Pro Tip 1: Get shade matched with this new formula. bareMinerals READY Foundation shades differ from Original and Matte foundation and may appear lighter on your skin. To find your best shade, we recommend visiting a Sephora store to get shade matched. Pro Tip 2: As a general guide, try going one to two shade-families up from your typical Original or Matte foundation shade. For example, Fairly Light users may consider Fairly Medium or Medium Beige. Medium Beige users may consider Medium Tan or Golden Tan. Pro Tip 3: For full coverage, use the Precision Face brush. Tap your brush very lightly onto the foundation. Buff gently onto skin with long, graceful strokes. A little goes a long way. For medium coverage, use the Flawless Application brush. Tap your brush very lightly onto the foundation. Buff gently onto skin in a circular motion. Research results: Test results show that time-released mineral hydration delivers up to a 108% increase in skin hydration after 12 hours of wear

Great Foundation

Quick Take: buildable coverage, long wearing, oil-free
I usually use a combination of the original and matte foundations but this product is the perfect combo of both. Easy to apply and stays on all day while keeping my skin oil free.

Quick Take: buildable coverage, long wearing
I have noticed a lot of bad reviews for this product. I think that the bad reviews might be due to not knowing how to apply it for the best results and not being properly color matched. And...let's face it, there are some foundation brands that just aren't going to be a proper color match for everyone. Also, knowing what undertone you are will help tremendously in choosing ANY type of foundation. I have tried many different ways to apply this product. The conclusion I have come to is primer and moisturizer are a must. I also use Benefit The Porefessional on my forehead, nose and cheeks. Letting all of these products dry completely is also a must. Today, I tried using just a moisturizer and it was not pretty. I had weird streaks all over my face. When I use a primer, moisturizer and the porefessional, it gives medium coverage. I have VERY fair skin with neutral undertones and I wear the Fairly Light. When I first saw it in the package, it looked ark but when applied it, it matched seamlessly. Yes, it does get a little messy but whatever powder gets on my make up desk, I just swirl my kabuki brush in it and let that be my last application on my face. The more I use, the more coverage I get with this foundation. I have never found it to be cakey or dry and I tend to have dry areas around my mouth and nose. I imagine if you used gobs of it, you might look cakey and shimmery but if that's the case, I would advise purchasing a full coverage liquid foundation. This foundation gives my skin a nice glow. Pretty much the only negative thing I could say about this product is that towards the end of the day, some shine comes out on my nose but this is the only oily place on my face and this tends to happen with any foundation or powder I use. One little light swipe of the foundation in that area and it looks just as good as when I originally applied it. For the person that wants a more natural make up application, I highly recommend this product. As with any make up, knowing the best application process is key. I do not wear any concealer because my dark circles aren't terrible and this gives a sheer coverage to them. It's fine for me for every day. My husband prefers when I don't wear any make up but with this, it's a great compromise. He said it looks more natural than my DiorSkin Nude, which is a pretty natural looking liquid foundation. My liquid foundation is expensive and I will now be saving it for special occasions, along with my DiorSkin Nude Skin Perfecting Hydrating Concealer and my Amazing Cosmetics concealer. I just replaced three products that would cost me over $100.00 with a $30.00 product that will give me just enough coverage to feel put together each day and save those more expensive products for special occasions. I think that's a pretty great deal!

LOVE IT!

Quick Take: buildable coverage, long wearing, oil-free
At first I hated this product, as it turns out I had the wrong color!!!You have to order this color TWO shades darker than the loose foundation. I learned this from a popular shopping channel Q*V. When I purchased the new color and gave it another chance I could not be happier! It cuts down on my get ready time, and looks natural yet has full coverage. Just make sure you purchase the correct shade!

First, good luck applying this. Second, it's messy. The lightest touch of the brush leaves a pile of the product in the compact which then leaves a mess in your sink or wherever you tap it out of. Original is so much better.

Disappointed and unimpressed
-05.18.13
Back in 2005 I had used bareMinerals original foundation and I felt like that it was lacking coverage. The shades that it came in were also limited, therefore, I didn't feel like I got a good match up. Fast forward to 2013, eight years later, you would think that they would have come out with a better selection of different shades. Unfortunately, this was not the case because I was matched twice and still both shades
left me either too light or too dark. In addition, I felt bareMinerals Ready foundation gave a very cakey finished look. I noticed it would also accentuate my dry spots and my post acne scars rather than covering them up. The coverage left my skin looking dry and looking like I packed on a ton of makeup. Sadly to say, I will be steering clear of bareMinerals and confiding in other makeup brands in search of a better powder or loose powder.

