Nice - very light coverage

Quick Take: buildable coverage
I got this foundation hoping for a very light coverage that would just even out my complexion, and this does nicely. It's actually almost too sheer for me, which is really surprising, since I hardly need/want foundation. Fortunately, the product builds well and stays in place all day. The color is also great for my super-fair and pink-based skin. For anyone else with really sensitive skin, you can rest assured that it seems to work well.

Quick Take: moisturizing, bullet proof, easy
This is quite nice for spring & summer months. It is moisturizing, easy to use / apply (bullet proof), looks nice though does not give much coverage at all, and looks really pretty with a tad of the Becca Opal skin luminizer on my cheeks + LM blush. That is a super easy basic make up routine that looks good, doesn't feel like make up or look like you are wearing much at all. The natural look. I don't think this is buildable though; if you add too much in one area it will build up in color right in that area and look "off". Great for summer months when you want little to no make up, something to put ontop of sunscreen which can make you look sticky and white, and give a bit of a polished natural look. NOTE: This does not add much coverage at all, so you will need a concealer if you have spots, pimples or other areas of your face that need more coverage. This is more of a TM for those that don't really need much at all

I love this Foundation. I've been looking for the perfect foundation that doesn't look cakey or chalky on my skin but gives me a louminous glow...and this is it for me. The coverage is very sheer so if you're looking to hide some imperfections then a concealer should be used with this product. I'm so happy with my purchase.

Quick Take: natural looking, moisturizing, just adds a glow
This is very hydrating; gives such a very sheer polish to your skin. was not a fan of this in the winter as it did not cover the redness in my skin; now that the redness is gone, it looks gorgeous; no make up make up look and is very hydrating. I hate the feeling of make up on my face. This feels more like a light moisturizer or gel, and gives a really pretty effect. Do not recommend building this; recommend for those looking for barely anything on their skin

I hate foundation, and most TM these days is thick and heavy and feel dry to my skin and - never match my skin tone. I have dry, fair skin with pink undertones and want a very natural look that this fast and easy. I do not like alot of make up on my face. This Becca is very sheer yet feels very moisturizing. You do need nice clear skin, and it will not cover imperfections, redness or other skin issues. It is one of the most sheer TM I have in my arsenal. It does look wonderful though, with a small amount of the Becca (Opal) on my cheek bones and a sweep of blush and tad of mascara / eye liner and lip gloss. You really can't go wrong with the application; no make up lessons needed. One star off for price, as this is a very pricey costly TM. I have yet to find one that really looks this good. Will use when my skin has no redness and looking good (spring - fall). It just looked gorgeous yesterday on my skin. I should mention, this is not going to work for everyone, and probably won't work for me all of the time. It is a very natural no make up look that simply enhances and makes you look more pulled together.

I finally found my foundation

Quick Take: long wearing, oil-free, natural looking
This is the best foundation I've ever used. Like the name says it is ultra sheer, which is great for me since I'm not a fan of heavy makeup. I'm very pale and most foundations are either too pink or yellow or after 30 minutes oxidize and turn an off color. This foundation does not oxidize and looks very natural. It lasts all day without needing to touch. It feels like you have nothing on. I have dry skin but it doesn't settle in lines or on dry patches. I love this foundation and will be repurchasing.

Quick Take: long wearing, bad scent
Unfortunately, I'm returning this one. The foundation itself is good (sheer and luminous coverage, long wearing, lightweight) but the scent is awful. It smells of old powder or something odd like that and it irritated my skin and gave me a headache until I took it off.

I never right reviews, but I love this! I feel like it's good some bad reviews because people expect coverage when it says ultra sheer on the bottle! Hello! You need quite good skin for this. I do have redness and some blemishes, but I use concealer for that. This makes my skin look so so amazing! My skin freaked out this winter and became so dry that I couldn't hardly even wear Chanel vitaluiere. Yes I exfoliate and moisturize with beauty oils, but nothing I did helped foundation not look dry and sit on my skin. This lasts for ever on my skin. I can fall asleep with it on (bad I know) and my skin still look perfect. Also if you use a stippling or buffing brush with this and pat it on before you brush you get customizable coverage. If you rub it in right away it will disappear. Love, love, love this stuff! Also you can get away with multiple shades. I'm fair skinned but I wanted to look glowy so I got it in olive, and it's perfect!

