Let me be very frank to say that this product may not be for everyone. I have been a SK-II user since I was in my mid 20's but have switched off and on to the regime because I was fearful that my skin responded too well to the range of products too quickly. This is one which worked too well for me perhaps because I was using it in combination with the Essence and the Repair C Serum so my review may also be slightly biased because all the products in the SK-II range work better in combination with one another.
I have very fine pores and sensitive skin that has a tendency towards forming milia when it becomes clogged by heavy or greasy textured creams, especially in hot humid weather. I loved the gel-like texture of the Cellumination Cream, it quickly melts into the skin and produces an instant brightening effect. I've tried this cream in the winter and summer months and found it most effect in the summer because it wasn't as hydrating for my winter dry patches. It is light weight and did not clog my pores or cause any milia formation. In fact it reduced redness, pigmentation and gave me a natural glow from within after a week of continuous use. My skin looked so good that I frequently walked out the door with only sunblock. My only complaint was that the longer I used the product, the more luminous and see-through it made my skin. While for some people that doesn't have translucent skin this may be an incredible product, for me it made me look closer to an anatomical model so I had to use pigmented powders over time. Not that it's a bad thing, just that this might be best to pick up again in my 40's or 50's. So if you're looking for a highly effective lightweight brightening gel based moisturizer that also smooths skin over time, this is a great product for you to try. There is a good amount of product in the container; a little goes a long way.

Awesome, but expensive!

I got this as a delux sample. It was wonderful on my skin, just like the cleanser. It's more of a gel consistancy. It made my skin feel incredible. No dryness or oilyness. It seemed perfect for my aging, acne prone, rosacea dry/oily skin. I currently use Revaleskin Intensive Treatment for now, but they have discontinued this product line. I may give this a try when I run out of my Relvaleskin, though. A little went a long way, too. I've never had anything on my skin that felt so nice. Can't explain it. If I could go out and just splurge on this stuff, I totally would.

Received a sample w/ purchase. Was surprised it was more of a gel consistency, but was impressed how it absorbed into my skin. by the next day, my skin felt so much softer AND w/in time of me using it, my dark spots were fading fast! now that summer is coming, this will be perfect for my skin!

i got this cream @ an international duty free shop and used the entire jar. i have pretty dry skin, and used this during the winter months(december-Feb) at first i was a little scared b/c my face looked ghostly white, so i guess it does what its told. it's not very hydrating, so it's better for normal/combination skin or dry skin in the summer. i wouldn't buy this again only b/c i don't liike my face being ghostly white and the rest of my body darker, looks odd

Quick Take: lightweight, moisturizing
The treatment essence has been my only SKII item for almost a year now. Items are so expensive! I finally got Cellumination cream after holding out for months. After toner, I dab a very tiny amount just to cover my skin at night. After about 3 nights, I notice my skin is very smooth. I have normal skin (no derm problems) and am pleased that no extra moisture is needed the entire day! One minor complaint is that it can be a slightly sticky if you use too much. Not kidding! Only a pea-sized amount for the entire face, at least for me. I imagine this jar will last me a year.

I got a deluxe sample of this, knowing absolutely nothing about it. I am 29 and have begun an anti aging regimen, but still get occasional cystic acne around my chin area. I used the deluxe sample every night religiously. I noticed almost immediately that my chin cleared up to the point where I have a few clogged pores there and nothing else. Red marks from prior breakouts have also faded. I cannot tell you what a huge improvement I have noticed in my skin's overall luminosity and clarity. As other reviewers have mentioned, if you overwork it into the skin it does begin to flake off. I would recommend only using it at night, so it does not matter if it cakes a little.

"Cream" is misleading

So this labeled as cream is misleading because I feel like it is more of a treatment product not a moisturizer. Since this is a 'brightening' product it does exfoliate so be careful and use it like you would a retinol product. A little goes a long way and if you want to get super skin cel turnover out of an OTC product this one will work great and reveal fresh new skin and help to slough off old cells. I think this product is best for someone over 40 who is concerned about cell turnover and keeping skin looking bright and even. I followed this with my normal La Mer cream and noticed major cell turnover the next day!

I got a couple of samples of this as a VIB thing and was so excited to try it after reading rave reviews on multiple websites. This cream is such a letdown. It sits on the surface of the skin and makes my face feel dirty and gross. It pills when I try to rub it in and leaves a greasy shine and a sticky feeling that lasts for hours. Definitely won't be buying this ever.

Normally, I would never purchase such an expensive item for a skin moisturizer, but I really wanted to treat myself and I am glad that I did. After just using it for a week I can tell a difference in my skin. My skin tone is much more even my acne scars are barely even visible...lets just say I am more confident going without makeup. I really like this product, I am not having issues with wrinkles...YET but I feel confident that this product would be good for that too.

It's more like a gel than a cream,but it's rich and can keep the skin moisturized.A little heavy if used much,so a little goes a long way.I use it morning and night,and it has only half left after 6 weeks.It can't last long though you don't need much every time.
