Not designed for fine hair....

In theory, the nubs to keep your hair in place should create precision.... But on affine head of hair these notches create a micro-pattern scalded into your hair, and in turn it just looks frizzy. I returned it after 1 use.

I have very fine, long, straight hair that still need to be straightened or it is frizzy, and my hair has NEVER held a curl for more than a couple of hours. This product is a miracle, my hair keeps a beautiful curl all day long and I even wake up the next day and it is still wavy. Amazing must have product for anyone dreaming of beautiful waves :-) thank you Sultra

I have used other curling irons with the clamp and this iron is far superior. More expensive than many, but worth the price. It is so easy to use and the curl lasts all day. The curls come out loose, bouncy, and natural for a casual or an evening look.

Quick Take: disappointing
Very disappointed in this curling iron. It does not heat up more than 360 degrees which is not enough to curl my thick hair. I ended up buying a clamp-style curling iron from Sally's (recommended by my hair stylist) which works wonders in curling and smoothing my hair.

Quick Take: not worth the money
My hair is fine, shoulder length, with some long layers. Sending back. This tool made my hair look dry and somewhat frizzy--like a bad 80s perm. Also, the raised "notches" will leave crimp marks if you're not careful. I have since purchased a smooth, tapered barrel iron for about half the price, and I love it. Tip: buy a 2nd heat resistant glove -- it will make your life easier.

Quick Take: well worth the money
I have such a hard time keeping curl in my hair. It usually falls within an hour. This changed with the rod. i read so many reviews on how the curls stayed and I couldn't wait to try it for myself. The waves/curls i created stayed overnight and I had beautiful hair for work the next day. I had so many compliments, even though i had slept on these curls all night. I love the beautiful beachy waves it creates, and its easy to use!

Quick Take: amazing
This is the best investment I've ever made. My hair is very fine, and I've never been able to find anything that will make it stay curled. With this, my hair stays perfectly curled all day, and even still looks good when I wake up the next morning, and I don't even need to use hairspray. This may be the best purchase I've ever made.

Quick Take: outstanding !!
I am so thrilled with this tool that I am taking all my other curling irons to GoodWill. The Bombshell has finally delivered a steadfast curl/wave/ringlet that I have desired for years. I have mastered a tight ringlet, loose wave and bouncy curl all with one tool. My hair has never held a curling iron style for longer than a few hours. The Bombshell delivers a style that holds through sleeping overnight to the next day. I am elated ! BEST product I have purchased in years.

My hair is long, so I wasn't able to wrap it all. The barrel wasn't long enough, and also the texture leaves a lasting imprint on the hair looking like a crimp. This would be ideal for people just learning how to use the clipless cone barrel rod. Will keep in my suitcase for travel.

Tried it, disliked that it heats up to 360 degrees. Way too hot for my chemically treated hair. So my hair started to brake all over the place. It should have different temperature settings and let the customer select what's best for them. Was excited about it, really wanted to like it but returned it.

I returned this b/c I could see the marks in my hair from the thermagrip indentations. You could barely see it but I have really shiny healthy hair and it made it look frizzy due to the indentations. Also the wand part was too skinny. I bought the T3 too and kept that one. Though it doesn't grip as well but I didn't want the marks in my hair even though they were very subtle.

Quick Take: impressive
I have fine, thin hair, lucky me. I have tried barrel curling irons, flat irons, hot curlers, etc. to give some body or volume to my stick straight hair. And after using these items I looked good until I hit the door to go out, then FLAT, it all falls flat. So I was leary spending the $$ on another curling iron....but after reading some reviews it sounded like it worked for others who were 'blessed' with the same hair type. So I tried it....and I'm so GLAD I took the risk!! I can't believe the results! Not only do you not have to hold the curler for 10 minutes on a chunk of hair, but my curls lasted until the NEXT DAY! And the more I use it the more I'm figuring out how to get different results i.e., wave, curl, body. I absolutely love this iron and I'm glad I took the risk. Totally worth the money. One thing though....definitely use the glove it comes with. If you don't you'll burn the heck out of your fingers (first timers mistake-ouch).

I'd give this 10 stars if I could. My straight, thick but fine hair doesn't curl for anything. For years I've tried different tools and products and the curls fall within a couple hours. Even on my wedding day (using a very professional and highly recommended stylist) my hair was straight by the end of the ceremony. It took about 15-20 minutes to get amazing curls with this curling iron. Here I am the next day and still have amazing curls even after a good nights sleep. My husband couldn't get enough it!

I tried three other curling wands as well as curling irons and this is the BEST. I have thin hair and all the other tools did not hold the curl. The Bombshell Cone Rod Curling Iron holds my hair for the entire day and the next day I have beautiful loose curls. Love Love. If you're going to spend the money, spend it on this. I use the glove and I have not burned myself yet. I find it easy to use and faster than a regular curling iron.

Quick Take: amazing, long lasting curls, easy to use
My hair is VERY long and curls always pull out of it. This tool can do anything from a tight curl to a soft wave in my hair and it stays throughout the night with a little spray! I actually get compliments every time I use it. It took me one try to figure out HOW to use it but now I can go through my whole head quickly and easily!

Quick Take: amazing, long lasting
First review ever but I simply had to gush. I have mounds of superfine super long hair and no matter what I can't get a curl to hold more than a few hours. I thought the Sultra 1" bombshell was the answer to my prayers (it's still great don't get me wrong) until I met my new best friend in the cone rod curling iron. I curled my hair with this gem at 3 pm yesterday and after combing it multiple times and sleeping on it my hair is still curly (more relaxed than yesterday obviously). And the best part? I didn't even have to shellack my head with a bunch of hair spray, just a little heat spray and a fine spritz of hair spray. Best curling Iron I've ever had. Worth every penny to someone like me who has longed for curls for the last decade.

Quick Take: multi-purpose, time saving, heats quickly
I have a baby-fine hair and can't hold any curls. Once I curl, it fall flat within 2 hours. Until I come across this Cone Rod and 3/4 bombshell, it gave me curls until the next day! The ridges on the Cone helps hold the hair in place, compare to the 3/4 bombshell, it easily slide off.
This Cone give me a perfect tousled, beachy waves! Thank you, Sultra!!
