All in all, if you want to start doing gel nails at home that are high quality (they're partnered with OPI so the quality is totally there) this is kit is for you as well as the seasoned experienced gals like myself, great kit to add to my nail collection.

This kit is amazing! I waited months to buy this and kept putting it off because it was so expensive. I finally bit the bullet and bought it because I was tired of paying to get my nails done and I had heard that you could use the base and top coat with regular polish in the middle. I LOVE this kit. I think the gel color is the best way to go because it goes on the best, but you can really use regular polish too, it just doesn't last as long. I share colors with my friend and we share buying the removal products and stuff. Great buy. I use it on my toes too and save money on manis! I still like to get a pedicure here and there tho!

I used the system twice. The instructions were very easy to follow and I felt like I did a pretty decent job my first time around. I got many compliments and people were surprised to learn it was the at home gel kit. My manicure lasted about 1.5 weeks before it started to peel and I picked at it. I was pleased with the easy removal, I soaked the gels for less than recommended and they came right off. The second time I did the kit, I was a little less careful and got some of the gel on my cuticle, so the sides of some nails are starting to peel, but all in all it still looks good, and I still got compliments.

Everybody is selling some kind of gel manicure kit, everyone is getting it done at salons. This kit is easy to use and will seriously save you money. After researching the cost of buying all the pieces separately at other stores or online, I went with the kit because it is a good value. I bought the pale see-thru pink color to start, it was easy to apply and looked amazing. I actually got tired of the color before it started to come off about 12 days later! The photo is after 5 days of wearing it.

I tried Gelish and Red Carpet Manicure, both were messy taking off. RCM's colors were not true to color and looked "plasticy" I was mixing colors, just trying to match the color of the bottle. With this kit colors are true, long-lasting. Clean up is a breeze...Well, about 20 min. For the most part the polish cracks and lifts.

I absolutely love this nail kit!!! It's worth every penny. I use it every 2 weeks, my nails/toes always look perfect and never chip! I can't tell you how many people ask where I get my nails done. Ive purchased 9 of the gelshine colors and love them all!!!! I definitely recommend this product, just think of all the money you'll save when you don't have to go to a salon!

I had never had a gel manicure before because I generally don't think those kinds of things are worth the money, but being able to do it whenever I want without additional expense makes this perfect for my life. My nails tend to perpetually flake and split from use and abuse, and regular polish looks pretty sad after just a day. I'd been wanting an at-home gel system for a while, so this hit the spot.
After two weeks of just base coat and top coat on my finger nails, they're finally growing out nicely. I love the "super shiny but otherwise natural" look of it without worrying at all about my nails splitting or breaking. A reapplication of top coat after a week helps with the fact the polish at the tips had worn down and was getting rough from the underlying split nails. Once I cut off the split tips and do another round of polish, I'm looking forward to the perfect, stronger nails underneath. My "break a legwarmer" pedicure is also looking pristine after two weeks without doing a thing.
This is truly amazing stuff and I'll never, ever go back to regular polish.

I am So happy about this at home gel kit. I have had it a few weeks now and I have only had one tiny small chip in my nail and that was after I pinched my finger in a draw lol. I give this set a 5 out of 5...for those of you who are discouraged by the negative reviews, dont be!!! Absolutely great...just follow the eeaaasssyy directions. I "cure" the nail with the uv light after each coat and I have lasting results for at least 3 to 4 weeks not even kidding... :)
No more $30 a pop visits to the salon.

I had always had traditional UV gel nails with extensions but gave them up for a potential career change to a health care field where I was told the most I would be allowed was "gel polish". Gel polish seemed too easy to pay for so I purchased this kit after researching online and it has been the best thing I have ever done for my nails!
The system is so easy to use, and everyone can do it following the instruction booklet it comes with. I was nervous about doing my own gel at first but it is honestly so easy to work with, much easier than regular nail polish. The consistency of the gel is great and I can easily get a week of wear, often pushing two weeks. Would never go back to UV gels or regular nail polish again! I have grown out my nails and shaped into stiletto nails and they look as good as if I got them done at the nail salon, minus the negative effects of UV gel and extensions ruining your natural nails. The gel polishes allow your nails to grow SO long and healthy, and no exposure to UV! This is seriously so easy though and fun... Would not pay someone when I can achieve these results. For reference, it normally takes me 40 minutes to do my nails which can feel long near the end but is worth it.

I was a little skeptical when I first purchased. I recently removed my acrylic nails after many years and was looking for a way to keep my nail polish from chipping within an hour of applying. I bought this set and followed the directions step by step and all I can say is wow. I was able to go 11 days before I saw just a tiny bit of lifting at the tips and never did see a chip. I work as a full time dog groomer and through all the washing and drying I had an amazing manicure. This system is a miracle!
