hey! for those who where wondering, the shadow that comes in this palette is called Breathless (that's what this build your own palette is called too) and from what I've researched it's "a medium pinky mauve taupe with shimmer. It is has medium pigmentation and a really pretty finish that is just softly sparkling." Hope it helped!

Quick Take: good value, portable
Sturdy, fun and fits perfectly in my bag. I like being able to create my own pallette. Love me some UD! The color it comes with is great...satin and a good neutral for the violet colors I am loading this with.

Quick Take: good value
It's nice to have a palette for the price, and great that it comes with one color already. The compact is nice heavy metal, and it's handy to have a mirror inside, although it's way too big to keep in my purse. I do love being able to switch out the eyeshadows.
One caveat though: the color that comes with this isn't great, in my opinion. It's a cool purple-mauve color, but I didn't find it to be very well pigmented. It went on very sheer, and even after layering wasn't a very exciting color.

Quick Take: portable, good value, interchangeable
I saw this palette at a local store but they were out of it and unsure of when they would get more. So, I checked with Sephora and they had it, of course! I had several Urban Decay eye shadows I wanted to take on a trip and this was a much better way to take them than in their individual little containers. I like that they include an eye shadow with the kit. It's a very good value. Love Urban Decay eye shadows.

Quick Take: portable
I was so excited to recieve this. I don't use anything other than urban decay eyeshadows. I use oil slick with a wet brush for eyeliner bc it doesn't run. I am on my third oil slick bc traveling I have broken them. I thought this was the perfect solution. While I have many of the new styles, I have a few old ones too. I ordered a second build your own palette when I read the q+a. 3 people said yes it does fit the old shadows. I tried using a knife, a pen and a fork to get the old shadow out of the old case, NOTHING worked! However I did have the shadow crumble all over trying to get the old case off. Of course there are no directions to help you. Bottom line, I LOVE this but I will only use for the new style shadows.

This is a great gift idea, I pretty much own all the color UD has, so when friends and family fall in love with one of my eyeshadows, this gift with the color of choice is a gift they love!!!

Quick Take: versatile, neutral on dark skin
The shadow breathless perfectly compliments my skinto w and adds a neutral shimmer to any look. I could wear it alone or dress it up with more darker drama In the crease. This shadow is completely versatile and I'm glad I got it. Plus it comes with a customizable palette ? Great deal for the price of a shadow.

The pallet itself is to big to carry around in all my purses. That makes me sad, but I often don't need to re-apply throughout the day. The Breathless color is brilliant in its subtlety and beauty. I love it!!

Quick Take: useful, versatile, value for the price
Urban Decay makes richly pigmented eyeshadows, ideal for women of color. If you enjoy dramatic looks or more neutral hues, Urban Decay has shades for you. I love the fact that I can pop shades into the compact and go. It is very simple to replace colors depending on your mood, the season or the occasion (think travel, day/night etc). The full size mirror is great for application. My biggest complaint regarding this compact is the shape, the large square makes it too large to fit into most makeup bags, but that is not a deal breaker. The rosy shimmer pink that comes with the compact is universally flattering.
If you enjoy Urban Decay eyeshadow this is a good buy.

Great Shadow, Great Case

Quick Take: portable, pretty color
I bought this case for the shadow, as I've been looking for a pretty taupe with purple undertones for casual day wear. I wanted something pretty, but natural looking. The shadow that comes in this case is perfect! It has just a little bit of shimmer and the shadow complements my blue eyes very well. The case is just kind of a bonus for me, but it's sturdy and has a nice, big mirror inside. I struggled to figure out how to get my other eyeshadows out of their original cases at first. (It just wasn't intuitive for me.) But it's easy enough once you figure it out: just press up on the bottom and they pop right out. Once I figured that out, I was in eyeshadow heaven!

Quick Take: portable, good value, flexible
Loved that I could pick out my own palette colors! I am new to UD and am totally in love with these eyeshadows. I now own several UD palettes as well as several Too Faced palettes. That being said, I don't own a purple palette so I made one! It was fun to put together at the store and I walked away with all the colors I wanted. Even the eyeshadow that came with the palette worked out great for my color scheme! Loved making my own palette so much, I made another one on UD website so that I could do a 6 shadow palette!
UD shadows are awesome. The crazy, fun colors they have are just icing on the cake. I love wearing them because the blend so well. No weird chalkiness or flaking. Blends like a dream. Pretty and fun!!

I love the eye-shadow that it comes with. Its a shame you can't choose it but it is a versatile color. A purple-beige like shimmer that screams I-Just-Woke-Up-Out-Of-Bed-And-Look-Fabulous-Look, I wear it solid with a messy up-do.
The shadows are easy breezy to pop in and out unlike some people have said. Its a bummer yes that it has no brush but if you are so into urban decay eye shadows that you buy them individually instead of in pallets then you probably already carry around some make up brushes with you anyway.
LONG LIVE URBAN DECAY. Its the price of one eye shadow PLUS you get 3 holsters for more. And their new formula is just brilliant. Don't forget to use UD eyeshadow primer. Also they have a 6 shadow pallet holster on the UD official website if four isn't enough for you. The tin is also very strong and not going to break or break open on you.
