I ordered the #18 Bleu Majorelle nail laquer and the colour was pretty true to what was shown on the website and evoked fond memories of a trip to the YSL Majorelle Garden in Marrakech, Morocco. Application was what you'd expect, dried quickly and resisted chipping...although I always apply a clear top coat to ensure durability of my manicure, regardless of what polish I use.

Quick Take: non-streaky, easy to use
Bought #25, rose romantique. Love it! Is sheer but doesn't streak at all, as it goes on. Perfect for a polished simple look. Compared to other top brands, I've only tried Chanel, Butter London and OPI, but I like this brush and formula a whole lot better than all of those. The best I've tried.

My favourite polishes in the past have been Nars and Chanel. But now, YSL is tops for me! The saturated, chic colours (which are often one-coat and do not stain upon removal) , packaging, long-wearing and moisturizing formula makes for an enjoyable and trouble-free polish. Also the brush is fantastic. I have Bleu Majorelle, Khaki Arty, Pop Rouge, Prune Minimal, Gris Deco, Bronze Aztec and none have disappointed me!

I bought 4 colors. (22,23,25 &28). I love them all. I am hard on my hands & nails so polish rarely lasts more than 3 days but YSL polishes have lasted closer to 5. So for me YSL is great. With the lighter colors you WILL need 3 coats.

I feel like I have tried every nailpolish. The more expensive, the less expensive and paired them with any number of base/topcoat combinations. The end result is always the same-chips in a few hours. I was skeptical on spending this much on nailpolish, but after seeing mostly positive reviews ,I decided to give it a try. The application was fantastic. The brush is wider and flatter then your usual brush. I think this makes the color go on super smooth and even. Sometimes I have trouble with bubbles after the polish is dry, but not with this product at all. The color is vibrant.I used with a drugstore base and topcoat and this polish lasted for about a week. It was totally chip free for 5 days with no touch-ups. I did some painting in our basement, dishes, and went to work as a nurse where I am constantly washing my hands.I have never had a manicure last this long before. I gave it 4 stars due to the high price, I feel a little guilty spending this much on one nailpolish. But, if I find myself with a little extra, I will definately buy this in another color. The long lasting color is worth it!

Called a Classic for a reason!

I had two other YSL nail polishes before I finally decided to invest in the cult favoriate #18 Bleu Majorelle, mainly because of the 15% discount, which is really rare for YSL products. And today I put it on immediately after receiving it, one word, LOVE! the formula is a bit watery but it builds very well for two coats, the colour is not your typical blue, but very sophisticated indeed. Highly recommend this colour to blue lovers and others who want to try a YSL nail polish.
Tip: I did not use a base coat but I did use a top coat from Butter, it'll last much longer and stay glossy all the way!

I am sorry girls and boys but I could not resist commenting.
I applied this lacquer two coats and went home to compare to my nail polish collection and to be honest I found a dupe.
So the only thing you are paying for is the brand name that is all.

I can't seem to keep any polish, any brand, applied by me or the nail salon, on and unchipped for more than about 8 hours. However, this polish is the only exception. Three days after application (no top coat, no base coat - I have never found them to help) the polish remains unchipped, glossy, pretty. The Rose Roamntique is a very sheer very light pink (little coverage). I look foward to getting some of the more intense colors. Worth every penny.

This is one tough nail lacquer! It lasts and does not easily chip. I purchased peacock blue (18) and love it. The nail lacquer is brilliant and has a nice matte finish. It is a bit pricey, but worth it. Splurge and treat yourself to a wonderful product by YSL!

Loved the quality of the polish. The brush is really nice and rounded for easier application. After putting it on it lasted over a week without any chipping whatsoever. I would definitely recommend.

YSL is definitely one of my favorite nail polishes, if not my favorite. I bought the rouge pop art and corail colisee. It dries super quickly and has great shine. Also, the colors are gorgeous. My favorite thing about them is that the brush is wide enough so I can paint the entire nail with just one swipe. The application was great: no streaks and hardly any clean up required. It went on very smoothly and I was able to layer flawlessly. The packaging is also super luxe. They're pricey, but I think they're worth it.

I'm a polish junky, and mostly choose higher end stuff because I appreciate really good quality. I'm so impressed with the YSL polishes. The wider brush makes application fast and smooth. Even milkier colors like "Rose Abstrait" ,which tend to be streaky in others lines, apply beautifully. I'm not made of money, so I try to choose very wisely how I spend my money by finding high quality products that actually deliver on their claims, and these are worth every penny. Well done, YSL!

I'm an old fashionista who has purchased many polishes, all price ranges, and this, by far, is the best ever. The fact the polish itself doesn't have that awful stinky smell is wonderful, esp for asthma/allergy sufferers, but the polish lasts! And the best part is the brush - it holds the polish and applies it all to the nail at one time. Excellent product!!! Better than Chanel, Lippman, Opi, etc.

The first YSL polish I bought was the blue majorelle shade. Its a bright indigo? I think the same shade as the photo of the last reviewer? All I know is I did one or two coats of the polish on and it did not chip or wash off for...I think about a month and half or longer. I was SO impressed. At first you're like 25bucks...that's a lot of money but I believe if you can use a polish 2-3times you get money's worth its cheaper than getting your nails done ONCE professionally and I tried every a lot of different brands and I can honestly tell you as long as you find THE COLOR you love, you won't be disappointed. I ended up buying 2 more shades and Im not done yet!!

im in love with nail polishes. use only two brands chanel and ysl. have about 20 chanel polishes and only 6 so far of ysl. if you buy ysl you will be in love with them. my favorite is Bleu majorelle . im not crazy about blue nails but this one is the one for me. so bright and yet classy . i also have the yellow one , dont know the name but it was limited edition and kinda looks like chanel's mimosa. have bleu cobalt. noir primitif and minty and chocolate ones also limited edition. they are great. dry fast. no bubbles stay shiny even without top coat
