Dolce & Gabbana The Lipstick Classic Cream Lipstick

What it is: A cream lipstick for sublimely sensual lips. What it does: The Classic Cream Lipstick's luxurious formulation provides bold color that is both provocative and disarming. With smoothness that exudes sensuality, this truly sublime lipstick glides along the lips with a moisturizing, color-consistent application. Each shade is as rich and passionate as it is feminine. What else you need to know: "Apply lip color then blot with a tissue after application to help set the color. Then, reapply lipstick. The result is a significantly more intense color effect. It's a great method to use when you want to draw attention to the lips." Pat McGrath, Global Creative Advisor

Sublime
-05.11.13
Quick Take: creamy
Not sure how this lipstick works, but the color does intensify after a few minutes. I bought the Cinnamon and when first applied, the color seemed too light, but then it deepens and intensifies into a perfect nude shade--it's beautiful and creamy. I've had a difficult time finding the perfect nude shade, this is it--albeit pricey. Also makes lips look fuller. I use w/MFE 1C lip liner--perfect combo. Will be buying again.

Sample in store, not online
-04.21.13
Quick Take: darker and more sheer than described
I cannot review this properly, since the online swach was MUCH DARKER than anticipated. Was disappointed in the color.

Seriously? So bummed
-03.22.13
Quick Take: awful, drying, doesn't last even with primer
I was so excited after all the hype. The color looked awful and made my lips llok like a clown, it did not hydrate but dried and chapped, there was zippo lasting power and I wanted this lipstick to be the one.
I hate writing bad reviews, but you guys keep asking Me to, so I did. I wouldn't use it if it were free. I understand the Chic Monica is better and haven't tried it yet.

Quick Take: creamy, long wearing, non-drying
I ordered Sunrise, have fair skin, dark hair & am 36 yrs old. This color is beautiful, golden & not overpowering.
I do love the light scent, creamy texture & long lasting color to this lipstick.

4.5 Stars.. "Nude 50"
-03.03.13
Lovely nude shade..." Nude 50"...
Perfect nude shade that would be flattering to any skin tone, at literally any age...
Not the "corpse or chalky" hue that I've noticed in some nude matte lipsticks, but an actual soft, natural nude shade...
Application, consistency and finish is semi-creamy - not drying at all...
Lovely staying power....
Rich / luxe / stand-out gold packaging...
Nice price AND worth it...

Meh...
-02.11.13
Quick Take: drying
This lipstick is just okay. The color was really lovely (I got the orangey-coral shade) but that's about it. It's not as creamy as it sounds. Goes on smoothly then dries quickly. Staying power is pretty bad too. I had one cup of coffee and the color had vanished from the center of my lips leaving me with what looked like brightly colored lip liner. I'll keep it because it was $30 and I do like the color, but I wouldn't purchase another one. Especially for this price.

Closest I've Ever Had To The Perfect Lipstick
-01.25.13
Quick Take: long wearing, creamy, perfect style of semi-satin
D&G Classic Cream has everything I've ever enjoyed about a lipstick from the packaging to the texture. This lipstick goes on glossy and sets to a semi-satin finish. It does not settle into lip lines or bleed and is quite opaque. I have Nude, Fire, Devil, Ultra, and Venere. These lipsticks each have a really vibrant color but not so much pigment they become uncomfortable to wear. Fire (my favorite so far) has a thicker, more matte-ish consistency so it is incredibly long wearing. The smell is strong at first but dissipates very quickly. It does not flake or become cakey so reapplication is a pleasure. I am in love.

These lipsticks are nice, however they feel a little bit dry in texture, and I would expect a little bit more pigment from a couture brand, but over all they are about the same as most. There are better for $30.
