Not what I expected

I was looking for a lip liner that would work well on its own as well as under lip colour. This is not what I was looking for. It goes on nice and smooth and works well with lipstick but does not work well alone, at least on my skin tone (fair with pink undertones). It looks metallic and very obvious on me, and because of this I will be returning it.

Must Have Lipliner

I've been waiting for this lip liner at least for 6 month... It was always out-of-stock and even unavailable on Tarte website. Once I've got it, I feelthat it was worth the wait.
I love the brush attached at the other end, and the overall quality (performance and looks) of the pen is excellent. The color is very light peach-nude-pink, the pen glides smoothly over the lips, staying power is pretty good. I wish they just made wide veriety of colors insted of one fits all (it fits me but it might not fit others). I posted two pictures so people would have an idea about how it looks with and without lipstick. I am NW15. I hope it helps.

Smooth, Natural Lip Pencil

I was using an organic lip pencil before then bought this one. I like this one better because it has a nice neutral color, not too pink. It goes on smooth and best of all, doesn't pill.

Glides on and stays!

Quick Take: soft, long wearing, glides on easily
I've never been a big fan of lip liners, but I do like Tarte products (especially their Amazonian Clay line), so I thought I'd give it a try. It glides on very smoothly, and it's easy to apply. The shade of pink works well with my skintone (very fair), and I've noticed that my lip colour does stay in place more than it did without the liner.
One thing I'm not crazy about is that the pencil seems to wear down pretty quickly, and sharpening it wastes a lot of the product.
I do like that it comes with a blending brush (it's definitely come in handy!), and the pink shade matches very well with all of my lip colours (hence the "universal" part of the name, I suppose!).
I don't think I use enough of it to really get the nourishing, hydrating effects the description talks about, but it definitely stops smudging and feathering.
All in all, I'm quite pleased with my purchase, and I would buy it again.

This lip liner does the trick but it's hardly universal. It gives your lipstick of choice a metallic look which is cool sometimes.

I thought to myself; how is this going to work? I put a little chapstick on (my lips are dry) and then the purple lipstick. It was perfect. My lipstick was a sample so i used the brush at the other end and I tought; is too hard but then it went soft :) so then i filled in the lipstick and it look wonderful. Many compliments. And it was less than the other universal lip liner I was going to buy which was $30.00 dollars. Sooooo worth it.