The coverage was exactly what I was looking for and from a distance, this foundation looked nice. However, when you get close, you can see it sitting on top of the skin. Bad. When I applied it, the foundation sat on top of my skin and left it sticky. Which made my loose powder blotchy. I am returning this product for something else. Do not get this one.

I love sheer foundation, and they're hard to find. This IS definitely ultra-sheer, so it's aptly named. Like ridiculously sheer. Like if you want to cover anything at all, forget it. I don't, so I didn't even mind that part. What I can't stand is the fragrance. Very old-school. Perfume-y. Ugh. Lies on the skin nicely, though, so I'm bummed. For $40 this should be fabulous, and probably give a tiny bit more coverage.

Best sheer coverage foundation

This is a fabulous sheer coverage foundation. If you are looking for something to subtly even out your skintone, provide a decent amount of spf, and look completely natural, then you will love this foundation!
I used to use Perfekt and loved it, but started to get a bad reaction to the retinol and wished it had an spf. This product is everything I wanted in a foundation. Completely undetectable, just a subtle evenness in my skintone. I have tried many different foundations, bb creams, and tinted moisturizers (Dior, Mac, Tarte, LM, BM, MUFE, Nars, Benefit, the list goes on and on). This is hands down my favorite. I am a NC25-30, Medium Beige in BM, and MUFE 127. The Nude was a perfect match.
That being said, the coverage is very sheer. If you are looking to cover blemishes or pigmentation you might want to look for something else.

Decent, but not right for me

I had planned to wear Laura Mercier oil-free foundation for the rest of my life, right up until it got reformulated. Now I'm looking for something that will measure up to the old formulation.
There's a lot to like about this foundation. It's very sheer. The color I bought, porcelain, is fantastic. It has just enough yellow to even out the pinkness of my skin without looking cakey or artificial. For once, the color might have been too light for me, so this would be a great choice for someone who has a hard time finding a light enough color. The texture is wonderful, not at all greasy and completely weightless.
The problem comes down to buildability and longevity. Layering doesn't really create more overall coverage. Instead, it causes visible accumulation in my pores and nowhere else. Also, I find that within a few hours, I look like I never put makeup on in the first place.
While I like sheer foundation, this one was ultimately too sheer for me. I would say it's almost like a tinted moisturizer, but without the greasiness that sometimes comes along with that.
For someone who is looking for the barest amount of coverage and a no-makeup look, or for someone with finely-textured skin, this foundation could be a great choice. Sadly, it's just not right for me.

Quick Take: buildable coverage
Freaking LOVE this stuff!!! It's the perfect shade match for my complexion - a pure yellow undertone, OMG. Makes me look lighter, glow-ier, amazing!!! I put this on top of the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector, and my just looks so great! I love that it's buildable. I make it oil-free and long wearing by putting the mattifying primer underneath :)

I have tried just about everything... really I am a foundation junkie. I have tried BB cream to the most expensive and I have to say that this is like magic in a bottle. The color does not mask you, but gives you a great all over glow....you can add more for more color but it is really the best my skin has ever looked and I am in my ummmm late 40's! I hope they NEVER stop making this. If you are looking for a NATURAL smoothing foundation that does not mask your face..this is for you!

I purchased BECCA luminous skin color in nude. I have freckles and I like sheer coverage that doesn't cover them up and make it obvious that I have makeup on. This is a wonderful moisturizer and makes my skin look healthy. It provides a great natural glow and wonderful sun perfection. I think this product is great for every season. It is very moisturing so I would not recommend this product to someone with oily skin. However, if your skin is dry like mine, this is great! I will definitly purchase this again and again. It is very sheer but i just use a little concealer to cover any blemishes i have or go over troublesome spots with a foundation with greater coverage.

Quick Take: tinted moisturizer-like, great colors, just the right amount of color/coverage, amazing product
I used this product years ago until Sephora stopped carrying the brand. Needless to say, I'm so happy BECCA is back!!! About this product - altho it is called a Sheer Foundation, it also could be considered a tinted moisturizer. The colors are spot-on (hard to do for a natural redhead with pale skin) and it provides just the right amount of coverage (and moisture) to be worn on its own or to dab on some concealer under the eyes, coat of mascara & pop on some gloss and you're ready for the day. The only improvement I can see would be to increase the SPF. (I understand this may be hard to do as the higher SPFs require different ingredients that may affect the color/coverage/finish). All in all, this product is AMAZING and 100x better than Laura Mercier's tinted moisturizers (all versions/finishes). Try BECCA, you'll love the products!
