Quick Take: evens out skintone, lightweight
I have been using Le Metier de beaute Peau Vierge to help even out my skin tone but was looking for something a little less expensive. I gave this a try and it's perfect. I'm light olive and ordered "light". It's helped even out the tiny bit of redness I have around my nose and it's so smoothing. I'm loving it so far.

Quick Take: pore minizing, redness reducer
I have extremely oily skin and have been trying to find something that keeps me matte. Unfortunately this is not the product. I also wouldn't use it alone without make up. Its kind of streaky. It did minimize my pores and redness though. It also didn't make me break out so 2 stars.

Quick Take: evens out skintone
I love this primer. It really does male my skin look younger, and I notice a difference with how my foundation looks later in the day without it! Only problem is I picked the wrong color. It was hard to tell since it is only available online. I have true Olive skin, and ordered medium. It makes my skin look lighter than it is, even a little pasty, so I think I have to return it and order the darkest shade next time.

My favorite product of this line and the first primer I've ever used. I use it daily without any foundation. It smooths out my skin tone and covers dark spots--makes me look younger. It feels silky on my skin.

I started with the Sunday Riley Start Over eye cream which was so amazing that I just had to try this primer. It's unbelievably good--works with any foundation, even Bare Minerals, cuts down on my redness, is literally invisible under makeup. LOVE THIS ENTIRE LINE!

combination to oil, usu my t-zone gets oily after 2 hrs. I've tried many many primers, GA, LM, Nars, smash box, hourglass, just name a few. not a big fan of silica-based primer. This one is by far my favorite! It does what it claims, even out the skin tone, don't break me out, breathable, go well with liquid & mineral foundation. Can be wear just with setting powders. Most important, it keeps my oil at bay for at least 5-6 hours, HG!

I tend to shy away from glowing reviews, but this literally is a glowing product!
I personally don't agree with the reviews that say that there are sparkles or glitter in the product. It has a very,very subtle sheen to it, but there's no perceptible trace of shimmer in the product.
It doesn't add much coverage, but just enough if you don't need a lot of foundation. It goes on smooth, blends into skin well and is moisturizing without adding oil or looking too shiny. I personally can use it as an every day base with concealer and powder and I'm done. I can see how it would work well as a primer, too since it definitely preps skin and adds some radiance.
If you have relatively good skin of any age, try using this all over, then add concealer where you need it (eye area, corners of nose, inner cheeks and maybe around lips) and then add powder. Otherwise, it makes a great prepping base. Something for everyone here. The biggest trick is finding your color if you're not able to see the product prior to buying online.
Even relatively fair ladies should probably get the medium shade, the light is truly ultra light, for redheads and super porcelain skin. I am fair, and for reference, am usually the second or third lightest color in a foundation line and the medium suited me just great.

I first ordered this is the medium shade and had to return it for fair, and so glad I did. I am blonde and have blue eyes so shade is important. Great primer that truly with powder is all you need for weekend makeup. Wears well as has beautiful light coverage. I like using a powder foundation over this. Try it!

Quick Take: light, breathable, simple to use
with the other reviews. This is awesome stuff. I don't really think it does much without something over it, but that's just me. It absorbs nicely, not like some brands (Tarte, for one) whose primer rolls up when you try to put on foundation. It's light, it doesn't make me breakout, the packaging is easy to use, all in all, I will definitely buy this again.

This would have been a wonderful primer...I could have even skipped the foundation with this one! Why all of the SPARKLES in it???? How does that possibly look good on anyone's face? Maybe if I was going to a Halloween party, or possibly if I was 12 yrs old. Don't understand why these companies keep putting all of this glitter in their makeup...it just looks silly out in the sunlight, and makes pores and wrinkles stand out even more!

I use this product alone and it evens out my complexion. The finish is like satin, not completely matte nor dewy. There is a glow I see that imparts from within when I wear this on my face. I love the concept of a "breathable" face product. The product is very light and has sheer coverage. For example, this product will not completely eliminate the redness around your nose, but it does make the redness more faint, making your face look more natural and not overly done and perfect. I like that. If you prefer a more "flawless" appearance, you can easily wear foundation or concealer above this.
For very dry skin: I would not recommend this for those with very dry skin as this product is not super moisturizing. I have normal/dry skin myself and I noticed that this product doesn't sit well on very dry areas around my mouth or nose, especially in the winter. Remember, it is a satin finish, not dewy.

I've been wanting to try this primer and was previously using Laura Mercier's tinted moisturizer (which I still have and love) and was delighted to see that Sephora carries Sunday Riley. This primer is exactly what I was expecting and more. It is super breathable and provides just enough coverage to even my skintone. I have fair Asian skin with pinkish undertones and use the Medium. I use it alone without foundation and then follow up with concealer to hide blemishes and I never feel it on my skin. The formula smells nice too.

This is a nice product and improved it the staying power of my powder founadtion. It did NOTHING for my large pores. On the up side it didn't settle into the pores making then look bigger as some other primers have

i cannot tell you how many foundations/tinted moisturizers/bb creams/primers i've tried in the last year. bareminerals used to be my holy grail product, but after several years it stopped working for me. it sank into my pores and settled into every line. it looked AWFUL and every other foundation i've tried since has done the same thing, regardless of the primer i paired it with.
this product WORKS for me. it blends in but doesn't sink into pores and lines. it is sheer but evens out my skin tone enough that all i need is a little concealer (i use bobbi brown's foundation stick,) and i'm good to go. it makes everything that i put on top of it last all day. an added bonus -- my blush no longer oxidizes.
i have acne prone skin and am always cautious when trying a new product, but after three weeks of use, i've had no adverse reaction, i will buy this as long as they keep making it.

I bought this primer out of desperation to tame my extremely oily skin and I'm so happy I took the chance. Did not make me greasy and kept my oil at bay all day. I'm usually shiny by 1030am but with this I lasted the whole day. It didn't feel heavy on my face at all and gave me a nice sheer wash of color to even out my skin. Didn't cover my acne scars but I didn't buy it for that purpose. Sets nicely with powder and applies evenly. The only this is when I scratched my face it took some primer off but I think it's the setting powder I used. Looks like you're not wearing anything at all and I love that. I don't know how it'll hold up under foundation but I'm not concerned about that. I love this primer and it'll be a staple in my makeup routine from now on.

I liked it, but ended up returning it. It has some coverage and I used it after moisturizer and spf, but it was too many steps.. just wanted something with sheer coverage, and I'm using now peau vierge from le Metier de Beaute, it's wonderful!

I absolutely adore this primer... as a replacement for a TM :) While it's not great at keeping foundation on, I find that it's perfect by itself. It's drastically cut down on time spent doing makeup. I have unblemished but hypersensitive skin. If you have blemishes, this alone won't be enough for you. It does even things out a little and tone down some redness. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a lightweight, daytime cover.