Meh
-05.18.13
Quick Take: oil-free, light coverage
I normally use the loose powder, and only bought this because they were out of my color. I really don't like this one, and I'll stick with loose powder from now on. If you like the pressed powder, you have to go a shade darker usually. It is more convenient on the go, as the powder doesn't get all over your car & clothes, but it's a much lighter finish on your skin.

Don't buy!
-05.17.13
I bought this product because I thought it would solve the problem of powder everywhere....nooooo it did not. Plus it doesn't go on smoothly. It looks caked on and through out the day I have areas on my face where it like collects and looks a mess. It settles in creases and pores to accentuate them. This product revealed flaws I didn't know I had. Much prefer the original powder of this.

I purchased this for the convenience of not having to deal with a loose powder and it was a mistake. The powder goes everywhere once you press your brush to it and does not give a natural finish. It looked very caked on and accentuated my pores. It was returned.

Beautiful buildable coverage! You do have to go up a couple shades from the original bare minerals foundation tho as it does run much lighter! However, I love it; the coverage is awesome and doesn't take much to go a long way! It works better when you lotion/prime your face before applying. I would recommend getting the brush that is made for this foundation, it glides across your face and is so delicate and soft; much better than the other foundation brushes! Don't hesitate!

I am a regular user of the bareminerals loose foundation and like it. I actually bought this as a gift for my mom and we both wear medium beige but I got a darker color because they advised you go up a shade or 2. She let me try it and it's really amazing , the color is perfect even though it looks darker on here it blends well with my skin tone. I'm going to buy my own.

Not Worth It!
-05.08.13
Quick Take: awful
This is not a good pressed foundation. It looks cakey. Just awful! I tried it in two shades and both looked awful. I was so embarrassed to walk on this make up. But I discovered that BE is not natural or has natural ingredients. People do your research on the ingredients of this foundation. You will be surprised.

Quick Take: buildable coverage, long wearing
I was happy to try the new bareMinerals ready foundation and find that the coverage is excellent. I was guided in my color selection by a salesperson in my local Sephora store.
I particularly like the SPF of 20 as I want to avoid sun
damage. This product is a keeper!

My summer color
-05.07.13
Quick Take: buildable coverage, oil-free, long wearing
Love READY solid mineral foundation; such a clean way to use minerals, and the bareMinerals line has the best shade for my yellow-olive coloring. I usually use Golden Medium but it can be too light when I'm (naturally) tanner in spring/summer. Bought Golden Tan and it's the perfect color for my summer coloring. A better effect overall than bronzer for me.

Best Foundation
-05.07.13
BE has outdone themselves with this foundation. It goes on beautifully with the angled brush. I tend to wear heavier foundation to cover skin imperfections and love the way it looks on my skin. It also covers blemishes well when using the max concealer brush. There are online tutorials that help with the application since you need to use more of a sweeping application than the buff, tap, and swirl with the original foundation.
I wear Fairly Light in the original foundation but medium beige in Ready Foundation. You MUST get color-matched when you first buy this product. I finish with a light application of mineral veil. Outstanding product!

Foundation that doesn't look or feel like it
-05.06.13
Quick Take: buildable coverage, oil-free, long wearing, convenient, good value
I bought this after returning Urban Decay's Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup because it literally wiped off my skin all day. I've stayed away from powder formulas in the past because I don't like how they tend to look cakey on my skin. I tried this on in store and was lucky enough to pick the right shade the first time. It literally disappeared on my skin, and like the commercial says it was "me only better". My skin was not oily or dry, but had a glow that no other product I've tried has given. I love that it's in compact form so that I can take with me. I may buy another to keep in my purse.
I bought the soft focus face brush, which has both synthetic and natural bristles, instead of the flawless application face brush. I like it much better. Application was perfect, not too much or too little and the bristles are so soft.
I am very happy with this purchase and will definitely buy again.

Fragile
-05.06.13
Quick Take: buildable coverage, long wearing, oil-free
This product works wonderfully if you use it as directed--a little goes a very long way. Be warned, though, it is VERY fragile. My makeup bag tipped over and the cake of power shattered completely. After much puzzling over what to do, I realized that you can open the traditional sifter box from the bottom (very tricky) and I was able to salvage the remaining product. I like the coverage and feel so much that I will buy again, but I will be extra careful next time.

My new Favorite :)
-05.05.13
Quick Take: buildable coverage, long wearing, oil-free
Just got this product and went directly to the original bare minerals color I thought I was (medium tan), but realized it was super light and made my face look chalky. I asked a lady at the store and she told me this new formula has different colors, so she helped match my shade (I ended up with Golden Tan). I couldn't really tell in the store, but since then have tried it during the day and at night, and it is my new favorite product. I just use a powder brush to apply and add extra layers to get the coverage I need/ want. This product is totally light-weight and doesn't even look (or feel!) like you are wearing makeup. It also has a different finish from the powders-looks super natural.
