Impressed - do I really need foundation?

I have rosacea, and I have minor rosacea acne flares (now that i use mushroom products via sephora), so I've been leaning toward green primers that counteract redness. However..I tried a sample of Becca Resurfacing after it finally became available in stores....and it is honestly the best thing ever for my skin. I'm combination, and red, and have large pores on my nose and cheeks. I'm also shying away from anything mattifying, as I feel my heavier foundations (tarte amazonian clay - stila stay all day) tend to matte me out enough. But Becca is fabulous. I put on my primer and thought, "wow, I can use WAY less foundation than I normally do - I look like I've already got my first layer on". As the other reviews have noted, it's slightly velvety, a heavier texture, but doesn't feel heavy on my face once I smooth it out. I also agree that while I'm not looking for a mattifying primer, it does help with oil-control quite a bit, and does not irritate my acne/rosacea at all. A+++ for Becca's Resurfacing Primer. I'll definitely be buying the full size as my long term primer.

i really like this primer. it is more of a lotion, not sticky and helps foundation stay on. most primers have a silicone base and are sticky, not this.

Quick Take: lightweight
This indeed reduces the appearance of pores! Thank you :) I am not really oily and I still use two blotter sheets a day, so I cannot truly say it mattifies. However, makeup lasts all day long. Non-drying formula. Bigger size than most primers (typical is 1oz for this price!)

This primer is awesome. It totally made my pores smaller. You can use so little and it will cover the whole face. Also, if you look at the size, it's 1.35 oz, so if you do the math it is actually a better deal than most other primer, which ranges from $32-$36 dollars because they are all 1 oz.

Quick Take: fast-absorbing
I originally wrote a glowing review for this product. However, I recently travelled south for the holidays and had a totally different experience with this product in more humid weather. In the balmier climate, I did not like this primer at all. It made my skin incredibly greasy feeling and shiny. While I still like what it does for pores and lines, I am a bit less enamoured of it now, since I realize that it will be useless during the summer months. So ladies who live in more humid climes, be aware of this.

My skin feels good and looks great. Apply this after moisturizer, add a little blush and I'm ready to go (I don't use foundation of any type). I have tried other primers, some clear, some with color, etc. and I haven't been tempted to write a review. But BECCA, for me, is different - my skin looks and feels better. I use it every day now.

Quick Take: smooth, long-lasting, pore-refining
I absolutely love this primer for a variety of different reasons. First and foremost, it instantly makes my pores look smaller, even under my BareMinerals foundation. I wouldn't wear that foundation for the longest time even though I loved it because it collected around my pores and just made them look gigantic. Not anymore! The texture of this product is so smooth and silky, anything that you put over it is going to look flawless. It really grabs hold of your makeup and I've noticed that my makeup stays on really well, even throughout a long day.

I've been searching for a mattifying primer that will keep my face from becoming an oil slick. So far this is the best I've found. I'm still an oily by the end of the day but it does keep me relatively oil free for about 6 hours which is big considering most only last about 3 hours. 4 stars because I'm still searching for something that will keep me matte for 8h.

Better than Hourglass's primer

Quick Take: matte, smooth, non-greasy
I've finally reached the end of my Hourglass mineral primer and bought Becca's online. It's a tad thicker than the Hourglass primer, but I like it because it's more matte and less greasy feeling. It absorbs quickly and has a little more "grab" with my MakeUp Forever powder foundation. That's all I need to use to have great coverage, no shine, and not a heavy makeup feel. Plus it's in a squeeze bottle so you can get all of it out!

This is different from many other primers I've tried, as it doesn't just seem to glide over my skin, but rather it "adheres" to my skin. I find I only have to use a small amount, and it does seem to control shine while it leaves my skin feeling hydrated all day. It is velvety, but at the same time it doesn't feel heavy. I really enjoy using it and would recommend it.

More brands need to consider the multi-purpose primer for all skin types, like this one. Any skin type would love the texture and finish. Also, it's a smart primer that controls oil where needed, but hydrates as well. Thanks for having the one perfect primer, instead of several mediocre ones.

I am SO excited to find a primer that doesn't make me break out!! I love this product, my skin cant tolerate any oils or creams and finding a primer for my skin was tough until I found this! Fills in the lines and pores, creates a lovely base for makeup, and DOESN'T irritate my skin! : )

I really love this primer -- and I've tried just about every brand out there. It's not heavy like the Philosphy "The Present" primer and it's not too slick with silicon like most of the other brands. It does make my pores less noticeable and my skin doesn't get as oily during the day. Also adds some radiance to my 56-year-old skin.

I think I found my perfect primer. I have oily skin and large pores and this helped my foundation and blush last a good 14 hours. I only had to blot one time during the day and usually when I go out for the night I re-do all my makeup but I did not feel like I had to do that with this on, I just did a little touching up and I was good to go! I skipped my moisturizer and used this stuff instead and I felt it hydrated my skin well without drying so this has let me skip a step in my makeup routine which is a time saver! I would have liked it to have done a better job of hiding some of my larger pores but it did smooth my skin well and felt like I had nothing on.
