Retinol for day is interesting BUT...
-04.26.13
This product was okay, but I prefer to use retinol products at night since it's positive results can be negatively impacted by sunlight, or aha/bha acids. Didn't see visible results so went back to using a night time retinol serum and glycolic and salcylic acid during the day, which yields better results for me.

Works just stick with it

When I started using this product (2 pumps) in the morning only, I felt like my skin was sunburned. I toned it down to one pump and then used my normal face cream over it and it did the trick. It does seem to dry me out slightly, but if I do the Philosophy The Great Mystery (one min daily facial), it sloughs off the dry and my face feels SO SOFT. So overall I don't think this product is good full strength. This is my first time trying a retinol product so maybe this is normal.

Good idea, bad product

Quick Take: not worth it!
I was excited to try this because I've been looking for a good moisturizer with SPF 30+ and thought the retinol would be a bonus. However, I was very disappointed . It is much too thick and gunky and did nothing for my skin. First philosophy product I have ever returned.

Good investment!

This product is on the pricey side but definitely worth it. Like others have mentioned, it feels a bit thick when you first apply it but absorbs quickly so it's not an issue. My skin's on the oily side and I don't mind wearing this every day.

I liked the sample
-10.14.12
As soon as I heard about this new product I ran to the Philosophy counter at Von Maur to get a sample. They gave me enough to use every morning for a week. I agree with another review that it is not the best consistency, but rubs in better than expected. I can't say I'm looking for any sort of results out of it. I see it as more of a preventive measure. Cost is high, but it's my favorite brand with retinol and SPF. I've been waiting for this product for a long time! Finally saved up to order the full size.

Good so far!

Quick Take: hydrating, moisturizing, heavy, protective
Bought this lotion because i needed a new day lotion and it had the 2 main things everyone in my age group (28) should be using. Retinol & SPF. Tried it for the first time this morning- cant say too much yet although it did go on slightly heavy & milky (sort of like a stright up beach sun tan lotion) but it did end up rubbing in pretty well. After absorbed it didnt feel as heavy but i was a little nervous when i first applied. A bit on the pricey side but has what i need- we shall see how it goes!
