The smell!

Quick Take: smelly
I couldn't use the product due to the smell. I ordered it online so I didn't know how it smelled. When I put it on my face, I noticed a chemical/unnatural smell. It was almost fishy too! I just don't recommend this product. I love philosophy, but I don't know what happened to this product. Even my boyfriend noticed it, and I immediately had to wash it off.

I have only been using this stuff for a week and I like it so far but I hate the smell. That is what always kept me from buying it. Te funny thig is te hope in a jar nigt don't smell le this. I bet I the smell wasn't there they would sell even more

Quick Take: disappointing, pimple inducing
I considered purchasing this product for many years and finally decided to try it. I am 34 with sensitive, fair, acne prone skin. I was previously using Estée Lauder day wear and agenda tinted moisturizer daily. At night, hope in a jar is quite light, yet moisurizing. During the day, it was not very matte and, after 2 days started breaking out in pimples all around my face...not major, but more than usual. I gave it a full week and the "pimpling" continued worsening. I'm back to my original and may try bb cream this summer. Disappointed after the many amazing reviews I've read.

The smell....

Quick Take: lightweight, absorbs quickly, smells strongly
I want to like this, I really do. It makes my skin SO soft and supple, goes on easily and absorbs quickly. But the smell... It smells like sour milk, to the point where I actually dread putting it on. If the smell didn't linger I would be fine with that but I get a whiff of it throughout the day, and I'm super paranoid that other people can smell it, too.
I'm debating whether to return it and try something else, or maybe look into some kind of essential oil that is skin-friendly but has a better smell, that I can add to it. I've long added jojoba oil to my moisturizers as an acne deterrent (it works) so perhaps that is a possible solution.

Makes my face feel great!

I was looking for a good quality facial cream that would not be greasy but would moisturize well in the colder winter months. Ideally I wanted a product that could easily transition to work well in a warmer climate as well since I travel a lot for work to different climates. After purchasing this product, I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly it absorbed into my just washed skin without feeling greasy. I've used it for about two weeks and am thoroughly enjoying it!

I have used this hope in a jar for many years. I have occaisionally tried other moistruizers in the philosophy line, but always come back to this one. I like thuis set because I now have a travel size jar for trips

I'm a cheapskate so this lotion is a huge splurge for me. But I love it! Feels amazing on my skin. I'm curious if it will be heavy in the summer, but I think I would love it still. It even smells great!

Quick Take: smelly, thick
Hope in a jar wasn't right for me because of the horrible plastic barbie doll smell and because it seems to be a little too thick on my skin. Other than that the product feels really soft on my skin and I haven't broken out or anything yet. I will be returning the product though, I'm a little disappointed but I will try to look for something else with a better scent and a little lighter.

Great Product, HORRIBLE scent

I really wanted to love this product! I loved the consistency of the moisturizer and it seemed to really work well with my skin type, especially since I get so dry in the winter. I noticed the scent right away though, and I hoped it would fade after settling into my skin, but I could smell it all day, even under my makeup! I gave it a week to see if I could adjust to the smell, but I ended up returning the product.

What a difference

Quick Take: lightweight
So after turning 30 I realized it was time to finally start taking better care of my skin. A trip to Sephora and I found Hope in a Jar and have been using it now for just over 2 weeks. I have a new face and love it! What a difference a couple of applications can make - my skin is softer, has a nice natural glow, and no longer as oily a before.
I know there are complaints about the smell, but I actually like it because I'm quite sensitive to floral scents, so the fact that this one is just boring works for me.
I will definitely be buying more of this and soon so that I don't run out!

Quick Take: excellent
I have always been a big fan of Hope in a Jar, I have experimented with several other moisturizers and keep finding myself always coming back to this product. It keeps my skin hydrated especially in the winter when I tend to have dryer skin and makes my skin super smooth. Extra bonus that this came with 2 jars!

Not a fan of this moisturizer

this moisturizer makes my skin feel moist for about 1 min. It soaks in quickly but then doesn't seem like my skin even had moisturizer on it. I applied it again and it was the same, didn't even seem like I had put any on.
