Quick Take: long wearing, fast-drying, beautiful color
I bought the blue for me and the purple for my bf's daughter.
1. Love Nails Inc Products! A LOT!
2. You must have big enough nails to make the star shape work... My bf's daughter had the tiniest nails I've ever seen and we could only get it to work on her thumb. She was sad :/
3. The bottle says to hold the magnet over for x amount of seconds, but I discovered that 60 seconds works best...
4. Get it at the right angle or it's not going to look that special... Haha.

Quick Take: fast-drying
I love magnetic polishes and got the navy color to try the star magnet on my nails. Every time I have used this polish, I get half a star or no star at all. I've given up using the magnet provided on the bottle and started using another magnet from a different brand bottle because I love the navy color so much

Lovely but chips

Quick Take: chips easily, color is great
I purchased The Strand, which was a beautiful color of blue. The polish itself was easy to apply (only 2 coats to full opacity), and the magnet worked well, but the polish chipped overnight even with base+topcoat. I didn't want to pay $17 for a magnet so I returned it. Wish it stayed on longer without chipping.

The star magnet is not as effective or noticeable as the wave pattern, but this color purple is a much more vibrant than the purple that comes with the wave. I plan to use this purple with the wave magnet, but I have not yet. Do not expect it to look like the picture, there is not nearly the same amount of contrast.

Think the Magnettic nail polishes are a fun and a unique idea, but am disappointed that each polish does not work equally. The star one I tried two different ones and they did not work. I had previously used the wave ones and they did work. My biggest disappointment is that the polish does NOT last past a couple of days if you do normal day to day chores. Nails Inc. needs to improve their formula so that the beauty will always work and Last.

I LOVE this polish. It looks great on. I took away a star, because of the learning curve to use it properly. Please don't pay attention to the reviews that say it doesn't work. It DOES- you just have to know how to use it.
First, follow the directions & make sure you've put a 1st coat on & let dry.
Next, make sure you put a pretty thick 2nd coat on one nail at-a-time. Use the magnet IMMEDIATELY. I don't hold it on each nail for 30 seconds- that would take forever. I usually just count to 10.
When you lift off the magnet, if the design is not clear enough for you, brush some fresh polish on & hold the magnet on it again.
*One warning, if it takes too many coast to get your design to come out right, you're gonna have a HUGE mess on your hands when you remove it. :-) I kept redoing mine for a couple weeks, and ended up with about 5 layers on each nail. When I took it off, it got all over my hands! lol I had to rub polish remover on my hands(used OPI- great stuff) to get it all off.
Once you figure out how to use it to make the design pop every time, this is absolutely gorgeous! It looks just like the pictures & I get tons of compliments every time I wear it. The star is my favorite one. I can't wait to see what they decide to come out with next!

I love this nail polish because its so different, but still such a great polish! There are many different colors and styles now, but I've been a fan from the beginning. The polish is thick and goes on smooth for a full, rich color. For best results, do one nail at a time, leave the magnet just above the wet polish for about 30 seconds, then you should have a beautiful 1 of a kind pattern that will have everyone complementing your new style!

The color was fine, but I had a difficult time with the magnet. The star wasn't very clear. I've tried other magnetic polishes and were fine. I would like a more defined star. I will try again and hope for the best!

I ordered the purple and the color was beautiful. The product however was very difficult to use. It is hard to determine the placement of the magnet to your nail, as I scraped my wet nails numerous times with it. The overall design of the lid/magnet is flawed. I also felt the the magnet was not very strong because the intensity of the design would vary. I guess mastering this product takes practice. I will keep trying!

The first time I opened the polish, I tried it on my thumb nail and it worked beautifully! The star design looked so cool. I then tried it on more of my nails and I didn't even notice the star pattern forming, it had worked before so I knew I must be doing it wrong. After playing around with it, I found that you must put on a thick coat of the polish, and place the magnet on the nail SECONDS after applying it. You most likely won't have time to make the coat look super even or clean on the nail, which is something I don't like. Also I found even with a base and top coat, this polish chips SO easily. Overall, I think the design is cool, so I will continue to use it. But I won't buy another one.

I can't believe so many people like this. You have to use such thick coats that it chips instantly. Out of 10 nails I got two to work. Its really tough to hold the magnet close enough to work but not touch it. I threw it away because it chips too quickly to even use just the color.

I tried this polish after seeing another make on a friend. It did NOT work! I even had my manicurist try it after I did and it still did not work. Kind of looked psychedelic, not like the star! So disappointed! AND I paid $16.00 for it! Am going to return it tomorrow!!!

Quick Take: fast-drying
Ok, this was my first magnetic polish. So, it took me a few nails to understand how to get this right. I would say, read the instructions, but mine were in FRENCH!! I do read and speak French, but mostly conversational - not technical nail speak. WHY ARE THE INSTRUCTIONS IN FRENCH? And, no, there was not another page anywhere in English.
I looked up the instructions on line. And my advice? Follow the directions. But also, there are some hints that will make it work better.
1. Move quickly when putting on the layer where you will use the magnet. Put the polish on, and immediately put the magnet over it. If you wait, even for 15 seconds, the result will not be as good.
2. Leave the magnet there for the 2-3 minutes as the instructions say. If you take it off earlier, the polish is still kind of wet, and the magnetic bits will move back away from the design.
3. Wait until the polish is dry, dry, dry before putting on a top coat. When I put a top coat on top of the tacky polish, the top coat reliquified the magnetic polish, and the magnetic bits went back into the base of the polish (aka lost the design).
I bought the color "The West End", which is the purple, and the color is pretty good. I did find that I HAD to put a top coat on it, because otherwise it was very dull. But once I put on Orly's Won't Chip, the purple really popped.
It took me a few tries, but once I got the gist of how the magnet worked, the product worked pretty good.

Just got it today and it's amazing! I have the entire nails inc. magnetic nail polish line and so far it's the BEST! The star pattern might not be as obvious as the classic waves but it's definitely noticeable (much better than the fishnet effect). I got it in blue cause I have both purple and green. The wavy pattern is cool but now that other lines have the same products it's kinda ordinary... NOT the STAR polish! Best part is you can use the cap on other magnetic polish and create your customer colored star patterns!
