It has a floral scent but yet its light. For a perfume that smells like roses, it isnt over powering. Not like your grandma's perfume. My only complaint is that that scent doesn't last long. Then again its a toilette.

I love the original Stella fragrance, but after using it for 4 years, found it to be a tad too strong for my changing tastes. I heard about Summer Rose & purchased it due to fantastic reviews I read online. I rarely ever purchase a fragrance without sampling it first, because I have finicky body chemistry that can alter the most luscious-smelling fragrance!
I enjoy rose scents, as long as the rose is not obvious. I grew up smelling my mom's Rose Milk lotion, which gave me headaches because of the strong one-note rose scent. I love fragrances that blend rose with other scents so that the rose is not overpowering, even barely discernible.
I purchased the 3.3 oz EdT from Sephora online. I fell in love upon first spritz and loved it even more as the day went by! I didn't know it was a EdT until I received my order & was skeptical of the staying power, but it definitely lasted all day, even in hot SoCal weather, to my surprise. This is a lighter rose version of Stella. Very sophisticated & feminine. I layered Stella & Summer Rose one day (to lighten up the scent of Stella) & it was delicious!
Sadly, this is a LE fragrance. Already unavailable on Sephora's website (& cannot be found in Sephora's B&M stores). I am so sad about it. Don't know what I'm going to do when I run out! :(

Quick Take: good value, sensual, soft
This smells so wonderful! I've heard many glowing reviews on this, especially from one of my favorite youtubers. So I finally looked on the sephora site to look at the price. When I saw how many ounces you get I caved and ordered it. I was scared since I've never owned any other Stella McCartney fragrance and have never sampled this one. But it's absolutely gorgeous!
It's a light fresh kind of floral and doesn't smell old ladylike at all. I think it's the peony and amber that keeps the rose from smelling overbearing. It's such a soft, intimate fragrance while still having good projection. It's elegant, sensual, and innocent all at the same time. I'm sad this is limited edition because I don't know what I'm going to do when my bottle runs out.

Quick Take: mesmerizing, forever adore
I really like the scent of roses but it wasn't until Summer Rose that I thought the scent was justified. It's fragrant but not abrasive or overwhelming. I enjoy the way Summer Rose make me feel when I wear it. It's as if I have a budding rose wedging between my ear and my hair.

The original Stella fragrance is my all-time favorite perfume, so I tried this version without testing first, especially since roses are my favorite flower. The rose aspect of this scent version softens it and provides the wearer a softer, even sexier perfume than the original Stella. Like other reviewers, I agree that this is not a granny rose perfume. Definitely a keeper- I'm buying a second bottle since this is only offered for a short time.

Quick Take: good value
I was all too pleased when I found this in the store! Stella's original scent, (for which this is based), is my signature. However, this is an extreme value because this bottle is only $62 versus the original scent is $90! Well worth the money! I adore that this scent is quite exclusive as I have yet to see it anywhere other than Sephora. I receive compliments on this fragrance from men and women alike. My husband says it's by far the sexiest and most sensual fragrance he's ever smelled on me. And I have had other men stop me and ask me what fragrance was I wearing.
I have the silver solid perfume pendant which I also adore.

I love roses, but this fragrance is so much more than that: it's lush, feminine, warm... sexy! Love the Amber nuance combined with the romantic scent of roses! It's my new favorite fragrance.

Rose Minus the "Grandma Effect"

I'm old enough to remember when older ladies everywhere would douse themselves in either rose or gardenia perfume. My grandma always reeked of drugstore-rose cologne. Scary stuff. Stella McCartney's Summer Rose is nowhere near "Granny Level." The top note is rose, this is true. But the added notes make it fresh and light and very nice. I bought this sight unseen (or smell unsniffed, I guess), and I'm very glad I did. Lovely bottle, too.

I have been looking for a rose perfume for a long time. I tried one at another store, and it smelled nice at first but then it smelled very old and not rosey at all. This one smells like sweet roses when you first put it on, then fades just slightly. It doesn't change to the older smell. My only complaint is that it didn't last as long as I would have liked, but that didn't prevent me from buying it!

If you want a fresh rosy perfume, this is for you. It was way too rosy for me and pretty strong, I got a headache after my first try. I am returning it and will continue my search for a summery version of my favorite- Hot Couture.

I love love love this scent. It is light and fresh and rosey. To me the amber is muted, so i'd mix it with the signature "Stella" for longer lasting strength.I only had one problem. The bottle was defective, but the awesome customer service department took care of it! Limited edition, so ladies don't delay!

Quick Take: a big bottle for the $62 price
I have been looking for so long for a scent that smells just like roses and I have finally found it! I am very picky about what scents I wear and I usually end up not liking many perfumes I try on. Summer Rose is sweet and fresh, not your grandma's rose perfume either! Smells like a fresh summer breeze with roses in the air!
